We came here to celebrate my bf’s birthday. We ordered the chef’s choice sashimi, which was heavenly! I found their sushi ok, but their dessert that had chocolate ice cream was one of the best I’ve had(in general I’m not a fan of chocolates). Although we knew this was a slightly pricier restaurant, the food was still more expensive than I expected. Maybe it does cost a ton to have such fresh fish in Chicago.

Best sushi place in Chicago along with Momotaro. Very unassuming restaurant /interior design, but the food is mouthwatering. Both the nigiri and maki are out of this world. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, and the service is top notch. Will 100% be coming back.

4.49: Best sushi in Chicago(potentially universe #Humans1Aliens0). A truly sexual dining experience. The nigiri was so mouthblowing I almost lost my tongue during the meal. Highly recommend the Ake Ebi, an Argentinian«sweet prawn» piece that was like nothing I’ve ever tasted before. Every bite of sushi our company had was followed by a minute of silence — unclear if it was to mourn the delightful fish’s death or to absorb the slight orgasm that had just passed through our bodies. Even the spicy tuna maki was out of this world. Only reason I’m giving this place a 4.49 is because of the interior vibe and the fairly slow, untimely service. They like to tease. Definitely coming back though and may modify my review afterwards.

The omakase was very good. All of the cuts of fish were very fresh and the atmosphere was simple and clean.

This is one the best sushi I’ve tried in the city, the place is amazing and service is on top, for your on a date this would be an ideal place. We tried the scallops and after the first bite our faces were like we were having an orgasm a culinary one lol, don’t miss them for anything in the world, sushi is absolutely delicious, and if you want a special try the boneless chicken wings.

Came into town with some friends, unsure of where to eat… decided on sushi. Had an absolutely transcendent experience. Eddie took fantastic care of us and it was perhaps the most memorable meal I’ve ever had in Chicago. Would highly recommend to any people looking for a great night out with friends.

Great sushi place! Cute date night out. They have a front room, but really it’s the back room that’s much larger, so the restaurant looks a lot smaller than it actually is. Ni ether of us are sushi«experts» but we have a general idea of what we like and don’t like, so we ordered chef’s choice nigiri and a spicy tuna roll and both were fantastic. Waitress explained what each piece was and which ones were going to have a stronger taste. It is a little pricier, there are certainly sushi places that are cheaper,(that if you were just interested in trying sushi somewhere to see if you like it, you should probably go somewhere else), but this quality of sushi is fantastic

Horrible service. We made reservations for the omakase menu and the reservationists didn’t know that the chef was off for that day and had our reservation cancelled. They said they will give us an industry discount which we are industry already. I asked for an additional discount and they said they will call me back to let me know if we were going to get it or not. Never called me back. I had to call them back and they said we will not get an additional discount. I take it they don’t like doing business so why even stay open?

Really great sushi. Ordered the chefs choice nigiri and it was perfect. The fish was really fresh and really delicious. Ordered a Mushroom Ramen that was also perfect. Great tasting broth. I do wish they kept a divider between the Kitchen and the dining room in the back of the restaurant. It is a little bit distracting in the difference in lighting between the kitchen and the dining room so it kinda distracts from otherwise good ambiance.

Just moved out here from Los Angeles. My mom is Japanese so I know my sushi. The sashimi Chef BK is amazing! By far my favorite sushi spot in Chicago. The sashimi is the best in the city. My favorite are the Tako Maguro and the Ebi. If my mom is ever in town I’m taking her here!

Order the chef’s choice sashimi, selected by sushi chef Park. It is served over ice decorated with shells and orchids. It’s $ 38 for 18 pieces of fish(two each of nine different kinds). This fish is perfectly sliced and served with Juno’s house soy sauce.

Any review other than 5 stars for Juno is insanity For $ 40 you will have half an orgasm with the chefs choice nigiri as each piece is consecutively the best piece of sushi you’ve ever had. I mean unless you’ve been to Japan or something. Look I’m not exaggerating I’ve been everywhere. This is the best sushi in Chicago.

