In town for a conference, and rented an apartment in Ukrainian village. Of course our 9-month-old would get sick for the first time ever on his first plane trip. Dr. Munez was the closest pediatrician to our apartment, and the best option b/c we didn’t rent a car. The office isnt particularly modern or nice, but the nurses were great and Dr. Munez was kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. $ 40 for the visit b/c our insurance was out of area. A really, really, nice man.

Dr. Munez I feel like shit can you see me today? «Yeah, c’mon in and you have a little wait» How many times have I heard that from this man? More than I can remember. I love this doctor. He’s practically seen me grow up and although he’s primarily a pediatrician, I still go to him now that I’m not exactly considered a child(legally anyway). He’s mostly there as a general doctor but since he’s also affiliated with Norwegian American Hospital, he gives you quick referrals for labs and things of the sort. His hours can be a little crazy and inconvenient at times but he knows his shit. I can’t say the same for his receptionists though. Those ladies need a lesson in people skills. They’re rude and they don’t really want you to be there in the first place. One time I stumbled in on the verge of sobbing from flu like symptoms and I asked them if the doctor had any openings…“No, the doctor’s out of town until the 16th. Come back then” Are you kidding me? I was so weak I couldn’t give her a piece of my mind. So I asked what about the other doctor that works in this office? Does he have any openings? «No he’s on a different schedule so he’s clearing out his patients and he’s leaving.» Do you know of any other doctors in the area? «Yeah there’s one a couple blocks away.» Uhhh, do you know WHERE? «I don’t know the streets». WOW, you were absolutely NO help but thank you. He accepts walk-ins but get there early because there are about five other people waiting and he works on a «first come, first serve» basis. He charges a fairly reasonable consultation fee of $ 30 w/o insurance so it’s a bargain compared to the other doctor(I had visit when he was out of town) that charged $ 50. So I marked down one star because of his hours not because of his receptionists. It’s not fair to punish Dr. Munez for their incompetence.
