Absolutely love this place! Awesome bartenders who makes delicious crafted cocktails. The menu selection is huge! Its a classy, upscale lounge so the prices are what you expect. I will def. keep going back!

What a great hidden gem! The Drum Bar has a great drink menu with all of the old time cocktails and they make their own mixes from scratch. Although we went in January and couldn’t enjoy the rooftop, the bar has a great atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back in the summer. Whitney, the bartender was fantastic and humored us with our many questions.

I went to drumBAR early evening on Saturday with my wife and two friends. When we got there the space was pretty empty so we grabbed 4 seats at the bar. If you like whiskey this is the place to go. They have a solid menu of old classics and their own cocktails as well. Our bartender Whitney was a great resource in understanding the menu and helping us select interesting drinks.(and she loves to smile) She really knows her stuff. I highly recommend drumBAR for anyone who appreciates good drinks made with knowledge and care.

I have never experienced such racism in my life. No one should support this establishment, they stand against everything we’ve fought for since the beginning of time.

The bar itself is very cool, but the service is awful. The bartenders are rude and unfriendly.

Very cozy spot, great drinks! Perfect for a wintery night. Hog wild and mother superior were both delicious… like an old fashioned with a slight twist in flavor

Very classy place that I visited out here. Wish the experience was more memorable being from out of town and all, but still a nice place to visit.

It’s REALLY good but SPENDY. The patio is great, see and be seen type of place. Beautiful people, bla bla bla, pointless conspicuous consumption. Plenty of 20somethings thinking they are WAY cooler than they are. A few suburban-looking tourists, some bored businessmen. The drinks are absolutely delicious, but I hope you have a giant credit limit. You will PAY. That said, it’s worth it for a few spendy drinks, everyone has got to splash out every once in awhile.

While the drinks were a bit strong(which can be a good thing depending on what you’re looking for) drumBAR has a great drinks menu, unbeatable ambiance, and a good crowd. Lots of fun people-watching potential here! Just enough rowdiness to feel like you’ve gone out-out but not crowded enough where you want to leave. Enough seating for everyone and a gorgeous patio rooftop area if you can catch the evening on good weather. I highly highly recommend this spot in River North – a must see!

The Beau Disregard was out of this world. I really enjoyed it. Great place to spend time on a beautiful summer or fall Chicago night! It is a bit of a small space but it’s cozy.

Glass with lip stick on it!!! Absolutely disgusting. No apology no nothing they just brought out another drink. The were out of stock of the entire craft beer list on the menu. Apparently«there was a big demand for every beer on that list» It’s tinny! I have seen better waiting areas. Glass around the bar was filthy and the white chairs in the middle had pealing paint. For a bar that’s suppose to be fancy this place is a dump. Waitresses hide in the back room. I went inside to the bar to get a drink and the bartender sent me back out because she said they had waitresses. There is at least 5 way better rooftop bars in the city. What is the big deal? I have a feeling what the big deal is… It’s for posers who go to think and feel they are cool and important. We went on Saturday around 4 for two quick drinks and it was god awful. I suggest you go early to check it out. If you like go back at night for a drink. Guaranteed you wont like it unless it makes you feel important

This placed seemed okay. The crowd was 20-somethings and maybe some early-30s. It was not too crowded and there were places to sit. The music was pretty fun but we didn’t stay long. Nothing was really attracting us to stay but the environment seemed pretty chill.

