I moved away from Chicago 8 months ago and still miss Del Seoul. Their shrimp tacos are the absolute best!!!

Del Seoul is the best Korean-Taco fusion store I’ve tried. It’s really really close to a 5 stars, so interpret this review more as a 4.5, even though I was shy to give it the full 5 star rating. This is a great spot for lunch or dinner. It has counter service, and it’s often crowded by the store does a great job to make sure turnover is quick and that everyone finds a seat within a few minutes. My wife and I have tried every taco on the menu. I have not yet ventured to their other menu items, but for their tacos I would recommend: Tofu, Fish, Shrimp, and BBQ Pork. Thats basically 4 out of their 6 tacos, so essentially all their tacos are tasty :) It’s relatively cheap(6 tacos for $ 20), it’s tasty, and it’s tacos.

Besides the fact that they have awesome food(wings are my fav) they have awesome customer service. I just placed a pick up order and my voice sounded like crap cause I’m super sick and when my husband came home with the order I found some candy and a little note saying to get better. Just the simple fact that they went out of their way to do that means a lot. That’s how you get customers coming back ! Thank you for your kindness !

I don’t get what the hype about this place is all about. I ordered a fish taco, kalbi poutine, and a kalbi taco. All of my life I had wanted to try tacos, but there’s never a place that made me like fish tacos. I decided to give there’s a try. THEIRFISHTACOSAREAMAZING. The only thing I’d come back for is the fish tacos. The kalbi poutine is okay. It didn’t really blow me away with all the toppings they had for the fries. The kalbi taco was alright, I felt like the meet was a bit too tough to eat. The taco did lack a bit of flavor all I could taste was the lettuce and sesame seed. The prices for the food is kinda high for what they serve. Overall, I’d just get fish tacos and nothing else. Probably just regular fries too.

I love love love this place. Everything on the menu is amazing!!! It never feels like a fast food Korean because everything is that good. For those who knows dumplings, the ones they sell there are phenomenal!!! They are not store bought and you can tell. Gal bi(marinated beef) is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. So is the Soon Doo boo tofu soup. Tacos are unbelievable. Everything literally is amazing. Many new Korean dives try to imitate but this place is still the place I drive to.

I’ve been here 5+ times now, and honestly? I’m in love with their tacos. All of them. The kimchi fried are always a must to compliment the tacos. Once I find something I really enjoy, chances are every time I come back I will always debate going with something new… But never doing it. I have yet to try more on their menu, however, I did try their chicken wings(forget which specific kind) ONLY… ONLY because my boyfriend wanted to try it(he’s about trying different things) & it was good, however a little too sweet for me. Anyways, I will always come back to del Seoul every so often. The staff is always so friendly & nice. My fave.

Umm I was excited to try this place out but was quite disappointed. I stayed at my friend’s place near the Loop so it took me quite a lot of time to get here by bus, about 30 – 40 mins and it was not worth it. We went in three and literally ordered everything on the menu: spicy pork tacos, Ktown chicken wings, galbi bento box, spicy tofu hotpot, and kimchi fried rice. Yeah I know we were too hungry. So the tacos is the signature dish here but we weren’t impressed much. Its cover is not chewy and too firm. The tofu kimchi jigae and kimchi fried rice are okay. Chicken wings are quite weird cause it was dipped in soy sauce(which is not really Korean style??). The bill was like $ 55 with all these food so it’s reasonable. But I wouldn’t travel that long for this

So I’m in town on Saturday and my Korean friend takes me to Del Seoul. The whole time I am walking there in the drizzling snow that day, I just kept hearing the chorus of De La Soul’s 1991 classic, «A Roller Skating Jam Named«Saturdays,» playing in my head. Get it? Del Seoul? De La Soul? I went there on a Saturday?! Okay enough with the jokes. As I walked into the place, my initial impression was that it was packed! So much going on with the people talking, the waiters skirmishing quickly around getting orders out to people, and so much more. This was the place to be. Our orders came within 10 – 15 minutes which was pretty impressive given all the people there eating. I had two tasty tacos, the spicy pork and the bulgogi tacos. Had a decent balance of meat, veggies, and went well with the light and doughy texture of the taco. If there was an option of adding more meat– I’d pay for that. Along with the tacos, I also had the Kim Chi Fried Rice and the Kim Chi Fries. I highly recommend both. Both had a consistent taste and a kick of spice from the kim chi that made it taste so good. I’d recommend using the hot sauces/ketchup on the side to make your kim chi fry experiences complete. Definitely would recommend this place to eat at if you are in the mood for some Asian fusion foods. Be bold, try something interesting without having to risk the too much from the norm!

