Whoever said they had«exceptionally friendly service» must’ve been pulling an April fools joke. These ppl here are arrogant and non attentive. I asked the young lady behind the counter for assistance with the broken Wi-Fi(it’s like that every time I come here) and after one attempt she just told me she couldn’t help anymore. The other guy here puts unnecessary bass in his voice when he gets annoyed with a customer. The food is their only redeeming quality. I’m just tired of it. I’ve been here several times so my opinion of their staff has been formed and will not change until they change.

Have to agree with other reviewers. Service at this location is TERRIBLE. Anita Jeffries just treated me so rudely I had to post review. I was frustrated that I had to wait a ridiculous length of time to order and iced tea(workers were just standing around) to find the dispenser was empty! One polite worker did apologize and said it took 11 mins to brew… When I told Anita Jeffries a train station should have better service she said«Maybe you should just catch your train and not come to Corner Bakery». Tried to message restaurant on website to let them know directly about the rudeness of their employee but got error message on the website TWICE. So much for them wanting feedback

The location is great for passengers arriving at the train station, but leaving Chicago at night, you’ll have to go to the food court downstairs. This café’ will be closed. It boggles my mind why anybody will get a permit in a building attached to a train station without being obligated to stay open at least until 10:00PM. The food is so so, on par with other Corner Bakeries. The service, however, is sub-par. Today, we ordered sandwiches to go and waited for over 25 minutes only to be told that one of the sandwiches we ordered(and paid for) was discontinued«a long time ago». A «revised» version of the sandwich arrived only when we asked for our money back. Needless to say, we were late for our destination. In addition, some of the ingredients listed on the menu mysteriously disappeared, never to reappear again.

Slightly pricey, yet good panini sandwiches, which is understandable because its in a mall/train station.

This is a very convenient location for people departing or arriving at Ogilvie train station. Corner Bakery’s food is always tasty, and the service is adequate. I have had lunch here many times and never been disappointed, but if you come when they’re swamped, then service is slower and it can be very noisy.

Unfortunately, the workers are losers at this location. There are many coffee kiosks at OTC. So, many choices and options. Competition should be fierce. BUT, these knuckleheads have good coffee BUT, they seldom opened on time. This place is located in a transportation center where time is essential. I gave them many chances, so I ended up going to McDonald’s for cheaper smaller sized coffee. SHAMEONTHELOUSYWORKERSATTHISLOCATION!

So rude here. Anna is doing a swell job for this place with her eye rolling and nice lecture I got for cutting in line when I didn’t cut in line. I get that there is a morning rush but the line starts far away from the menu, and by the time you get to the register they rush you. Bad line system and horrendous bathroom. To top it off the only filled my soup up ¾ of the way. Hopefully they get a manager in there and can turn things around.

Employees have no sense of kindness or treating people nicely, totally rude. This is the second time that this has happened here. Clearly the customer is not a priority, which comes from the top down.

It’s a Corner Bakery. The food is like all the other ones. If you haven’t even been to Corner Bakery, it’s like Panera. This location can be busy at lunch. There’s generally a free table if you need to sit. I’m often frustrated with how long it takes to get a bowl of soup to go here. Sometimes the cashiers and the person bringing out the takeout orders could project better(I don’t want to have to lean in and ask you to repeat yourself twice while you’re taking my order). I also which they’d just call out my name and/or order number when I’m getting a takeout order. Lately they call your name and list everything you ordered.

I understand this is a chain and not a high end place. However, I do expect the staff to know how to ring in out order or the cooks to know what’s in each menu item. We ordered two large coffees and two Anaheim scrambles and received 3 medium coffees and 2 completely wrong scrambles. Serves me right for not double checking my receipt I guess. But then it took ten minutes at the till to get our relatively simple order rung in.

Had the truffle mocha with whole milk. Was really good but I had to wait a helluva long time for them to take the order.

They recently remodeled this location inside of Ogilvie. I just ordered takeout from there so can’t speak much of the wait staff. The people manning the cashier/counter were nice. I ordered the Sante Fe Ranch salad. It came with chicken, fresh corn and tomato salsa and cheddar cheese with iceberg and romaine lettuce, ranch dressing and tortilla strips. Being the health freak, I opted out of the cheddar cheese, ranch dressing on the side, and tossed away a good portion of their tortilla strips. Sounds like I got rid of most of flavor town? Not so much! Salad was delicious and fulfilling. It was one of those salads that actually didn’t leave me hungry(dont ask me 2-hours later).

