Service at the bar was a bit slow. It was not busy however my stay was cut short by the simple fact i could not order a fresh drink when I pleased. The kitchen saved this place from a scoffing review. I had lamb sliders with blue cheese and caramelized onions. Out of this world. There was a reduction for dipping as well. Omg! The curry sauce had perfect flavor althoygh it was a little heavy. Perfect solution would be service in a larger dish to navigate the sauce. The tiny ramkibs dont make for easy dipping of the wedge cut chips. Love décor, would have liked some irish flair in the music though

They don’t need or want your business. Find another mediocre bar. Waited for 20 mins for our server who clearly had better things to do than take our order. Stay away!

Alright so — open till 3am over the weekends, a million floors, great staff, ok selection of liquor, very good food. I don’t like some of the other Fados but this one is top notch.

Up there as one of the best international Irish pubs I’ve been to(sorry rubbishy ones in Bangkok.) After using Unilocal and looking for somewhere showing the English Premier League at 8am that also does great breakfasts, Fado came up and it really didn’t disappoint(it also helped that the game was good and was a cool place to catch up with my chums) Friendly staff, great beer selection(not served until 10am for any of you booze hounds reading this…) bottomless coffee, great breakfast menu(the French toast was amazing) — it really hit the spot on all bases. They show all the matches in EPL and International games so make sure you pop in if you’re a footie/beer/breakfast fan!

Ahhh… Wonderful Irish establishment It’s teaming with Patrons. I’m settling in to watch the PSG v Manchester City Champions League match. I would say this is a great Football(Soccer) watching venue. It’s beautiful inside. Dark wood. Great bar. Very Irish in character. All the traditional UK foods and condiments that let you know they cater to people who know the UK and expect authentic touches. All the beers and Irish whiskeys one would expect. Food: I had the tomato soup… Fresh, outstanding flavor. Ruben: not traditional but the meat was perfect. I loved it. If you can’t make it to Dublin, Edinburgh, or London today… And you like UK European sports… Or If you just miss the UK and fancy a pint. This is your destination. So in summary: beautiful traditional UK establishment. Friendly and inviting social atmosphere to get traditional UK fare and a respectful geographically accurate beverage selection. RMM

Fado is a pretty great Irish bar! Fado is exactly what I’ve hoped to find when looking specifically for an Irish bar. The beer selection is great. The atmosphere is rowdy, but in a good way. I haven’t had their food, but I would suspect that it’s good. If you’re looking for a bar where everyone is happy and could potentially break out in folk song, Fado is a perfect pick! The live traditional Irish band playing upstairs won my allegiance to Fado. They were great!

Stumbled across this place as it was raining and we really wanted brunch!(Thanks Unilocal for informing me of their brunch menu) They serve brunch and $ 3 mimosas until 3pm. What a cool place! Downstairs is a traditional pub. There’s another bar upstairs w live music. We had the breakfast quesadilla(I requested it vegetarian style), Fados pub burger, and The Hangover. The food was really good! My friend didn’t care for the rasher bacon on The Hangover and said it was too tough… But he had not had it before. Just not what he expected. Also… It was a sandwich and we didnt expect it to be. Either way… We enjoyed the bloody marys and the atmosphere. Wait staff was friendly. A little relaxed, but it was the day after the St Pattys Day festivities… So what is expected!!!

One of my co-workers won some sort of contest here and we were given free booze and appetizers. The food was okay and so was the beer. Loved the casual vibe. It’s where you go for a beer and some hearty food.

Frist real stop for food in Chicago started here. I’ve always loved a good irish pub to relax and grab a few drinks but this place kicked it up a notch. For the the beer here is really good. I was drinking on Revolution Jukebox Hero, which is a local brew in the Chicago area. I was feeling hungry for a burger which exceeded my expectations. I had gotten the bacon Cheeseburger Mid-well. The burger was so juicy and tender it was melting in my mouth. The fries that came with it were good as well. My brother got the Fish n Chips which looked extremely good as well. The ambience of the place was great and our bartender was friendly and got me in the right direction as I am a outsider lol.

Nice casual pub in ever sense of the word. You can stop in to just get a few drinks or a small bite and everything in between. They have live music upstairs on the weekends, and I think other nights too, and its always very enjoyable. I’ve never felt rush to leave our table and I think to service is great. The owners have really made this chain restaurant their own.

Nice, busy, friendly Irish pub in the River North neighborhood. Service was prompt and the drink selection was robust. This is a multi-level restaurant and even though it was packed when I went there late on a Friday night, we were still seated right away at a table upstairs. It’s a solid, casual place to grab a drink or two.

Amazing slow cooked lamb sandwich with a house made jus on the side! Great fish and chips, awesome bartenders, football(soccer) games on every screen! Nothing you don’t need. An Irish pub doesn’t get any better than this.

I came late for the after-after party for a work event, the atmosphere of the Fado bars is fun with an old-school wood feel. The ground floor was rather crowded with work colleagues but there was enough room for them to stumble around wasted. A Guinness was all I asked for and it was standard. Not horribly loud on a Thursday night! I would only be able to tolerate this type of bar with close friends.

