I went to this store with my daughter on Memorial Day to find a new pair of gym shoes. She found the pair she wanted, and we informed the clerk. As he brought out the shoes, he flung the box to the floor about 20 feet behind the bench on which we were seated. He also began a spiel about special insoles for the shoe to «preserve the shoe» and increase the comfort of the shoe«b/c these shoes really need it». As my daughter tried on the shoes, we realized they weren’t the style we originally asked for, although the patterned colors were similar. He eventually brought out the requested pair, put the same insoles in the shoes while talking incessantly about the quality of the insole. We decided to purchase the shoes, and when we checked out, the final dollar amount was far greater than I anticipated. When I questioned why the total was so high, he told me the insoles cost $ 25(1⁄3rd the price of the shoes). I told him that he never explained the price of the insoles and that he had really alluded to the insoles being free of charge, and part of the shoe. Needless to say, the service was crappy, the sneakiness of trying to sell me an insole without explaining the price was improper, and the general disarray of the store(multiple marks were on the benches, inventory trays/shelves were littered about the store, plastic debris was everywhere) are factors that reduce the chance that I’ll be venturing back into that branch of foot locker.

My husband wanted to look at a few things and we decided to check out this location. Immediately we noticed the spacious store, new styles, fully stocked and very well organized store. He found a nice pair of shorts on sale for a great price! It wasn’t what we came in for, but a great buy.

As the winter slowly departs from this city of blistering cold and spring ushers it’s way into Chicago I decided it was time for some new shoes. Upon going to footlocker I was greeted by Brittany and Laron whose service was what customer service is made of. First of all it takes a good eye to know when to follow a customer around and when to let them breath and make a decision. Laron showed my two versions of the D. Rose’s, both of which I liked but had distinct differences. My feet are flat and Laron explained that if I was going to play basketball in them that he would go with the version with the arched padding for the foot, something small but it showed attention to detail on his part. They did not have my size in but he explained that I could order the shoe and even let me try on a similar shoe for sizing adjustments. At the register Brittany was fast and courteous something that we are missing in retail these days. Such a great experience needs to get posted where all can see as I was thoroughly impressed. Picked the shoes up already and a young lady with dreads assisted me and what do you know, she was cursed with the same great customer service. Hats off to this location.