I must be one of the few people who didn’t get tacos here, but instead went for the spicy tofu hotpot. It was still boiling when they brought it out to me! The dish was packed with seafood, spice and was delicious; definitely helped beat the cold winter weather. You order at the counter & someone brings you the food once it’s ready.

Two words: Sesame-Chili Shrimp… or is that three words technically? Either way, these tacos are five stars and I dare you to just eat one. You will be back at the counter in no time. Unfortunately, nothing else I have tried here has stood out as much as the shrimp tacos so 4 stars overall but I promise these will be the most flavorful shrimp tacos you will ever have the pleasure of eating. They are tangy and warm and a perfect crunch and that secret sauce! I wish I could recreate these but I don’t even dare :) Love them!

Interesting fusion Korean restaurant in busy corner of lake view neighborhood. The good: — good beer selection — kalbi tacos were tasty and cheap — bento boxes were good — Kimchee fries were delicious The so so: — Korean chicken wings didn’t taste that great. Looked like great seas wings but didn’t taste like them. Place can get busy. It was pretty full around 2:30pm on sat. Check it out!

DELISH as always For getting there on warmer than usual Saturday in December there was no long wait The Kimchi FR is ahhhhhhmazing I’m not a huge fan of kimchi but this FR is a party in your mouth. The flavors just explode of greatness I ordered spicy pork tacos and pan fried dumplings. Tacos also great. Dumplings were a bit off for me but still good. The bean thread noodles threw me off I wish it was just a tad bit bigger bc when it does get busy you’re basically on top of each other with other patrons Always an amazing meal here

Awesome! Everything is good. I had the steak banh mi sandwich and fries. They are divine. I order it every time I visit and always get a cider beer. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Quick service, super friendly staff and delicious food. I highly recommend this place!

I can’t speak highly enough about Del Seoul. I live in the neighborhood and go at least once a week because it is that good. For dining in, you go to the front counter and order your food and then a waitress brings it to your table. They also have a separate carry out counter so that you can pick up to-go orders without waiting in the main line. On the taco front, Kalibi and Shrimp are my favorites. For entrees, I like the hot stone bibimpop and the spicy chicken bulgogi. The wings are also really good — super juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside with a sauce that has a nice kick to it. Your best bet is to go with a friend and split tacos and entrée. My one complaint would be that the wait staff pays no attention to meal delivery timing. If you order tacos and someone else in your group orders a chicken dish that takes a longer time to prepare, they will bring you out your tacos a full 15 minutes before the other person gets their food. There is nothing more painful than staring at delicious tacos for 15 minutes pretending not to care about having to wait to eat them !!

Please come to New York and open up another store! A modern twist on Korea meets Mexico, come here for your asian tacos and kimchi fries. The liquor license makes everything taste better, but regardless the food went down easy and had me begging for more.

I just got done donating platelets @ LifeSource. As usual after sitting in the chair with needles stuck in my arm for 2 ½−3hrs I’m famished and looking for something new, different and exciting that hopefully won’t break the bank instead of the same old same old. There are so many options available to get old stand by foods like tacos. There are a few new places that makes it more interesting and flavorful(not that there’s anything wrong with a good taco). As usual I resorted to my trusty Unilocal and found Del Seoul at 2568 N Clark Street in the heart of Lincoln Park. Del Seoul is a unique place that mixes tacos, sandwiches, soups and dishes with a blend of Asian fusion flavors and seasonings. The people working inside seem like a fun group and posed for my Unilocal picture. As I was doing my panoramic shot inside I got to the end of the shot the staff of 5 were doing a cheesecake pose(lol) unfortunately that shot was a mish mosh of twisted contorted images. I did ask them to pose again which they graciously did(4 gurls & da guy). What a bunch of fun people. That being said the tacos I got were outstanding. I tried 3 different tacos just to get me a feel for what tastes and favors were available. I got a sesame chili shrimp taco,(which was probably the best,) a kalbi(Korean bbque taco) and a spicy bbque chicken taco all delicious. We are so lucky to be living in a city like Chicago with so much variety and ethnic diversity. If you tire of the standard Mexican taco give Del Seoul a try. Other joints that also have excellent tacos with a different spin are Takos Koreanos(another Korean taco place). Hmmm maybe they snuck across the border from the south(well«The Donald» will take care of that with the wall the Mexican Government will be building) and Big & Little(now 3 locations)

