This Chipotle location frequently doles out double chicken without charging extra. They also have a friendly staff and aren’t usually as crowded as other locations in the city. This can be particularly helpful when coming in on lunch breaks during the week. Typical Chipotle taste and quality.

I was enticed back to this Chipotle location with a free burrito voucher post-E. Coli outbreak. My verdict still stands. I went arrived at 11AM with a line of about 15 people. I left at 11:30 because one girl was working the entire assembly line and the rest of the workers were just standing there idly with bored looks on their faces. Apparently there is a dedicated burrito folder who doesn’t know how to fold a burrito. He couldn’t figure out that you had to fold in the ends of the burrito and ended up just rolling the burrito into a ball. Disgrace.

I had a bad experience today. The employees seem to not like each other and were communicating poorly. Only one girl was making food and one was cashiering. She was frustrated and you could clearly see that maybe someone called in «sick» or something. I simply asked to try to drain the beans and tomato salsa as much as possible so it wouldn’t be so watery and the girl refused and ignored me. The burrito ripped as did the bag which created a mess in my bag and got«burrito water» on my belongings. The tortilla stuck to the foil because of the moisture and my burrito became a bowl by default. A secret shopper or manager ordering food also corrected the girl to drain the beans in front of me, so I’m not sure why she wasn’t listening. I guess she felt rebellious. Overall, a bad way to spend $ 10 for one burrito.

Worst experience ever… don’t go… staff is rude and arrogant. I told staff that they are out of Coke and one of the member said Coke is bad for you anyways so you don’t need Coke. Excuse me Who the hell are you to tell me. I ain’t your kid. Never coming back here. I guess the guy who responded was shift manager or shift leader(coz he had authority to void my order as I didn’t wanted anything to drink after his comment.)

I love Chipotle, and would give it five stars on most occasions because I love the product — but the service here was an atrocity and the chicken was burnt and rice wasn’t cooked through. You could tell the entire production line did not want to be there. One of the girls working literally yelled at the ladies ordering in front of me for not knowing the difference between Mild and Medium sauce. I heard her yell at a few more on my way out. Pretty awful service and in a service-based industry, this is a major no-no. The management of this store need to do some serious training before the poor service at this location becomes common knowledge. And don’t burn the chicken!!!

Soooooo god-awful slow. The entire line seemed entirely disorganized. And it was incredibly warm inside. After waiting in line for *seriously* 15 minutes, I was absolutely roasting. And their carnitas was terribly dry. Maybe it couldn’t stand the heat, either. Bleh. I’ll definitely bring my business back to the Chipotle on Madison/LaSalle. Byeee.

ANYONEWHOKNOWSTHEKIDMIGUELATTHEMADISONST. LOCATIONHOLLERATURBOY! KIDHASSOMEOFTHEBESTCUSTOMERSERVICESKILLS I SEENINCHIPOTLEEVER! Been in 50+ Chipotles NATIONWIDE over the past 15 years and NEVER seen Customer Service LIKE this… Miguel is such a Tender SOUL, he was born to be GREAT! I know this! His care of the customer needs is so gracious and tender, I can only compare it to a MOTHERSKISS! So, my guys and I go into our typical LUNCH location on EAST Madison, usually the line is out the door and the customer service is usually questionable, BUTNOTTODAY! The young LADY making the Tortilla’s I never caught her name but she was GRACIOUS every move she made from taking the tortilla’s out of the bag to throwing them on the press, just UNREAL… She started this experience of CHIPOTLE for us like no other. Down the line every employee put forth average effort making my Chicken Bowl, until it got down to the kid MIGUEL! This kid changed the ENTIRE game for customer service in any Chipotle… PERIOD! First off he was on point and never was slacking when it came to knowing everyone’s order for the lady at the register. He packaged my ORDER up with precision and care. My guy TD usually gets some tortilla’s as a side with his bowl and when I came to realize I needed some that is what MIGUEL did, I mentioned I forgot that important step in the Chipotle process. MIGUEL came correct off the top and asked if I wanted those tortilla’s, I said yes can you? He made it his JOB to request them from the Spanish Princess in front and once again she performed her role w/precision. Miguel handed them to me with a casual smile and I thanked him kindly. GREATEXPERIENCETODAYANDITWOULDNTHAVEBEENTHESAMEWITHOUTMIGUEL! He may have been 2nd in line but he is 1st in MYBOOK!

2 stars for being so incredibly slow with online orders on a regular basis. It’s become quite evident that you should just skip the«convenience» of ordering online & just stand in the long lunch line with the rest of the customers. You’ll probably get your food faster, at least today you would have. I’ve repeatedly had to wait substantially long amounts of time for online orders that should have been ready 15 – 20 minutes BEFORE I even arrived at the restaurant. I should not spend most of my lunch break waiting for an order that should’ve been prepared long before I arrived. So I’m done venting & uselessly complaining but please take heed & know you run the risk of receiving your pre-ordered food even after the customers who stood in line. To the nice man who prepared my food(the gentleman who worked the online orders during lunch on 12÷2÷15), thank you for making my steak burrito bowl very delicious, for being apologetic & your extremely nice gesture to make up for the extra time spent waiting. Others have not been so nice about it.

