Superb venue. Amazing sound. Always very clean. Programming is a treat — regular performances by Chicago Symphony and other world class symphony orchestras.

If you get the opportunity to visit the Symphony, then go! This is not only a wonderful space, but it also provides the most amazing musical performances. No matter where you sit you will have a great view of the stage as well as amazing sound.

Excellent venue, comfortable seats, modern plumbing(very important!). Went to see the Distant Worlds(Final Fantasy) concert and loved the venue. I hope to come back someday in the future.

We want to see Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy. The composer was friendly, animated, and loved what he was doing. The music was beautiful and overall, it was truly a spectacular experience. Two proposals occurred through video game characters from patrons in the audience. They also created video clips from the games to show along with the music. Wonderful experience!

Great place to see a concert, the sound is amazing. My only complaint is that drinks are not allowed in the seats.

This is a review of the center, not necessarily the groups that play within. After having been around and visited some of the newer halls in the land this hall is a bit old style and traditional: the stairs and lobbies are too small and labyrinthine, the view is obstructed by posts in places(hint: cheaper seats), the acoustics are hampered by the blast forward and up pattern of sound(as opposed to the LA Phil radiating in all directions and surrounded by the audience). The exterior is somewhat common and you wouldn’t guess it was a famous concert hall. Yet there is a nice excitement whenever I go because of all the good things that happen there. I prefer the upper balconies so I can look down on all the action. The backs of the balconies are however cavernous and magnify every little sound, so if you hate stupid people noises you may go insane as I often do. Hint: when you leave, go out the north stairs back to the north entrance, its much faster!

Beautiful venue! On the 2nd floor they have an amazing hall that would just be PERFECT for a fairy tale wedding! The place is pretty nice, just like any other theatre and there are tons in Chicago Theatre district. The acoustics are good, the seats are comfortable. There are about 4 floors I think… we went for the Japanese drums performance and sat on the 3rd floor — the view and sound were both just perfect.

For the past three years, I have been attending the Christmas show at Symphony Center. Each time I find myself amazed and humbled by the skills of the artists on stage and the beautiful architecture. Such a wonderful blend of history and contemporary aesthetics! I am always immediately taken aback by the beautiful ballrooms, marble staircases, and classical balcony design. The location is simply divine as well. Placed right on S. Michigan Avenue, you have the Art Institute, Buckingham Fountain, and multiple parks within walking distance. I am certain that other performances at this center are just as breathtaking as their annual Christmas show and I would highly suggest giving it a try. You won’t regret it! Nothing beats«CHRISTMASINCHICAGO»!! Enjoy, Ian M.

We went here in Oct. to see the Moscow Stretensky Monastery Choir. As you can tell from the photos it’s very bright, which makes it more beautiful. There is a bar. The parking isn’t too bad. Kind of down a tunnel in close proximity, not hell and gone, which is what I worried about, and you can pay with a credit card right near your car. I’m sure there’s more popular places to go in Chicago, but it’s really exceptional. I sat about 4 rows from the front, even a front seat, you aren’t too close. Glad I didn’t miss this opportunity.

I’ve had series tickets to the Jazz Showcase at Symphony Center for years now. The auditorium is one of the nicest anywhere and as long as the sound check was done before hand and you forget about trying to do anything creative with the lighting … well, then, you just can’t miss.
