Manager there was not interested in solving a problem we were having with the DJ. That’s OK, plenty of other places to go to.

this is a hidden gem. It is upstairs from N9ne Steakhouse. Cool factor without the too cool attitude. I celebrated my birthday here and it was one of the best nights ever! I know a few people in the industry, and was able to score the best booth in the house. The area had couches and was very roomy and convenient. The service was awesome, and the manager was a really cool guy who went out of his way to make sure the clientel was happy. The music was really good, with a DJ and basic hits being played, which I appreciate. The décor is just fabulous. Very swanky without pretension. Bottle service was efficient, and our server kept it coming. I also ordered a few drinks from the bar, and YUM, let me tell you. I spend a lot of money on good drinks and food, and I was not disappointed here whatsoever. If you are looking for a sophisticated place to spend some money and do some dancing this is your spot.

Ghostbar is an overpriced and«wannabe» swanky joint. I went for a large social event where everyone was classy and spending big bucks, but we somehow managed to receive horrible service. Our bartender, Dion(yes, I called him out) was super rude and clearly hadn’t had any customer service training. It was bad enough that the drinks were overpriced and very weak, but then to have Dion go off on me and my friends was the most uncouth thing I have ever experienced. This particular individual about whom Dion was complaining was charged $ 18 for a Remy and cranberry juice, which is ridiculous. I can only assume that is the reason the individual tipped lightly. But, that was none of my business because my friends and I had been leaving hefty tips all evening. When I asked Dion for another drink he asked who the drink was for because he didn’t get tipped properly from the other individual and proceeded to snap, «THAT’S HOW I MAKEMYMONEYBABY!» From that point on, Dion proceeded to ignore us for the rest of the evening. When I finally got his attention to order another drink, despite his rude treatment of us, he had the audacity to say, «I’m busy, I’m working!» I was thinking damn, I wasn’t about to ask for your number, I just want service like every other paying customer. When we left, we spoke to the manager, she did nothing, but claimed she would speak to Dion, which I doubt she ever did. So, Dion, if you read this, that is if you can read, sweetheart, I work hard too, but luckily my livelihood isn’t dependent upon other people’s generosity. However, since yours is, you need to check your attitude and keep shucking and jiving in the way your occupation requires. Otherwise, when you get tired of pouring beer and wine for folks consider going back to school. I’m a college professor, I can be your tutor…

Ghostbar is like a Fannee Doolee for me(if you remember the original Zoom, you know what I’m talking about…) So, in Fannee Doolee speak: Sabrina M. loves N9NE, but *hates* Ghostbar! Each time I’ve been to N9NE, I’ve enjoyed it. And there was a time when Ghostbar was this cool little spot tucked away upstairs to hang out after you ate. I remember when there was a dedicated VIP section with boldname eye candy who would hang out — Michael Jordan, John Cusack, etc. And I also remember when the drinks were innovative and they used to put a little glow int he dark ghost-shaped swizzle stick in the drinks. Alas, those days appear to be gone forever. Whenever I’ve gone to Ghostbar recently it’s been for friends’ birthday parties. The space itself is still cool, comfy seats, great dance floor and a great DJ. It’s the bar that ruins the experience. Maybe it’s a sign of the economy but are they ever going to put more than two bartenders up there when it’s crowded? Or at least put two up there who can actually handle the crowds? I’m also a firm believer that the only time a bartender should have an attitude is when they’re making the best drinks in the city. A lackluster $ 11 vodka tonic(made with Gilkey’s no less!) slammed on the bar by a pissed off bartender would not count as one of the best drinks in the city. I go to the other end of the bar for my next drink and it was no better. First, I had to wait until the guy finished flirting with everybody and finally made his way over to me. This time I got a vodka gimlet and it was still crappy and still $ 11. You can eat at the bar as well but when it’s as hot and crowded as Mumbai, you don’t really want to go there. And your food might be cold. And no one will really care. It’s pretty much like this all the time. Better off to stay downstairs and get drinks and food from there. Love N9NE; hate Ghostbar.

