Dr. Alt was there for my daughter when she became depressed during college. He was available, concerned, compassionate, and effective. He managed to get her through her dark times to the other side, and she is now a happy, healthy, living adult, because of him. My wife and I are eternally grateful to him. From the viewpoint of this physician and parent, Howard Alt is the epitome of what a psychiatrist ought to be.

I normally don’t write comment on Unilocal but I really think the only other comment is unfair. I am Asian girl too and college student, Dr alt treats me respectfully with great patience. I really love my doctor. I have been working with him for more than a half year now. Dr Alt, who has 40 years experience with his job, is a great wise man. He successfully treats my depression and every time if I tend to be depressed, he will notice that immediately. Every session seems like just casual talking but he will capture the most important detail you said and get the idea where you are at. The anti-depressant he gave to me worked really well, he knows the right kind for you right away. His office is peaceful and artistic. I really enjoy working with him. For those of you who are reading this, I highly recommend to give it a try. Seriously, it helps me so much.

I got antidepressant from him. We talked for 3 – 4 times. And I don’t know whether it’s because I’m a young student/Asian girl or something else. I just felt like he couldn’t care less about me. I had some bad side effects from the medication, and I was out of town at the time. So I wrote an email describing what had been happened. I waited for almost 3 weeks for him to got back to me. He said let’s set a time to meet. And it was very difficult to schedule a time with him because he seemed always busy. And I just fractured my ankle at that day. Don’t have crutches yet. But he still wanted me to come see him knowing that I couldn’t walk. when we finally had an appointment. I took an expensive taxi ride and crutched there. He’s not in the office. I called him. Turned out that he totally forgot about me. I told him I was in front of his office. He said sorry, he’s in a car to the airport! He then said:“why don’t we talk on the phone right now?” I was standing on crutches with one foot in the hall way and he’s in a car to the airport. He just wanted to talk like that!!! I felt that he was very disrespectful.
