Setting: Hungry customer, coupon in hand, descending into the dark recesses of 100 S. Wacker. Customer orders«special» of 2 pieces of chicken and 1 side with a soda«real cheap»! Outcome: 1 Leg /thigh(that is 2 pieces and for godsake they weren’t just about to close”!), greasy side of rice and vegetables, flat soda. If oil is a way to cover up bland tasting food — my meal would’ve taken the cake! I should’ve known better when I saw the«baked» chicken swimming in oil that this was not going to be good. When I sat down to eat, I discovered to my delight that the rice was also swimming in obviously not it’s own juices and my diet Pepsi was not only calorie free but tasteless! I was complicit in the bad meal deal by not asking for a refund but by eating the W H O L E thing! So, my responsibility was to say«no», their’s — be more attentive to the customer and offer better food. I’ve eaten there before and have been fairly satisfied — I’ll give them one more try… to be continued!

I went to this place because it was pouring outside and I figured I’d stay in the buidling for lunch. I get in there and there is absolutely no method to the madness. It’s a free-for-all of customers calling out orders, I waited at least 10 minutes for my sandwich and another 5 in line to pay. Then, after my sandwich was finally made the person says«Would you like fries or rice?» So, I tell her fries — only to find out at the cashier that fries are not included. So my $ 3.99 sandwich is now $ 5.50 and I could have officially gone to Subway and gotten chips with a sub for cheaper. The fries were bland and had a mushy texture, the chicken parmesan was on a tastless bun and was extremely salty — and I love salt. I won’t be back. I don’t recommend you go either. You can get an equally unhealthy, but much better tasting McDouble with a Small Fry at McDonald’s, with better service for $ 3 cheaper.

Okay so its a little mom and pop diner that just so happens to be conveniently located right downstairs from my job. The place will grow on you if you give it a chance. Here are my best food choices: #1: Chicken Caesar Salad(sad to say but best I’ve ever had) #2: The Woodstock(breakfast sandwich with toasted bread, egg, cheese and turkey sausage) #3: The Fish Sandwich with pepperjack cheese #4: The Cream of Turkey Soup The pancakes are good and Harvey’s cheese eggs are super yummy! I subsitute vegetable juice for breakfast most days so I don’t get breakfast here too often anymore but for breakfast, if you work around here during the week, its a great option!

They make an excellent egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich. Get it on a croissant. For lunchtime, the baked chicken is hard to beat.

How can someone screw up a cheeseburger, right? Well, all the patties are pre-cooked and sit next to the grill. When you order a burger, they reheat it by cooking it again on the grill. The result is a small, dry piece of grey meat. I’ve had their turkey with gravy over stuffing and it wasn’t bad at the time. The rest of the afternoon though, my mouth felt like it was coated in salt. Yeah, don’t eat here if you have high blood pressure. On the positive side, the BLT’s aren’t bad and most lunches are under $ 5.

Ugh. This place is across the street from my office. I’ve gone a few times when I needed to stay close, and have always been disappointed. The bread used to make sandwiches is often stale, the soups are too broth-y, the vegetables clearly come out of a can, and the entrees are kept on a «warming line» and often come out cold. I’ve put up with it a few times, but today’s new low of red snapper that was still frozen in the middle but completely dry on the outside is enough. I won’t be back. Roti is right across the bridge if you want good food, and if you need variety, go to the food court at the Ogilvie train station. Anywhere but this joint.