This is the worst Chipotle I have ever been to in my entire life. The staff is kind of mean, and the food is very bad compared to Chipotle’s standards. The meat sits out and is cold, and never fresh tasting. Also, the rice is usually hard and the portions are extra small and skimpy. Skip this Chipotle and go to another one.

Slowest chipotle ever been to. I always wait at least 20 min to place my order. It took 20 minutes this last time and there were not more than 8 people in front of me. Also the music is too loud. It’s unpleasant to stay here to eat

It’s a chipotle. They’re fast here and super busy so you can rest assured knowing that your food is fresh and hasn’t been sitting around. No qualms other than the line wasn’t moving as quickly as I would have liked.

The food was average Chiptole not the best I’ve had in other Chipotle’s. But the low rating is because the service was bad, they wouldn’t cut a burrito in half which they always do in other locations. Also the soda fountain wasn’t working properly, my Sprite was almost entirely water. Not the experience I was looking for.

I work across the street and literally come here 2 – 3 times a week. Don’t get me wrong — the food is great but my 2 stars is for the service. I often order for pickup and there is always something they miss. I put in caps«GUACONTHESIDE» and they still put it on, or they forget an ingredient altogether. I would forgive this the first or second time but the fact that it happens almost every time I order pickup, I just want to say — please pay attention! Secondly, I have told the manager this already, but there are multiple times the corn is still frozen. Doesn’t really taste great to bite into a burrito with a bunch of mini ice cubes in it. Needless to say I will still come back but hopefully they can just get a bit more organized.

I’m kind of surprised I hadn’t checked in or written a review for this place yet. This used to be my go-to Chipotle until I switched jobs. What I don’t like about this location is that there is no designated line/space for to-go pick-ups. You have to fight for attention from the nearest cashier who is swamped with the 30+ people in line because of the lunch rush. I like the Lake location because there is a designated station area and the process is quick.

Gets VERY busy at lunch! Just like every other Chipotle, the food is great, the service is generally good. They really have the lunch thing figured out, but I must admit, if I walk in and the line isn’t moving, I walk right out. There’s too many other lunch options to wait! Prices just went up as well, so beware. Otherwise I love Chipotle, has good options at good prices, and the food is always good.

PACKEDLIKE A BURRITO At 12:09pm on a weekday there were 50 people in line and that line went out the door and East down Madison Street! Wow! It was like these people were waiting in line to meet Justin(insert last initial depending on your age or music preference). Nope they just wanted some locally sourced food that did not have antibiotics packed in it. Finally people are realizing it’s time to stop eating at McIcky. Luckily I walked in at 11:55am and I only had 15 people in front of me. So I was able to grab a table and watch the mayhem of a downtown lunch crowd. 70% of those in line were tapping on their smart phones, while they were standing with co-workers. I’m not an angel because I’m writing this review as I’m watching them but at least I’m flying solo. It amazes me how anti-social we are even though we are being social digitally. That is a topic for another day… let’s talk about this place. I have learned that the way to go here is to get the bowl. Chipotle packs it full of food. Seriously two people can eat out of this bowl or you could take the other half and eat it as a second lunch or a dinner. Over the last few weeks I have discovered the Carnitas here. The pork is slow roasted tender and juicy. It is really good. Prior to that I was trying to be healthy and I use to go with the chicken but it was always dry. I moved over to the steak and found it to be tasty but I was getting too many fat chunks and picking meat out of your mouth is just gross. So one day I stumbled upon the Carnitas meat here and I am sold on this chain again. When I build my bowl, I start out with brown rice, followed by black beans, carnitas, grilled veggies, pico, spicy hot sauce, lettuce and then a drizzle of sour cream. I do not even need a flour tortilla at this point, so I am saving a little there on calories and sodium. The mixture of all of the ingredients is so good and I love it. Chipotle has come a long way since I first ate here 10 years ago. Chipotle also throws a festival every year in Chicago(3rd Annual was in 2013) that educates its customers on how they treat there food humanly. It is some of the best marketing I have ever seen to teach people about there brand. If you plan on coming to a Chipolte in downtown Chicago there are two times you need to avoid. Do not come here at Noon during lunch time or between 4−6pm because they are just packed. Now the staff does move fast to get everyone out the door and back to there offices but be prepared to wait. This location really prepares for the lunch crowd. I saw 3 guys grilling and preping food plus there were like 7 people on the line assembling everyones food including one person taking your money. This place has it down and knows how to keep the assembly line moving. So if you have never tried some food here, then you are missing out on a great combination of food. Pricing is simple and choices are very simplified when ordering. I recommend you find what you like and then continue to order it. Personally I think the Burrito Bowl is the best value for the amount of food you get. So don’t head to the Border when you can have food that has your health in mind and this is the place. Okay it is time for me to finish off the second half of this burrito bowl and get back to the great people watching.
