I leased an office from Coalition for 6 months 6÷2015−12÷2015. During the lease, I had little issues(minor elevator problems, A/C not working, slow internet), but nothing to complain about. Upon attempting to terminate my lease, Coalition was unaccommodating in terminating my lease in a timely manner and forced me to pay an extra month’s rent due to some bogus fine print in the lease. Once the lease was finally terminated, Coalition had no interested in returning my security deposit even though I left my work space perfect. I emailed every contact I could find at Coalition many times and never received a response. 3.5 months after terminating my lease, I finally receive a check for 50% of my security deposit with no explanation on why the other 50% was deducted. I am currently attempting to contact Coalition for the remainder of my security deposit, but I cannot reach anyone. I would highly recommend not leasing from Coalition. There are many other more accommodating and competitively priced work spaces in Chicago, including 1871 in the Merchandise Mart.

Great place to work that really represents the ideas of energy innovation, education, and community! They host a monthly happy hour every first Thurs. of the month which is a great way to meet members of the Chicago energy community– the space has truly become an energy hub and a great place to conduct business.