The California Grill sandwich from Corner Bakery is one of the tastiest sandwiches ever! Not a lot of veggie options, as expected. So if you are a vegetarian with no interest in cheese, there’s nothing much to look forward to. Their pasta and salad combo meal does not necessarily attract loyal customers. But their chai most definitely does. By far the best hot chai ever!(even compared to the chai latte in starbucks) The staff is friendly and the service is as quick as it can possibly be. The new décor seems more uptight but very useful in terms of more plug points! Getting work done over a cuppa coffee doesn’t seem like a bad idea now does it? Good wi-fi connectivity. Overall — good food with a mixture of business and pleasure!

Never going there again until they rethink their use of everything disposable and their NOT recycling. We were horrified at all the plastic used to get our breakfast to us. Plastic utensils in those crazy plastic bags that include utensils you don’t use, my husband’s oatmeal was served in a hard plastic bowl with a styro plate under it(for what?) coffee in paper cups even for eat-in. Shameful. And then you throw it all away and they don’t recycle anything. URG. I hate places like this. The food was OK but my stomach was turning at the trashing of the planet.

I love their soup and salad combo! It’s well situated, with a lot of seating space — since it caters to all the office goers in Ogilvie and Riverside Plaza and the commuters. It is well staffed for being so busy at all times. I like that they usually pick muffins and croissants from the freshly baked batched on trays rather than the ones in the case when you order them in the morning! If you’re grabbing lunch, there’s an express line outside where you can get a salad and sandwich to go without having to wait to order. But that’s only for the cold entrees.

We all know what goes on at a Corner Bakery. Trendy looking pictures of paninis with fun names(California Orange Cedarwood Turkey Avocado Club Panini) and baked goods that are probably amazing but you guilt yourself in to thinking that you’re «eating healthy» so you skip it and jump out of line before you can think about what it would be like to eat two cupcakes and whoopie pie for lunch. Essentially, it’s decent lunch food. This Corner Bakery in particular is nuzzled in the back corner of the second floor of Ogilvie Station on Madison. I generally swing by here before client meetings in this building which is a nice place to grab breakfast. The staff is generally friendly-ish, but the crowds in the morning tend to keep them rushed and thinking about the next person before you’re even done ordering. It also gets excessively cold in the winter months as it is located immediately above the front entrance doors. I know it’s not really their fault, but it’s hard to concentrate when it’s hovering at around 40 degrees indoors. Makes playing Angry Birds with my breakfast extra angry. It definitely gets the job done, but there really isn’t anything special about this location. Doesn’t really have much décor and it’s not really an inviting or relaxing atmosphere. It’s more like a quick pit stop if you’re headed to work or catching a train in the morning. Swing by for a coffee, but don’t take a date here(I don’t know why you would, but some people are weird.)

Service here is hit or miss. If you order anything larger than a soup, you’ll probably have to wait while to get your food to go. Corner bakery food menu is the same. Good sandwiches and soups and the best whoopie pie I’ve ever had in my life. I usually get a cup of soup so I don’t have to wait terribly long for my food. If you’re looking for the coziness of the typical Corner Bakery you won’t find it here. It’s in a building with glass windows and it feels cold. On the flipside it’s in a train station and right there when you get off your train.

I came with low expectations due to the reviews that indicated a long wait time. This location is a solid 3 stars. Lunch hour wasn’t half bad– my order took 5 – 7 minutes. In comparison to Panera, Corner Bakery is not as tasty, slower and misses the mark on the«bakery» feel, but you know what? They give you a pickle wedge with your sandwich. And that deserves a kudos.

This restaurant came in very handy, when I was in Chicago for a conference. I was able to stop here for breakfast then make a short trip to where I needed to be. I have never seen this chain until this week but they seem to be the Frick to Panera’s Frack. The staff wasn’t exceptionally rude or dim, but perhaps in too much of a hurry at times. I know everyone wants to get where they want to go, however it’s not the end of the world for me to take the time to put my money back in my wallet. If someone loses a train because I took ten extra seconds at the register, that’s not my problem. The food made for a fantastic breakfast! I enjoyed the bacon and cheddar panini on more than one occasion. It was typically at my table before I brought back my coffee. Granted the complexity and quality could be higher, but it was at an acceptable price and didn’t taste awful. I can only expect so much out of a chain.

I have stopped here a couple times before trains in the morning. I always get the swiss oatmeal. It is a cold oatmeal with fresh fruit in it and a small coffee to enjoy on the train.
