My friend and I had a superbowl party here and it went well. And yes, this review is long overdue. Our waitress was extremely friendly even though she was slammed. The TV’s are flush with the wall so it looks sleek but the screens are small. I did have a burger which needed improvement — roll was not toasted and thus soggy, mushy onions, and no lettuce. Not well thought out.

This might be the best place to go for a quite first date. If you want to be alone with your date… or a mistress they you don’t want anyone to see you with. Why? There are never more than 4 people in this bar at any given time(including the bartender). I’m not sure how they manage to stay open. There is nothing wrong with the place. It looks nice and they usually have good specials on the chalkboard. Give it a try and you decide.

Unilocal removed my first review of this shitty bar so here is another: Don’t waste your time going to this shitty bar. I’d tell you why but the Unilocal police will just remove it so take my word.

This place will rip you off. I was there on Superbowl Sunday and called about the prices on my tab the following day. Some guy answered the phone saying he was not the manager but he would leave a message. I asked how much shots were and he said he did not know. I get a few calls back from the same guy asking me how much I was charged for shots and then he explains to me Komakazis are premium shots in his bar($ 10.00 per). He said it was because of the licorice liquor they use in it. When I said there is no licorice in it he said oh and began not to know anything again. The waitress was friendly but mediocre. She forgot drinks several times and forgot my burger order too. She added 18% to my tab without asking. I guess that is how she can get paid on overcharging. This place is best when you pass it by to go to any other place in Wicker Park. Save yourself from the headache. There will be a closed sign on this door someday soon and we can hope a good place will open in its place.

I live by this bar(walk by it everyday almost) and have been inside on a few occasions. Never anyone in here. Amazing that 1. they are still in business; 2. that they do not have more of a crown on this popular street. Once, after ordering a drink at the bar I go to talking to the bartender(perhaps owner, not sure). I asked why the place was so empty on a Friday night… he responded that they usually host private model parties. Apparently not that night… riiiiight… model parties.

We came in here, just wanting to check the place out before heading home on a Friday night. There were literally 3 people at the bar. I had to ask if they were actually open. They were so we decided to plop down at the bar and have a drink. The space is sleek — huge windows, big open space… very urban chic. Service was friendly and the music coming from the music videos being played on the big screen amused us for awhile. Then we started to feel uneasy — like we were overstaying our welcome at a house party… it wasn’t that anyone was mean or told us so… we just felt so out of place cuz noone was really there. So we left. And will probably only come back should there be a reason too… or maybe to eat… i dunno… It was just weird that is was so dead on a Friday night around midnight-ish…

This has got to be the worst bar on Division Street. How they are still open for business is a miracle to me. I have been here twice. Both times, it has taken over 20-mminutes to be served a drink. This place is ran like soroity, with no respect for patrons off the street. This place should be burned to the ground, and make room for something more predoctive to the community.

This isn’t really a crap bar full of douches, but it’s just kind of pathetic. I went up to the bar with three friends, all guys, and we were all served fine. But the place was just empty! There were SOME people, and I’ve always seen it empty, but being in there like that is just pathetic. To make it even more so, my one friend showed up and was standing at the bar with us. The manager of the place came up and offered her a seat. Even she said that was the first time that has ever happened to her. It just seems… lame. However, the beers choices weren’t too bad and either were prices for the betters. Millers were $ 4, but in my opinion who cares. I got a Samuel Smiths Pale Ale for $ 5. Not the cheapest but much better quality for a dollar more. Wasn’t awful like it appears to be with it’s logo but it can still be skipped.

So this is where douchebags go when they feel they are«too mature» for Wrigleyville. I stopped in for a few drinks after a festival and the Edge is ok. The inside is a little too«clubby» for my tastes, but the staff was nice. The outside patio was also a nice place to hang out. The mojito that I had was awful. It’s called muddling, bartender. Give it a try sometime. The clientele? Not a fan. I know a restaurant can’t help who frequents their establishment, but I feel it lends to the overall vibe of a place and some of these dick-bags made me never want to go back to Edge. Sorry Edge. I tried. On the surface you look cool, but you are just not for me.