Stayed at the Raffaello for two nights, Thursday and Friday, and had very different experiences at DRUMbar, but still great from the standpoint of service and drink quality. Thursday night was quiet, and we had a great conversation with Shauna and Will, whose knowledge of the libations they serve is simply amazing. Seeing a person who truly enjoys their craft, masters it and loves to share it with others, just makes me happy. We both enjoyed super smooth Old Fashioneds made by Will, and I tracked on a fabulous cocktail(can’t remember the name, sadly) with blueberry preserved and black walnut orgeat. It was fabulous. Shauna was so generous with her expert knowledge(as well as a couple of samples) of very unique liqueurs and ingredients. I am OBSESSED with the Ancho Reyes liqueur she introduced me to. It was really a great experience. The following night, Friday, we stopped by around midnight. MUCH different atmosphere, as would be expected. I definitely see why this is a GQ favorite. Despite being very busy, Shauna instantly remembered us, and again took time to ask questions and prepare drinks that were perfectly suited to our moods. Although I felt like the oldest person in there, Shauna made me feel very welcome and went out of her way to accommodate us. Young or old… er, you really have to appreciate the expertise and customer service level here. We plan to return, probably on a weeknight, with a bunch of knowledgeable whiskey connoisseurs who will truly appreciate it.

Not really my scene anymore. Pretty hoity-toity. There were a lot of 20-somethings hanging around and it felt very see and be seen kind of atmosphere. But the view was beautiful and so is the bar. Drinks were also pretty much spot on and the menu was extensive. Drinks ranged from $ 12 +. It’s worth checking out but if you’re looking for a place to chill and have a quality drink I would probably go somewhere else.

My experience here was just OK. Came on a hot summer Saturday night. Waiting for my drink at the bar I was burning up since it was actually hotter inside than it was outside… no A/C? After spending $ 31 on two cocktails that were 75% ice we headed outside to check out the ‘best skyline view in Chicago’ as the sign said on the elevator coming up. Maybe if that was the only skyline view you’d ever seen it would be the best… I will say the atmosphere, furniture, decoration, etc. is very cool at drumBAR, but go to the J. Parker for a better view and better drinks if you’re looking for a rooftop. I don’t think I will be back to drumBAR anytime soon.

Expertly crafted, great tasting cocktails, a lively atmosphere, and a nice view are what makes drumBAR so awesome. We went here around 6 pm and were lucky to snag one of the last 2 open chairs outside. Everyone there was having a great time. There was an eclectic mix of people, which I always appreciate. I think there was only 1 server working the entire patio, so service was understandably slow. This gave me an opportunity to order our drinks at the bar, where I was able to chop it up w/the bartenders, who are cool and knowledgable. We got the Human Giant and the Charlie Be Good. I really liked the Human Giant and my friend liked her Charlie Be good as well. I definitely plan on coming back to try the other drinks on the menu!

Now this is what I picture in my head when I think of what a whiskey bar should be. Gorgeous place, great views of the city. Drinks are incredible, even for non-whiskey drinkers. If you love the stuff, try the Brooklyn. My gf does not like whiskey, but she had amazing drinks still. Bartenders here really know what they are doing. Staff was very accommodating.

I’ve been to Drumbar a handful of times and the service and experience have been good. Last night the crowd was a little bit different because there was an event. The roof top itself is really small. Not sure if it’s by coincidence or just the times my friends and I happen to go, but normally it’s older men with younger women having hush conversations. We started to refer to this place as the dip spot… lol. The rooftop gives that secluded mysterious vibe for the chosen few that are able to grab a seat. The insde is bigger and the drinks are pretty decent. I’ve never had the food here, so can’t speak much on that. It’s been a nice place to go with friends, but I always forget about this rooftop because were always concerned with the lack of seating or too busy hitting up our favorites(IO and Wit). Good times when I do go, but I just don’t expereince the same vibe and ambience that I get from my fav rooftop bars.

Had drinks with a friend outside on the rooftop midweek. I love this place. The couches are comfortable. The atmosphere is hushed so you can talk and hear the other person speak. The décor blocks out a lot except the top of the tall buildings which adds to the exclusive private party feeling. Yes, there is the occasional couple making out like teenagers, but that goes with the ambiance. The waitress came up at one point and said it was last call or last call passed or something. We begged for another round and she accommodated us. The drinks took forever because everyone wanted a last round but that was ok with us. I couldn’t beeline the place was packed and they were trying to kick people out. Maybe an ordinance? I drank the Just Cause cocktail with cachaca, cantaloupe, fennel, and prosecco which was served straight up and tasty. This place is going in my permanent rotation!
