Extremely friendly and welcoming. The space is very clean. They were very patient and understanding. They also offered great advice on skin care régime during and after the facial. The products used during my facial smelled great as well.
However, I went to the bathroom afterwards and there were a bunch of pimples missed during the extraction. I recognize that not all of them can be extracted at once, but it felt rushed and I had to personally extract a few obvious ones when I got home. I also bought some products and the tip was based off the total with them included, instead of taking the percentage from the actual service. I received the Unilocal discount but still ya’ll.
I won’t be returning.

Maxine has been wonderful in helping me clear up some pesky acne. I have been coming for about four months now and my skin has improved so much. If you’re dealing with acne, definitely try this place out!

Knowledge is power!
I had my appointment with Magdalena yesterday and I am so happy I finally pulled the trigger and came in for an appointment.
She explained the problem, a process of how to correct it, and then the solution. She did so concisely and very succinctly. What more could a person want or need?
She was very knowledgable about PROPER skin care and that’s what I was most concerned with during my visit. My skin has been very problematic and I have temporary success all the time with getting it clear, but it always reverts back to dull and clogged pores.
Its like when you go to a hair STYLIST they slay your hair, but at the end of the day your hair is not healthy or growing properly… Because you went to a stylist and not a hair care specialist who knows about how to care for your hair.
I am going to do the 3 facials every 3 weeks, as well as the home care regimen using the products she sold me (which were very affordable for spa grade skin care products) and come back and let you know about my progress.
I’m excited to see the results!

Magdalena is honestly the cutest and greatest ball of sunshine. She has taken years and years of awful skin and maintain it to wonders. The things she knows is insanely amazing. Always honest and truthful, my first visit she told me how long result would take without sugar coating it. No seeing her for I think maybe a year and a half later my skin is amazing. Occasional the few breakouts but she’ll do something for them during one of her treatments. Never over bearing about product buying. But I live by those products. She has her own office now with staff that equally is as sweet and welcoming as her.

I found Magdalena thru a client, she came in for a Blowout and her skin looked Flawless! I complimented her and asked what skin products she uses, her answer was“I owe this to Magdalena you should see her!“I have tried thousands of products, dermatolgists and etc. Nothing worked. I decided to give myself last chance and go see her, best decision i ever made! She is amazing, so educated, talanted and Honest! Well, its been 2.5 years since I started coming this wonderful woman and I have nothing but positive praise for her and her staff, that’s right yall STAFF, Magdalena has so many client’s in need of her services she has moved into her OWN office and hired awesome estheticians. Magdalena is still awesome and amazing and phenomenal. I had a pumpkin cheesecake facial by Taylor, she is great, 2 things, her hands were ice cold, not a problem, because that particular facial tingles and makes your skin warm, so I did not mind the cold hands to cool off my skin and 2 she did not apply enough pressure to my shoulder massage, she’s not a masseuse, so its fine. Overall, I would go to her again. Magdalena now has montly special’s, refer a friend deals and the Unilocal deal that inspired me to come to her is still available.

Taylor is great and I’m so happy to have found a studio that carries Face Reality products! All of the ladies are really nice and do a great job on the treatment plans!

This review is long overdue. I’ve battled with acne over 20 years and have tried EVERYTHING to get it under control. Nothing ever worked. Ever. Ever. Ever. Fellow acne sufferers, you can relate.
I found Magdalena in January 2014 and she is honestly the best thing that’s ever happened to my skin. If you’re struggling with chronic acne, I can’t recommend her enough. Seriously. Stop wasting your money on over-​the-​counter or prescription products. Tell your dermatologist goodbye. Just go to Magdalena.
It’s been almost 2 years now that I’ve FINALLY been living with clear skin and I owe it all to Magdalena. I’m moving away from Chicago soon and am so sad I won’t be able to get facials regularly with her! I didn’t believe in miracle for my skin before I found Magdalena, but I am now a believer. I had been suffering with really bad adult acne for the past year or two, and I had spent so much money on expensive treatments and products but none of those could help my skin. Nine months before my wedding, I was desperate. I decided to give her a try and it was probably the best thing I’ve done to my acne skin. Magdalena consulted and customized my facial regimen and I started using her products. I saw her one every month and I saw improvement immediately and within the next 4 months my skin was blemish free. My skin has never been better, all thanks to her. Magdalena is knowledgeable and fantastic as an aesthetician, and she is awesome as a person! I would highly recommend her!

Went to Magdalena for the first time last week based on a co-​workers recommendation. Didn’t have any specific problems to address but was looking for something to take care of the dead dry skin I felt like I accumulated over the winter. I was very impressed by the facial. My skin felt so soft and glowing that day and has looked great since. I will definitely be back.