While scoping out spot for grabbing drinks with some girlfriends on Division Street, we sought a nice, chic, less«in-your-face-sports-bar» bar on Division Street, we stumbled into Edge. It was perfect for grabbing drinks with the girls while still scoping out man eye candy. The interior reminded me a lot of Fulton Lounge’s décor for some reason. The service was prompt and attentive. The music was at the perfect volume and had a great playlist. The lights were dim but not dark. It was too cold to sit outside, but I did see they have an al fresco area(bonus!) For a good, relaxed spot to grab drinks, I’ll be back to Edge

And the verdict is… I like Edge. It’s a swanky little lounge that is still trying to make its impression in Wicker Park. There are tons of black leather booths(club style, that almost make you think that you should have a bottle on the tables). It’s dimly lit, with tons of candles. a sleek little bar area and flat screened tv’s throughout the place. I dig it! We originally reserved some tables for my friend’s birthday, but we got there 1.5 hours late, so we just had to make do with some booths in the back. It wasn’t a problem since Edge really wasn’t that crowded. Our waitresses were pretty attentive and awesomely friendly! Drinks can be a little pricey, though, for the area. My gin and tonic was $ 8, a lunchbox was $ 7…but a Corona was only $ 5. Go figure. But, here’s why Edge gets one more star from me — Management let us bring in a birthday cake! No fees, nothing. They even brought out plates, knives, napkins for us. SUPERSWEET. And, my(sober) friend accidentally broke one of the plates, but no one seemed to make a big deal out of it. Laid-back, yet still trendy… I like it!

Sleek, but superficial is the way I would describe Edge. Like an imported sports car that they put the wrong sized engine into. Looks great– but goes no where. I am still not sure what they want this bar to be. And now that I have been there a couple of times– I am still confused as to whether it’s an upscale club or a sports bar wanna be. I met the owner on my first visit who was gracious in inviting me and my friends to come back and visit on a «regular» night. Okay. So I did. My second visit was not as pleasurable. The music was too loud, the drinks were so-so and I felt, sitting in the back, that I was at a cavern that if we got a server to come over and bring us a drink, she was doing us a favor. Think I’ll wait on a third visit until the Edge finds itself. Cuz for me– riding in a sports car that goes no where– is no fun!

I like boxes. Gift boxes with bows, music boxes, wooden matchboxes, but the box that is the Edge just doesn’t do it for me. Had a good time at the Unilocal Beaujolais Event there… a sort of «coming out» party given by and for Edge; but felt like this boxy space was just missing a personality. I liked the booth seating areas. I could see coming here after a dinner date for one killer martini before retiring back to home base. But the box made the great DJ nikki mix bounce off it’s 90-degree angles in bad Algorithms of noisiness. I’m not the only one that mentioned not being able to hear someone speaking that was more than one body away from me. Guess we’re just supposed to do the Parisian Model«moue» and look cool… The Staff are still learning the finer points of teamwork, but were always super pleasant. I can see this becoming their thing, along with a specialty drink menu… but there are a few other bars on the Division Strip that are definitely more to my liking.

A big thank you to Brett and Carol for putting together another event. Beret’s off to Anastacio and staff for a job done right. Drinks were very good, served up fast and friendly. Toss in the music done by Nikki and you have a recipe for a fun time. The space is new, sleek and minimalist in design. High loft ceilings make the place feel less narrower than it is. My only suggestion would be that they add something to absorb sound, I know parties get loud, however at times it was so loud you couldn’t make out what people were saying. I remember thinking several times, I wish I could read lips. This place is great for a group night out.

1st off, I would like to give a shout out to Brett & Carol for throwing one heck of a PARTAY! These ladies know how to do it right and give Unilocalers a good time – thank you very much chicas! That said – are you looking for a venue to host a party or function – check this place out! The Venue: Sleek, sexy, chic are all words to describe this place. I might also throw is cozy – it would be a great place for a date or a night out with the girls. If you are looking to relax, have some beverages, chill and just be – I would highly recommend checking out this space. The space is new so get it while the getting is good. It has a combination of tables for lounging, a long bar area, booths, and very snuggish tables towards the rear of the place. Also the space is HUGE – even with about 100 people there, it did not at all feel crowded. It has a very minimalist feel to it, dark colors, dimly lit which I think gives it a sleek appeal. I can see this place becoming the«place» to go for after parties or pre-lubes – it is just so flipping chill. Or a place where you want to go because you feel like dressing up, but do not want to go to an ordinary bar. oh AND – Attention all you fellas out there, if you are looking for a lounge/bar with some of the best looking servers out there – go to the Edge. Seriously, they are not only very attentive, prompt, and friendly – they are also very attractive.

