I love this festival! This is one of few street festivals that I actually look forward to every year. Unlike most festivals in Chicago, this one is giagantic! They have two stages that have bands and perfomers. In the park inside the fest there are also activities for either kids or performances to watch. Fiesta del Sol is also cigarette and alcohol free. Yes, sounds strange… festival but no booze? You don’t really need it here. This festival is very family friendly and has something for everyone. Now lets really get to what I like about this festival… THEFOOD!!! Unbelieveable tacos, sopes, elotes, and well pretty much any Mexican dish. The food is made fresh and won’t put a huge dent in your wallet. Take that other festivals!!! I bought 7 tacos and a paleta all for 11 bucks… not too shabby! When was the last time you went to a street festival where you didn’t shell out at least 20 bucks? Also there is no admission! Great food, cheap prices, great music, fun times… what is not to like???

I had the take out taco special which was verrry fresh and tasty. 3STEAKAND2CHICKEN. Very clean and the hostess was very friendly and attentive. It’s BYOB and I am def going back to sample the menu items which if as good as the tacos will be exciting. BTW — prices are SUPER reasonable.

Excellent choice. Friendly, fresh, and fun place to dine. My 5 yr old and I stopped on a rainy night trying to get to Midway. What a pleasure. She had Huevos Rancheros(breakfast served anytime). We both shared some hand made corn tortillas, best I have ever had. No alcohol, very kid friendly, but not in an ihop manner.

Finally had the chance to stop in at this local eatery. The place seems to be doing fine and is working to maxmize its location. I stopped in for a late lunch, the manager(owner?) greeted me and said to take a seat and the waitress would be right over. Very friendly staff. I ordered the steak gorditas dinner(2 gorditas, rice & beans) and a bottle of Coke(Mexican Coke, made with sugar not HFCS). While waiting for my meal, was served complimentary chips & salsa and a cup of soup. Soup was decent pasta style, chips were warmed and the salsa was also served warm & spicy, a favorite of mine. Gorditas arrived looking very appetizing, homemade shell, good looking meat and condiments. Was very happy with taste and presentation. I ate the first gordita with my hands, attempted 2nd with fork & knife. Very good stuff! Place is currently«cash only», but will be accepting credit cards soon. Am very happy with Fiesta del Sol and will be adding it to my list of local places to get a delicious & reasonably priced meal! They are open at 8am everyday and seem to be doing a brisk breakfast business, will have to check-in for that soon, Just hoping that they do better than the two previous restaurants on Blue Island Avenue that barely lasted a year!