3⁄5 Came here Sunday night on a whim and was seated right away as there were only a few other patrons. I really wish I had known the price tag, or I would’ve definitely gone elsewhere for the quality. The quality of fish was good, but not quite all there to be worth the price. The uni shooter was one of the best I’ve had without that iodine-y flavor. The sauce that accompanied the uni was very savory, but was sad the small shooter was only $ 10 a piece. Next came the smoked Hamachi and this was very ingenuitive. The 2 piece of Hamachi was incased in a glass dome of smoke, absorbing all the flavors until the server removed the dome and the smoke dissipated on the table. This was a great opening to the dining experience. Next I had the grilled sweetbreads since this isn’t normally on a Japanese menu. I found this to be the only«decent» size portion on their cold/hot menu. The sweeatbreads surprisingly didn’t have any gamey flavors and was enjoyed with the small bits of pork cubes(belly?). All other hot/cold plates were a bite size piece and avoided the rest. Yes, I understand quality over quantity, but I wouldn’t spend that much money again for their meal as I’ll explain below. I ordered the chef’s choice sashimi and was not thrilled at all. I had a decent amount of food and drinks from the smoked Hamachi, yet all the fish tasted like smoke. Every piece of fish had that smokey flavor and was hard to truly appreciate each individual taste: especially the otoro. I couldn’t figure where the smokiness was coming from since the server swapped all our plates and the only deduction I could come up with was that it came from the kitchen. This was a big no-no and was disappointed to have a great cut masked by smoked flavors. Tl;dr– Juno is more pricey than your average Japanese sushi restaurant, with a slightly better presentation at a markup price. Good for celebratory occasions, but skip if you just want a sushi dinner.

Juno is easily one of the best sushi spots in Chicago, but just be aware… the price tag is not as cute as the pregnant teenage movie character they share the same name as. It’s definitely a bit steep, but take it from a three year younger me that got food poisoning after an all-you-can-eat sushi excursion… raw fish isn’t something you want to bargain shop on. Their menu is small and simple. Similar to some of the best spots I’ve ever been to there are very few special rolls and if you’re not ordering the Omakase or in this case«Chef’s Special» you’re doing it wrong. It’s I-can’t-believe-we’re-in-Chicago fresh fish. So fresh that it makes sense to not do anything more than slice it and serve as an edible work or art. Pricey, but worth the splurge.

Hello #300! Hubby and I originally took my brother and mom here over the holidays, but I wasn’t feeling well and didn’t get a chance to enjoy any of the sushi the first time around. Everyone was raving about it so I had to come back to taste it for myself. Since we couldn’t find a babysitter, we reserved a 530pm table on a Friday night. We basically had the place to ourselves for a good 45 minutes or so. Baby was on her best behavior and was even interacting with the staff. We basically ordered almost everything we had the first visit with the exception of doing the Chef’s Choice nigiri rather than the sashimi. The sashimi was okay, but the nigiri here is way better. Regardless, the fish was really fresh so you can’t go wrong either way. We started off with the Special Smoked Hamachi. The presentation was memorable, with the smoke encased in glass over the fish. So yummy with a nice contrast of textures from the fish and the dehydrated corn. We split the Confit Chicken Wings, 3 pieces of boneless battered chicken, which were just okay. The Live Scallop Nigiri was amazing — and neither of us really love scallop. They were the freshest pieces of scallop I’ve ever had with a palatable texture and hint of citrus. The Crisp Saki Signature Maki was just as good the second time around. After the delicious Chef’s Choice Nigiri(8 pieces), we just started ordering extra nigiri(Amberjack, Medium and Fatty Tuna, Sea Eel, and Soy Marinated Salmon). Each piece was delicious. I love how everything was already seasoned and you don’t want to mess up the taste by drowning the pieces in soy sauce and wasabi. You eat and enjoy them the way the chef meant for you to. They have two selections for dessert and we tried the Chocolate Amaro Ice Cream at the recommendation of our friendly server. We were not disappointed. It was a nice way to end a decadent and delicious meal, especially since sushi places are really known for having good desserts, if any at all. The cocktails were also good and pared nicely with the meal. Hubby said they make a pretty stiff manhattan. Juno’s definitely a nice romantic spot to dine on pricey, but high-quality sushi — we’ll have to reserve it for a special occasion or date night, until baby can enjoy sushi too!