Another fabulous evening at Edge!!! A big thank you to Anastacio and the staff for helping us to throw an amazing and trés chic party to celebrate the arrival of the 2008 Beaujolais Nouveau! It’s not an easy feat to host 100 thirsty and hungry Unilocalers but the bartenders, waitstaff and chefs handled us all beautifully. There is no doubt, I’m definitely looking forward to throwing many more soirees right here.

I’m just writing this review so I can say I was here. That way when this place becomes well known, people will think I’m super fucking badical and everyone will love me. The kingdom will be restored to order, and I will be knighted. I will develop an English accent, and tap people with my cane and call them«you there». Most of my friends and family will not want to be around me because I’ve grown so obnoxious, but it really won’t matter, because I won’t associate with the peasantry anyway. So yeah, I really liked the layout of this place. Plenty of seats and everything is accessible. Ceiling height is probably 20 feet which gives it a great open feel. But enough about that. What time does Sean Connery get to Wimbledon? Tennish.

Something that stuck with me: As i’m leaving, the young lady who had been our waitress stops over by me to have a very brief conversation. Smiling and not in a hurry she Tells me her name, asks how far I have to go, tells me to be safe and to come again. All of this said with much sincerity so I didn’t feel like it was straight from the training tape or anything. I think her name was Yolanda or something that rhymes with Rhonda. The Space: Very cool and sophisticated looking. I like it. I like the minimalist look. Not too many signs advertising«dollar drafts» or whatever. This may be weird but I also like the bathrooms. It would be cool if they had an upstairs. Staff: Lovely. Everyone seemed so nice, even the girl behind the bar filling water pitchers said hello. Guys bringing out food were right on top of things(not sure if they were being prompted or what but kudos). I definitely want to go back and check out the scene on a «normal» night.

The Damen/Division bar strip just got an upgrade in the class department by the arrival of Edge. Edge has the lounge bit down pat… dark wood, low black leather booths and 4 top tables, long bar, high ceilings. Yep, sounds like a lounge to me! And I like my lounges, so I’m not complaining. Having only been to Edge twice(once for the soft opening and once for a private event), I’m not sure how the crowd will shake out, but I’m optimistic. It seems like the perfect place to start out your night with a classy cocktail and conversation with your friends. Or a great date location. I, for one, would like to make out in one of those cozy booths sometime soon. Like Colleen mentioned, I think Edge could benefit from a specialty drink list. Right now the drink menu exclusively lists wines and beers. Can’t wait to come back!

Oh, I just don’t know… A-OK describes it pretty well. It didn’t floor me, nor did it piss me off… The good: This fella(we’ll call him The Edge) is well dressed, and groomed. Stylish, understated, sleek, sophisticated. The service was fine for being early in the game(only open a few nights). We snagged a table easily near the back and enjoyed a round of boring cocktails. Oh, right. Boring cocktails. I guess I was lookin’ for something a little… more. No cocktail list? Why bother opening? She offered me a beer and wine list… but, um… I can drink beer and wine anywhere. I was buzzed and wishing to drop entirely too much money on a triangle shaped glass of booze. Fill the desire, design some cocktails. Just a few… be different. Stand out. Beer and wine, not so much. So, I had a vodka soda. No biggie, but seriously… they only got $ 6(plus tip) out of me. With a martini I likely would’ve spilled $ 12, plus stuck around for more… It lacks personality at this point. It’s stylish, yes. But… what else? Nothing that really sets it apart from anything else on Division. It’s new, so the novelty is there… but I didn’t notice anything that made it «pop.» Ok for a drink, and 3 stars on the max potential. This place could really be something, it just needs to figure out what.
