Chicago Sake

God place for some Sake not much going there but they have a good selection of Sakes and the staff is fun.

I went to a Chicago Sake Level I class in December and it was amazing! The two instructors were so informative and knowledgable. Their personalities meshed together very well and they played off of each other fantasticly! I went to the class not knowing exactly what to expect but was pleasantly surprised that the experience was not cheesy and I came away learning so much about sake! I feel like a sake expert now!
The class took place at Murasaki Lounge which was a small but super chic sake lounge. Great atmosphere! When I signed up, it said there would be small bites included but this really only meant a bowl of edamame, not what I envisioned so prepare yourself by eating beforehand or have a dinner ready right afterwards. The class was a little under two hours in length and we tried 8 different kinds of sake. I learned the different types of sake plus a ton of background information. People in the class with us had varying levels of sake knowledge and I felt my friend and I probably had more knowledge than others going into the class. We can out of the class with so much more information though and I truly got a lot out of it!
I would highly recommend the Sake Classes from Chicago Sake to anyone interested in learning a bit more about the spirit and the Japanese culture!
