What happened? I’ll tell you what happened they changed chefs and went plummeting to the ground. At first I thought maybe they were having an off day so I gave them another shot and guess what? They still sucked! Shortly after I ran into their old chef at his new place of employment and it all made sense. Won’t be returning there.

Go for the American food, the Mexican food is just so-so. I love their burgers and skinny fries. Their tacos leave something to be desired. The breakfast food is good, but greasy, so excellent for hang overs. I prefer to take out as the atmosphere of the restaurant itself is kind of cold and sterile.

Absolutely amazing service every time. My husband left his expensive camera there after picking up food and went back about an hour later and they were holding it in the back for him. The tacos are DELICIOUS. The asada tacos are so yummy. The burritos look massive and delicious.

The food sounded good and I was excited to try it. So i got a burger to go. When i got home i cut it in half and the inside was raw. So much for medium well.

The food wasn’t all that great… And it’s kinda expensive. It wasn’t horrible but I wouldn’t recommend the place and would not be going again. I got tater tots as a side and I think this was the first place where I didn’t like the tots, how do you ruin tater tots… I got the turkey burger and it was ok kind plain tasting.

The quality in their steak burrito is outstanding. My problem is ordering for pickup… every single time I order for pick up there is a issue. I have to repeat my order several times before they understand it. Apparently if you order the burrito with frijoles it’s a «special order»?!? Foods good but patience is wearing thin with their ordering system…

I was not expecting such a tasty homemade soup when I came here on a Tuesday night hoping for some quick but decent food. I ordered a bowl of soup and was so very pleasantly surprised when The server brought a huge bowl of freshly cooked soup with amazing ingredients. The zucchini, chicken, carrots and corn were all cooked perfectly and the broth was very tasty. The salad I ordered was good and a huge serving as well. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his chicken salad burrito and has leftovers for tomorrow since it was so big and filling. I’m glad to have found an inexpensive but quality establishment that I can stop in to grab food from.

I eat here all the time given the proximity to my place and limited options in the area. I hate to say but subway is probably the best place to eat in the area with the exception of ‘Begin’ Thai restaurant., sad. Gotten breakfast, Mexican, and American. Food is pretty decent but not always quick. The tacos are way better than the burrito and they are huge. Burgers are good and breakfast portions you can eat all day. Has much greater potential though. FYI This place is very clean and has the nicest bathroom I’ve seen for a fast food type place. Come for the bathroom and stay for a taco

Many people in Chicago have an underdog that they like to support. For many people it is the Cubs. For me it is Garden Grille. Get the steak tacos here. You’ll be very satisfied. The flavor of the steak, fresh tortillas, tomatoes, cheese and cilantro are a rare pleasure for $ 2.

Burgers are better than chicken entrees, as the amount of chicken can e skimpy. Salads are trustworthy.

I’ve eaten here several times. I live about a block away and it’s nice to have a solid mexican option close to the house. I generally stick with the tacos(the pastor tacos are the best IMO). They offer a variety of food options: burgers, burritos, and breakfast all day. My roommate has gotten the Mexican-Avocado burger and he liked it. **Note** — Call in your order ahead of time and pick it up. Every time that I’ve ordered at the location itself, it has taken quite a bit of time for the food to be ready. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as I’ve never had an issue with the freshness of the food. The last time I got chips and guacamole, I saw the cook behind the counter make it from scratch. Another bonus is that the people working there are very friendly and appreciative of my business.

So i live a block from this place and it looked promising, being a vegetarian I have learned to work with places that are meat heavy and I usually find something tasty. I was hoping they would at least have a veggie burger on the menu, or at least knowledge on how to make a proper veggie taco. I told them to throw some beans and avocado on them and we’d be golden, but when i got home to devour them all i got was salad tacos. raw mushrooms, cheese, lettuce, spinach, tomato, and a crap ton of onions. Now I have eaten delicious veggie/avocado tacos at many different mexican joints, but these were bland bland bland. even the verde didn’t do anything. no beans, no crema, or avocado. luckily i made it a meal so there was beans with it, the rice was flavorless. but the chips were good, nice and crispy, double-layered, but yeah, was kinda disappointed.

This place is now re-opened. My boyfriend and I live a block from here and randomly stopped in a few nights ago because we were indecisive about what to get for dinner. The food was really reasonable and all-around solid. Among the two of us we tried the Mexican/Avocado cheeseburger, a grilled chicken salad, and steak tacos. All were pretty solid choices and the ingredients were actually super fresh, which I feel is a plus for this place over other fast-food-ish type of places. The only tiny complaint is that the salad ingredients were chopped into really big chunks, making it kind of difficult to eat with a plastic fork. But again, all the ingredients were really fresh and tasty so I can’t really complain. We also met who I think is the owner. She was really warm and friendly and invited us back the next day for a ton of free food and drinks at their opening party, which was a nice little bonus. Overall I think it’s a nice addition to that stretch of Armitage.

I was kind of excited for a new mexican place close to my apartment, however this place doesn’t fit the bill. I ordered a Bacon Lovers Cheese burger and a Steak taco(had to get over $ 10 for credit cards) They must thaw the burgers beforehand because it was Complete mush. They were obviously frozen and low quality. I’m kind of glad I ordered it rare but received it well done. The tomato had a big black spot on it and was still included. The french fries were under cooked, and the taco was more Cilantro than anything else. for $ 12 I was severely disappointed. Won’t give them a second chance. I’ll stick with the snobs over at Subway.
