I am a new patient at chiro one. So far my experience has been great! I always leave feeling better, as Dr. Lavar listens to my specific concerns and takes care to adjust my treatment to fit my needs for that day. Dr. Lavar and the staff are all very nice, accommodating, and organized. The office has a lot of positive energy, and I enjoy being there. It is a clean, friendly, and safe space.

Short Review: I wish I’d said no to Chiro One. Don’t let them try to scare you or pressure you into one of their treatment plans. There are much better chiropractors out there that won’t intimidate or threaten you into treatment. Detailed Review: I was experiencing some neck, hip, and digestive pain. After a snowboarding accident in high school and again after a car accident in college, I’d had great experiences with a chiropractor so I decided to find one in my new home city of Chicago. Randomly that week I saw a Chiro One recruiter in my office building and I decided to give them a try because it was so convenient. How naïve I was not to look them up on Unilocal. Everything started out fine enough… the employees at the Loop location in my office building were friendly and they offered lots of information about chiropractic care. Which was nice at first. The consultation showed pretty normal results(I was knowledgeable enough from my previous experiences with a chiropractor to know what normal results were), but they insisted that I come 3 times each week for adjustments. That seemed excessive for me, so I suggested just coming in as needed. They didn’t like that suggestion one bit. They initiated their sales scare tactics and told me that I HAD to come in 3 times each week or else I’d be charged all kinds of money for not following their prescribed treatment plan. I looked at my signature on an official-looking piece of paper that I had signed during my consultation, thought about my options for a moment, and decided to just give it a try rather than paying for services I wouldn’t receive. In hindsight, I would have declined, walked out, and paid out of pocket for the first two or three visits(which I was initially told would be free). Reputable healthcare professionals do not intimidate, threaten, or mislead their patients. NOTE: They cannot charge you for care you have not yet received. About a month into the treatment plan, they were still offering the same introductory information about chiropractic every time I visited the office. Then they kicked it up a notch and started talking about their conspiracy theories about vaccines and modern medicine. It started to feel like brainwashing and I finally had to remind them that I was already a patient and didn’t need to be convinced of chiropractic’s benefits. I probably should have said more, because it sounded to me like they were instructing patients to avoid modern medicine no matter the situation… which is a reckless suggestion to make. There’s a time and a place for everything, including traditional Western medicine. Many of the questions I had about my condition, treatment, and progress went unanswered or were answered unsatisfactorily. At one point they began fitting me for orthotic shoe inserts, and even after I told them that I didn’t want and wouldn’t wear the inserts, they told me they were ordering them anyway because it was on my treatment plan and I had to stick to that plan. Wow. I stuck through it all with the hope that the treatment would alleviate some of my pain. By the time it was all over I had paid more than $ 1,000 out of my own pocket(even with great insurance), I felt no better than when I started treatment, and I was eventually harassed by the employees via phone and in person(our offices were in the same building) for not attending my exit appointment. About a year later I found out that my neck, hip, and digestive pain had mostly been the result of a misaligned C1 Atlas vertebrae(which was obviously overlooked at Chiro One). The chiropractor I visited adjusted me twice(the initial adjustment and one follow up a week later), explained why the misalignment was causing my specific symptoms, and he never pressured me to come in again. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Chiro One.

Over it. After stumbling into their booth at Wicker Park Fest, and signing up for a consultation for $ 20(desperate times call for desperate measures), I completely regret this decision. After reading the reviews on Unilocal,I chickened out. I only spent $ 20 on the consultation, but I figured it doesn’t seem worth my time to go through all that hassle. Well, even to get my $ 20 back has been a hassle! Between calling the office, only to be shuffled around from person to person with blaring music in the back ground, or being told to call«Maggie», email Maggie, send a messenger pigeon to Maggie. NOTHINGWORKED. 6 days later, and I am chatting with an internet robot hoping to finally get my refund… I ask for a confirmation number: Shelly: at 8:28:47 Thank you, I will complete your request and your card will be credited. I again apologize for your frustrations. You: at 8:29:19 Thank you Shelly. You: at 8:29:38 do you have a confirmation number. Shelly: at 8:29:44 You are welcome. Shelly: at 8:30:18 No, I do not work in that department. Shelly: at 8:30:29 I will have them contact you regarding your refund. You: at 8:30:34 thank you. I don’t feel good about this either. Even though its only $ 20 I am being fought over, I know I made a good decision about NOT choosing this place. Its unorganized, unprofessional, and over all frustrating. SKIPSKIPSKIP!

SUBLUXATION … google it. It will give you a new understanding of your health. I’ve been seeing Dr. Levar for 2 years and get an adjustment every time I’ve gone. If you understand the importance of seeing your doctor and dentist on a regular basis. you should include chiropractic care as well. Chiro One and Dr. Levar are fabulous and convenient. I had twisted my knee and although it was not part of my regular visit. he did an adjustment on that as well. I am most appreciative of he and his staff I go during my lunch.