Located right on Clark between Diversey and Fullerton, Del Seoul is in the Park West neighborhood. This review is only for the KFC. As far as Korean fried chicken goes I can say not only have I had better before but I’ve had better in Chicago. Del Seoul seems to be more of a fusion type place with tacos and such and not so much specializing in KFC. I had first ask if their wings were already split or not and I was told they were«split». Well that is not actually accurate or true. To imply wings are split would mean you would receive an equal amount of what are considered the«drum» part of a wing and the«flat» part. I had ordered 2 orders of 8 wings thinking we’d receive even flats and drums instead we received all drums and no flats. Where were the flats? The sauce was a little too much but I’ve had much more wetter and much worse scenarios. Their sauce does have a good flavor and it only comes one way. The first plate we received was very sticky to the point that the sauce was so caramelized the wings stuck to the plate and the bottom of the plate was like sticky syrup. The second plate’s sauce was a little runnier but probably the same quantity. The«drums» were very big and full of meat. The drums were larger than what I’m used to seeing as far as chicken wings go. We made one of the orders a combo so we received a bowl of steamed rice and a small side of kimchi to go with everything. It’s obvious that their chicken is not the focus but it’s not bad but it’s not great either. I didn’t go with any of the rest of the menu since I was on a mission for KFC but place has a good vibe.

Del Seoul has been on my list of places to try for ages. So when a friend suggested zoo and Korean tacos I said YES! It’s about a 15 – 20 minute walk from Lincoln Park Zoo which isn’t bad if you’re in the mood for walking. Otherwise it’s right off the 22 Clark Street bus so it’s not in the middle of nowhere. You enter the restaurant and order off a large menu, get a number, find a seat, and get your food delivered to you. From time of order to food-in-front-of-me was about 10 minutes. I ordered 3 tacos and a side of their seasoned fries, which was more than enough food. Split the fries with your friend if you’re not super hungry. Tacos I got: Sesame-Chili Shrimp, Sambal Fish, and the Blackened Tofu. Everyone raves about the shrimp tacos but the Sambal Fish was my favorite. The flavors were amazing and the chicken was melt-in-your-mouth delicious — which was interesting considering its fried. Shrimp was good and the blackened tofu had all the vegetables I hadn’t eaten all day so it had that going for it. Overall, I definitely enjoyed eating here! I definitely want to come back to try other things on the menu/eat more tacos. I’ll probably never venture the other side of the menu and stay in taco heaven but that’s alright with me.

Screw everything else. Get the Fish Tacos with sambal. OMG Such a great find! Being from California, I have high expectations of Korean-Mexican fusion. I miss my beloved Kogi Truck, so Del Seoul was able to fill that small void in my heart with their amazing tacos. At around $ 3 — $ 5 depending on the taco, you get a very solid meal with all the right fixings. However, I can’t say enough how delicious the FISHTACO was. It completely overshadowed the bulgolgi and kalbi tacos I ordered, which were fine, but irrelevant compared to the fish. There aren’t a lot of places that use sambal as an ingredient, so you are in for a treat. This Southeast Asian chili paste will make you go woot woot, and the taco is where it’s at. Seriously, I am getting hungry just thinking about this damn taco.

All about the korean tacos. The shrimp taco remains the star, over the kalbi taco. Honestly, I’d recommend one to order shrimp tacos with kalbi poutine fries. Soooo yummy. It’s the perfect sweet, savory, creamy combination. I dabble with sriracha, of course. I keep meaning to try other K-fare, like the dumplings, and bibimbop… but really, when I think of this spot, I think of a quick, delicious bite. Not a lengthy sitdown spot, especially considering most seating is chairs only. I like booths and cushy seats for chatty dinner dates. They cater to the clientele in the area, offering a selection of beer and wine to pair with K-food goodness. You can have stuff from pinot noir, to soda, to a Vandermill’s apply raspberry cider. I feel like food quality does suffer if you happen to come in during prime dinner time, or a rush. A line can swiftly build, but I think this spot generally handles service well. Well worth a try! I still have to give it a 5 because I haven’t found a place like it that could replace it.