I found Magdalena through the face reality clinic in San Francisco. She is extremely knowledgeable about acne prone skin and cleared up my skin within the first three months of seeing her. I use only face reality products and receive peel/​facials from Magdalena. The spa is very quaint with a charming salon in the front. I always feel welcome when I visit and my skin always looks amazing when I leave.

This review is long overdue. I had been breaking out terribly for over two years and didn’t know why. I went to the dermatologist, tried Proactiv, and tried facials at 2 well-​known spas in Chicago. No change. After a few months of following the régime and using the products, my condition improved and I always receive compliments about my skin. I highly recommend Magdalena.

Magdalena is a miracle worker! I came to her after my face broke out in horrible, deep, cystic acne the summer I got engaged. It was so bad, I honestly didn’t think my skin would look the same again. On my first visit, I bought a package of 5 facials and her recommended skin care line. It was a little pricey, especially when I was trying to budget for my upcoming nuptials. But having bad skin was seriously taking it’s toll on my stress levels, exacerbating the problem! I came in every month or so as she recommended. The first few times I went, it would get just a little better… then flare up just before I had another appointment. The biggest difference was in the last few facials. By the time I was done with all my facials, there was no scaring & no cystic roots. I stopped get facials, but continued with icing my face as she recommended. It took a few months, but even the pink marks from the acne are gone and there’s no evidence I ever had bad skin at all! I’ve gotten numerous compliments from friends and I can’t stop raving about what she did. I seriously exhausted other remedies and even the dermatologist and medical prescription stuff wasn’t doing the trick. On top of it, Magdalena is sweet and down to earth. She doesn’t make you feel bad for having skin problems! Highly recommend her!

I am a big fan of Magdalena and the FaceReality products she uses. She was very accommodating with my schedule, the treatment was gentle, and she was gave me some useful information to better care for my skin. I became pregnant shortly after starting my regimen, and she gladly exchanged my skin products for unmedicated ones. This is an interesting salon (more old world than modern/​chic), but the service is top notch. You will be very pleased with this experience!

I came to Magdalena in February of this year with a face full of blotchy, red, and inflamed acne. I have been battling acne for the past god-​knows-​how-​long, spent so much money on dermatologists and prescriptions and proactive to no avail. Because of Magdalena’s advice, facials, and products I can now wake up with no makeup on, go downstairs and have coffee and breakfast with my fiancé’s family without feeling self conscious. Highly highly recommend. Also… Trust her process. I didn’t see my acne totally clear until about 4 – 5 months in, but now I don’t break out consistently and if I do they are little blemishes that clear up in a day or so. Magdalena has totally improved the quality of my life!

She’s great.
Super nice and genuinely interested in learning more about her craft. She even gave me a list of ingredients to watch out for in my products!
Facial itself was standard, right on spot with what I expected.
Only odd part was that her room is in the basement with a hair salon. But I knew that going in. If she had a nicer space, the experience would be A+++! :)

I cannot recommend Magdalena (and her products) highly enough. I discovered her facial studio through a Groupon and her wonderful reviews. After having tried EVERYTHING for years, I decided to give it a try as I was getting married 4 months later. I didn’t have high hopes, but I figured it was worth a shot since nothing else was helping.
After 4 months of facials and following Magdalena’s regimen, my skin looked amazing at my wedding. I never ever ever thought that I would have gotten married and felt like I didn’t need to wear face makeup.
Even those who have long struggled with acne and feel like they’ve tried everything. I promise you, try this one last thing. It’s worth it.

My skin is acne prone (and I’m an adult!) and I will tell you, this is the BEST facial I have EVER gotten for my skin type (and I have had a lot of wonderful facials). Magdalena is fabulous and a true professional at perfecting her art! I swear, she should have a doctorate degree!
I went about a month ago for the first time (found on Groupon! my fave!) and I am so happy I snagged the Groupon up! Let me tell you, I am a «groupon girl» but I will happily pay full price to go back to Magdalena’s (that in itself says A LOT!). My skin was noticably smoother, less congested, and «cleaner»; in fact when I got home my boyfriend even commented about my «new face» (like it was a new hairstyle or something lol). Oh, and Magdelena works miracles with the extractions, too!
If you’re reading this wondering whether or not to get the Groupon deal (or any other deal) GET IT you will be SOOOOO HAPPPY! Plus, it’s in a REALLY convenient, beautiful location right off of Michigan Ave on Wacker. (I took the train)
TIP– When you find the address, YES! you are in the right spot— it is inside a residential building. If you ask the doorman he will direct you downstairs to where the shops are.

I have been going to Magdalena for a over a year and a half now and I wont trust anyone else with my face! She’s AMAZING, so amazing, I get regular compliments on how good my brows look.
When My company moved buildings I strayed for a bit due to the distance, but after about 3 months I was back… she’s the only one that can ever even out my brows and make me look well put together.