We made the trip to Ghostbar after NYE dinner nearby. I was looking for a relatively inexpensive option after dinner, other than a $ 150 open bar. Ghostbar was perfect. For $ 25, they were offering heavy hors d’oeuvres, DJ and a champagne toast. I was impressed, I kind of wished I hadn’t eaten dinner after I saw the full beef tenderloin burgers, chicken kabobs, etc. that were being passed around. I’m used to walking into places where«hors d’oeuvres» is actually aluminum trays of cold chicken fingers and ravioli a la church picnic. The atmosphere was stylish and trendy. Service was prompt and friendly, and I was really happy when I saw that they did not block off all the tables for bottle service. It’s nice to be able to relax and people watch in a seated position sometimes. It was an interesting mix of people, as some others have mentioned, but it just added to the entertainment factor. Plenty of room for dancing and mingling. The drinks were pricey, but not more than I’ve come to expect to pay at any lounge/club. Overall a great experience.

GhostBar. Very odd mix of people on my evening out here. Ghetto fabulous, trashy, sexy, sleazy, drunk, dirty. I wasn’t overly impressed by the crowd and it seemed as though everyone was in these small break-out groups all over the lounge instead of mingling, dancing, etc. The lounge looks really cool and the seating is plentiful but I just didn’t get a good vibe from the crowd and everyone seemed to be having a mediocre time. the music is too loud for the space. I would suggest checking this place out because I can imagine that it’s hit or miss. Drinks are pricey so pace yourself:) BUT no minimum on opening a tab so that’s a plus. Our server was nice and attentive and even played photographer for our group. PS. we found a taxi right away but I guess it’s luck of the draw.

Came here on someone else’s dime(vendor event!) and they had the whole place rented. Awesome décor, plenty of space to stand and sit, and deliciously strong drinks in giant glasses(awesome). Really nice staff, too. Not pretentious at all. Finding a cab is a bitch afterwards, so walk back to the loop or call for one. Otherwise, you’ll be waiting for a while.

I agree with my fellow Unilocalers – why has no one reviewed this place? This place is very cool, very chic. But minus the Cooler-Than-Thou attitude and douchebaggery. Perfect! I just had my birthday party here last weekend, and it was a really fun night! My boyfriend knows a girl who works here, so she reserved a table for us, but somehow I don’t think it would be too difficult to reserve one on your own. We had a very comfortable and spacious area with couches and a couple tables, which was great. Katie, our server, was very sweet and attentive. She even gave us a round of shots! The manager is also a really great guy, he came over several times to see how we were doing and to make sure we were having a good time. We had bottle service, which was more convenient since we had a big crowd. The great thing about Ghostbar is that they do NOT have a maximum limit on how many people per bottle, like lots of other places that provide bottle service. I also had a martini from the bar, and DAMN those bartenders are generous! The birthday girl was feelin’ good! As far as I know, they also do not charge cover! Yay! The music was a nice mix – a bit more low-key earlier in the evening, then followed by Top 40ish stuff and some blasts from the past, all very danceable! They have a DJ and a dance floor. A great place to hang with friends if you are looking for something a bit swankier than the average bar. I think anyone could feel comfortable here, as it was a very mixed crowd. I will definitely be back! Thanks Ghostbar for making my birthday celebration memorable!

This bar is generally speaking a bit too cool for me, but I still had a pretty good time here. The drinks are pricy but daaaaaamn strong. I got no pretentious feel from this place whatsoever, and I found it actually very comfortable. I liked the design, vibe, and music being played. I was almost tempted to dance, and I never dance… it would ruin everybody else’s good time if I did. The weird part was that at about 1am a bus must have pulled up out front to take everybody away because suddenly the number of people plummeted by about 75%.

Disclosure: I have a friend who promotes for this club. That being what it is, I honestly have to say that I had a really good time here. The décor is swanky chic without being über-pretentious. I only drank beer & champagne, so I can’t really vouch for the drinks, but from the sips I had of the flavored martinis? Delicious. It’s upstairs from N9ne, which I have never patronized, but perhaps I will some night prior to coming here. The crowd was lively, a mix of socialite meets indie cool meets industry meets the occasional surprise(an older woman with a dog in her purse, for example, or a Hollywood celebrity, as another). If I’m looking for a night on the town that’s a step up from the pubs, I’ll definitely go back to Ghostbar.