I thought food and service at this place were EXCELLENT! From the moment we walked in, everyone was quick, friendly and most accommodating. I’d like to say a few words about our waiter Josh(a.k.a Hock), unique with his knowledge and passion for fine foods and beverages. He didn’t only know the menu, he knew his wine and whiskey and made the experience fantastic! Food — OUTSTANDING! there wasn’t a dish that came out which we didn’t LOVE! This is not your typical sushi place, it is a real Japanese restaurant which offers a great variety small plates as well as rolls and sushimi made with freshest ingredients with incredible creativity! Their oyster shooters are worth every penny(we asked for encore), we loved chicken wings confit, saki-yaki specialty roll and their tuna tartar is very unique! Why 4 stars? Ambiance could use some improvement, this place is very noisy even when not totally full because it lacks any noise reducing décor. This is particularly important to a place of this caliber, where people have many courses and tent to want to have a conversation. The tables and chairs didn’t match each other nor did they seem approprate for the superb quality of food and service. It could be just a financial issue, we will still return! It was that good!!!

My friends told me this was their favourite Chicago sushi place and I can see why. The décor is unlike any sushi place I have visited – it looks like it could be a sleek modern café or some other high-end restaurant, devoid as it is of ornament or most of the usual trappings of a Japanese restaurant. The servers are generally not Asian and there is none of the usual shouts of «irasshaimase» as you walk in. The menu is spare. There is a listing of the day’s available fish, which can be prepared as nigiri or sashimi, along with a short list of special items. My friend, being a regular, handled the ordering. We’d start with a seaweed salad, unlike any I’d had before. Shaped like a little ring, with a base that I believe may have been quinoa in a tangy dressing and topped with a beautiful wreath of wakame, small cubes of green tea-infused tofu(guessing that’s what it was) and slices of cucumber. It was as tasty as it was beautiful. Then the fish began to arrive – we started with two of their special concoctions – one a seared scallop wrapped with salmon and topped with crunchy fried panko and a spicy sauce, and the other a similar but sufficiently different combo of tuna(I think). The nigiri came next, all presented beautifully and exquisitely fresh, with just the right balance of fish and rice. Also the rice was at the right temperature and perfectly seasoned. All this we washed down with a bottle of delightful sake. The meal was far from inexpensive but very much worth it. And on top of it all the servers were wonderfully attentive and professional. You couldn’t ask for more.

Very creative sushi with gorgeous presentations. Excellent saki options but the wine list is deplorable. Juno is on the expensive side of sushi at $ 4-$ 5 for a single piece of Nigiri. That said, I would love to do the Omakase here, which runs $ 150 per person without alcohol, because the chef is so creative. I highly recommend the special smoked hamachi and the Juno Queen special nigiri. I’ve also heard the Uni Shooters are amazing but they were out when we ate there. Get Saki here, not wine.

If a guy wants to take you on a date to Juno, you go. No questions asked, just do it. The menu isn’t big with the drink menu being 4x as large… and they may just be out of half of what is on the menu. But once you get your order, your mouth will thank you. My date and I ordered an appetizer special of the night which was really delicious. I can’t remember exactly what it was because they were out of my first and second choice but I do know it came with two tiny spoons piled with a few ingredients and was $ 10 for one bite each. We then ordered the Chef’s Special Sashimi for $ 48. Pro-Tip: Sashimi is slices of raw fish. Nigiri is those same slices of raw fish over a bit of rice. The presentation was absolutely beautiful on this special. It looked as if they all jumped right out of the ocean onto a large rock surrounded by seaweed and other pretty sea plants. Each fish had two slices so we were each able to try every single one. This was probably the best fish I’ve had in Chicagoland to date. It pretty much melted right in my mouth, über fresh and the cut of the fish was perfection. I loved everything I tried and it was a pretty wide variety of sashimi. Loved my meal at Juno and it’s now become the spot I will direct all to looking for the best sushi joint in Chi City. Service was also great including local celeb owner who greets people at the door — known for chasing down a phone thief and pinning him to the ground! Badass restaurant and badass owner!
