Kinda sketchy area, but the burrito con pollo that I ordered was really good and well worth the price. CASHONLY. I thought that it was really good, and I am glad that I decided to go there.

Hmmmmm I don’t know where to begin with this place. I think this place is actually really good but I only gave it two stars instead of four because of the customer service. If your not Mexican you will not receive a warm greeting even if you give one. I walked in and said hello and it being my first time there the cook just walked right pass me without any acknowledgement or anything so I just stood there till he ask he what did I want. Which is exactly what he said but when his Mexican buddies came in they got the what up amigos and a smile… Um why couldn’t I get that??? Another black person came in after me and straight attitude again. Ugh that disgusted me if you don’t want black ppl in your store, put up a sign so I can sue. Just rude. But never the less I ordered a steak burrito from here and it was delicious. It had beans, seasoned to perfection steak, lettuce, tomato and cheese that was all rolled up inside if a tortilla. It didn’t come with fries or anything, I assume you had to order that separately if you wanted it but whatever. Over all it was really good food from what I had bit I don’t think I would be back because of the awful customer service. I don’t pay people to treat me like crap. So I can’t pay them even though their food was delicious. 7÷16÷15 Everyone: please look at the picture that I posted that someone sent me and you will understand my response So I am NOT changing a single thing that I wrote in response to how I felt when I walked into this establishment. but I will response to Arthur R. From Lansing sent he felt it was his responsibility to correct me on my opinion and my feelings since he is obviously an African American young lady named Tamara(I didn’t know I had an exact replica of myself but cool!!!) even though it’s none of your business how I paid for my food, but a co-worker paid for me that day because we needed a quick bite to eat and it was her turn to buy lunch. So therefore No I did not pay for my meal and Yes it was DELICIOUS. What does Bill Cosby have to do with anything? I don’t know him and he don’t know me? I NEVER claimed anyone in there to be a racist, I just wanted a warm greeting like every Latino that walked in there. Since you said most black people don’t know how to act in the inner city including me. you don’t know me or my demeanor. Don’t judge me by other peoples actions judge me for me. I had a smile on my face, I was properly dressed given the fact that I was working, and I spoke proper English. So why can’t I get a simple hi? Yes I did say if they don’t want black people in their store to put up a sign so I can sue and I stand by it! By the way that goes for any place I visit. Have I been back since that review? yes I have. did I pay for anything? No I did not. Did I steal anything? No I did not. I just happen to have a coworker who like the place. Last time I checked Money is GREEN and that’s the only color I know and it all spends the same and finally I am the consumer that wanted to buy a product and No I didn’t need to spend my Hard Earn Money on someplace that cannot say hi to me and everyone in there spoke perfectly good English and Spanish so there were No language barrier. Now I don’t need to explain myself to you or anyone else for that matter Arthur R. From Lansing IL. But I took the time to respond to your ignorance about me and how I felt because I forgot I guess I don’t me or my emotions and a complete stranger that I never meet knows me better then I know myself. Keep the nonsense to yourself and thank you for reading. At least I know my reviews are being read. #NeverOnThatLevel. Who the real racist. Not me so I guess that’s you. Unilocal please don’t delete this, let other people learn from his stupid mistake. #ImAboveTheNegative Facebook Twitter Instagram Can all get a good laugh

This place was damn good. I got the steak burrito and the whole thing was so freakin tasty and the steak is cooked right. I had the fried pork(Carnitas) Gordita and man was it good as hell, I highly recommend the gordita here, my brother had a El Pastor one and he said is some good shit too! I will definately be back and it is a sigh of relief after eating at nasty TNT down the street a while back.

Delicious! I visited from Tucson AZ and am used to Sonoran style food. This place was awesome. I loved the way the carne asada was so finely chopped and well seasoned. I had a taco and a gordita and wanted to try the chicharron and adobada but was too full. I liked the sour cream, and although we use cabbage and not lettuce, it was a good combination. The Agua de Melon could have been a little sweeter but I will definitely eat here again when I am in the area.

Do you like tacos, gorditas, burritos, and tortas?! Are you looking for the best of these in the entire city of Chicago?! Well you’re going to need to come out to South Chicago and get yourself ANYTHING from El Guero’s food stand! BUT, this spot is cash only. So don’t forget that key piece of information. Their service is quick, the cooks are friendly, and all the food is made as you order it. You can, however, call in to place your order to get your food quicker. If you do this, I’d suggest you eat there because the food doesn’t travel too well in the aluminum foil it gets wrapped. Now, on to the food! The meat is just plain delicious, no matter what you get. Personally, I’m more of a fan of carne asada and theirs stands above the rest that I’ve tasted throughout the city. They have a decent variety of meat, which is good so you don’t get overwhelmed with too many options. You can get carne asada, al pastor, chicken, chorizo and a few others. To drink, they have your typical canned pop as well as bottles, as well as water. But, if you really want to enjoy your food, you simply cannot skip out on the agauas frescas! I’d suggest the horchata, which in my opinion, goes head to head that of Lalo’s. They also have pineapple water and jamaica. To sum it up, this is absolutely the best Mexican fast food spot in the city.

Hands down, THEBEST tacos and gorditas in South Chicago! Quick, friendly service. CASHONLY. Takes orders ahead of time over the phone for minimal waiting. Delicious homemade salsas to accompany your food and a variety of different kinds of meat(carne asada, al pastor, chicken, chorizo, etc.). You can your tacos with either cilantro and onion or lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, but I recommend getting it with cilantro and onion. Also, the aguas frescas are THABOMBDOTCOM! Their horchata(rice water) is PERFECTION and the agua de melon is THE antidote for a nasty hangover! p. s. this place DOES deliver but to businesses ONLY and for a minimum amount $ 15 in food. \ CASHONLY, people!

GORDITAS! This is a grocery store that has a little lunch counter. Gorditas are damn good and one($ 2.35 each) fills me up. Every once in a while I like to try out my Spanish but lately I’ve been ordering in English because I’m chicken. And no, white boy, those red and yellow bottles are not ketchup and mustard. *pictures