I am not one for chains. That being said, Fado is an exception for me. Their Irish coffee is the best around, period. It doesn’t matter if you’re ordering it in Austin, Chicago, Philly, or wherever a Fado resides. Chances are good it will be consistent with all locations in it’s deliciousness and excellent presentation. In fact, for the first time in my many Fado Irish coffee experiences, I got to see it put together right before my eyes. Maria, who was our fantastic server, poured their in-house-made whip cream and proceeded to put their trademark Fado logo cinnamon swirls right on top. It only added to our enjoyment of the drink. I have yet to introduce Fado’s Irish coffee to anyone who hasn’t liked it. I’ve had Irish coffees at other places, restaurants and even high end cocktail bars. None were close to the one they do here. When in search of an Irish coffee, accept no substitute, come here and you’ll find the best.

If it says, Guinness, on your establishment, then I’m going to seriously consider stopping by. My friend had actually visited this bar during his previous visit and recommended that we stop in. We did and I’m glad. There were quite a few floors of space but since it was a busy night, we were grateful to find ourselves a table on the second floor. We’d also eaten so we took advantage of the Guinness Mix Menu. Black & Black was my favorite. We also got to share a moist chocolate dessert with ice cream that evening. I can’t recall what it was but I would recommend trying it as it was a near perfect way to end the evening.

I would be hard-pressed to find something I dont like about this place. I strolled in on a Sunday to watch the tail-end of a EPL match in which people were getting into it and I love that. Shortly following that match being completed a traditional Irish band started up in the corner of the bar. The manager switched the tvs to the local NFL game with no sound and the music provided the backdrop. Kickass if you ask me. The beers are chilled to perfection. The food was tasty. The staff were amazing. The bartender in his thick Iris brogue took my credit card and referred to me as Josh each time he asked me if I needed anything… thats a first and it was fantastic! This might be my new local. Its awesome.

I don’t usually go out to eat around this area, but my dad was in town and staying at a hotel on Clark and Chicago. This was his choice – he loves fish and chips, shepards pie, all that good Irish fare. Fado’s menu is pretty small; it includes all the traditional stuff. They even have lunch portions of most of the large entrée items. Both me and my dad ordered the lunch sized fish and chips. It was just the right amount of food, I didn’t leave feeling overstuffed or gross. The atmosphere was a little hazy and dark – the kind where you can’t really tell what time it is outside; definitely prime bar ambiance. The place is a little crowded, so if you have a lot of shopping bags from the nearby Magnificent Mile, beware. Also, they only have one bathroom stall for the men. This didn’t affect me, but I know it pissed my dad off. Overall, pretty reasonably priced, good beer selection.

Very nice place! My wife and I went in for lunch last weekend and the service at the bar was quick n friendly. They had a pretty decent beer selection, good enough for a meal and appetizers for sure. We shared the lamb sliders which were cooked awesomely and tasted delicious. Also the porkbelly tacos and the thick cut fries. Everything was delicious and were hoping to go back and try some of the other bigger items on the menu. Super nice looking place also and it was cool ta watch a Bears game and some soccer at the same time. My wife had their Ginger Beer with a shot of Jameson either and highly recommends it. Oh and speaking of Jameson, the shots were very cheap compared to an average $ 9 a shot down the street anywhere. Highly recommend this place, very close to Union Station, $ 5 cab ride from there or 10min walk on a nice day. Cant wait to go back.

Bravo! My boyfriend and I checked this place out for the first time the other night for happy hour /dinner. I work in the industry, and was curious about all the talk I’ve been hearing from co-workers saying that this place was the real deal. This place is the real deal. If you are looking for some GREAT irish pub food and great service look no further. Kelly our server was AWESOME. Genuine and great recommendations. Don’t think twice about the chicken and shrimp boxy, just do it, your life will be changed. We can’t wait to come back! Thanks Fado!

Went there for a soccer game — UEFA Champions League finals. The pub was full booked, we hardly found a place to seat even though we were there more than one hour in advance. Despite the crowd, waiters were nice, friendly and everything we ordered came quite fast. We had couple beers and starters there, which all tasted great and were good for value. Finally, the atmosphere is nice and the inside of the pub looks really good. I’ll get back there soon. Good place for sport events.

If I could rank this place any higher, I would! I stumbled across this bar with my friends while we were looking for a place to watch some of the NCAA tournament. We walked in, and I instantly fell in LOVE with this place. Beautiful Irish bar. Waitstaff was outstanding. Food was fantastic. The crowd was fun. And their was an OUTSTANDING Irish band that was playing. I was in heaven. It turned out to be a perfect Sunday funday! So, the food. We started off with the jalapeño jack stuffed cheese puffs. SO good. I would highly recommend them! They are so hard to describe… but yummy. And not too spicy. I had the bacon cheeseburger mor — it did not disappoint! My friends had the TV dinner, spinach salad and quesadilla. We were all members of the clean plate club. Let me get back to that awesome Irish band that was playing. They were so INCREDIBLE! Next time I am back in Chicago, I would love go back to this place.

We came to Chicago for a conference which started the day after St. Paddy’s Day, so we decided to come a day early and take part in some festivities. We arrived around 11 am(they opened at 9 that morning due to the holiday) and took a seat upstairs on the landing in the corner of the bench seat. It was busy at this point, but not packed. We ordered two large pints and some food. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive the whole time we were there. I ordered the lamb french dip and my husband ordered the fish and chips. I have not tasted a french dip this good in… well, ever I don’t think! I love lamb and this was absolutely perfect! The au jus was a wonderful complement as well. The thick cut fries were hot and crispy. It was messy and just absolutely delicious! The fish and chips were also really well done. The cod was fresh, wild caught, and fried perfectly. After about an hour, the place really started to fill up. By the time we left there at 1:30 ish it was PACKED and in full swing!
