Great karahi terrible naan which in turn made my karahi experience mediocre. Naan were too dense and carried no flavor. I believe they use baking powder or soda instead of yeast. Overall if your not picky about your bread you’ll enjoy it more than I did.

Great food. Ordered Chicken Karahi. I do agree with a lot of the reviews that meat is less and there are more bones in the chicken, other than that it was cooked wonderfully. Another drawback is that their menu is extremely small(1 – 2 appetizers). I might go again as i liked the food, though i would love to have more meat and less bones.

The food we ordered arrived hot and fresh. It was delicious. Plenty of flavor. Decent sized portions, although much of the menu is designed for a party of four(or half order for two). So if each person wants to order something separate, it’s not exactly the best choice. Service is friendly but not particularly attentive, but it could be a bit of there being a language barrier. Or our server might have been very inexperienced. Not sure. Each of the major proteins is represented at least once: beef, chicken, mutton/goat, even one fish(tilapia). The vegetable dish was excellent. Highly recommended. Garlic naan was very good, loaded with fresh bits of the good stuff. Several types of American soda and also Mexican Coke. That was an unexpected bonus. They serve something called Masala fries, but don’t be fooled, these are just thin fries like you’ll have anywhere else, plus some tasty spices shaken over it and a dipping sauce. Not as exotic as I thought until they arrived; we enjoyed them but I was secretly a little disappointed. Now that you know, you can just enjoy them if you want to have some fries with your meal(or like we did, as an appetizer). I will definitely be back, and I recommend the place, but I couldn’t give 4 stars even though the food was great.(I’d rather have great food and subpar service, than have lousy food and impeccable service.) Hopefully they will improve.

I had high hopes for this restaurant after my initial visit. But subsequent trips didn’t satisfy as much and every time it was hard to look past the exuberant amount of oil used, small quantities of meat and other deficiencies. There is much working against their best efforts and if they could afford to work through these circumstances they could come out becoming one of the better restaurant options on Devon. One of their greatest details is that they prepare food fresh every time. A detail many restaurants and diners of Indian and Pakistani origin on Devon are lacking. What holds them back? Unruly hygiene was an issue that repeated itself for me. On a subsequent visit the waiter’s hygiene was foul. I’m sure he was working a long shift but if your body is stinking that bad, go home and take a damn bath or cover up dude! His armpits were so foul I lost my appetite. The kind of musty that causes your nose to wrinkle and lips to curl. I got up from the table and used a menu to fan the area. One would have thought I was trying to land a biplane. If you are an employee of a restaurant with armpits that wreak you should not be near dining customers. People want to feel good and breathe friendly when eating. On my last trip I found a hair in my karahi which I brought up with the waiter. I had already started eating from the wok and then noticed a long curly hair. Which I figure is probably a beard hair.(Not many people are aware, alike products used to clean head hair there is something called beard wash. If you cook and got a beard, you need some damn beard wash. One has to wonder how clean someone’s beard is especially if they’re preparing foods. Beyond that, if you’ve got a big ass beard, you need a damn beard net!!) Anyway, I pointed it out to the waiter. I get it, it happens. But when you know your beard or other hairs may fall into your cooking do something to stop it or pull that shit out of the wok /plate before presenting it. It’s disgusted me to a point where I find it hard to return. Some of their methods just don’t make sense. ie If you fried French fries and seasoned them why would you drop packets of ketchup on the top of the fries and serve it like that??? Gross. Food handling & hygiene classes could go a long way for much of their staff including their main chef. Last thing. for goodness sakes could you families please pay attention to your children!!! Kids often run a muck in here. On one visit a small 3 year old girl took off out of the restaurant and started crossing the street. My cousin and I were yelling out loud for someone to pay attention and grab the damn kid. Ridiculous.

If you are looking for masaledaar Indian food(spicy), this is the place. The menu is really small, just a few dishes but I think they are well-made. Beware though, you might feel the hotness in your tummy afterwords. But nevertheless, the food is fresh and well made. The word ‘karahi’ refers to the vessel in which the dishes are cooked, it’s an Indian wok. They served the dish in one of those vessels of karahi. New concept. A little more cleanliness around he restaurant would be appreciated and of improved on, could become a popular place for diners.

This is a restaurant for people who like simplicity and quality. The short and simple menu allows the kitchen to devote laser sharp focus on the few items they serve. That focus translates to exceptionally executed dishes that are freshly made to order and absolutely delicious. Their chicken tikka is without question the best on Devon. This is truly an awesome place! For those who can’t handle spicy food, simply ask the attentive staff to tone the heat down.

Great food, something different not your typical Devon food. You won’t get left over buffet food here! Everything is made fresh to order. EVERYTHING is spicy you have to ask for mild when ordering and that’s still Spicy! You have to try the seasoned fries with garlic sauce, I sometimes just crave those! The daal is great and so is the chicken, goat, and ground beef karahi. There naan is also nice and fresh. Thumbs up one of my favorite restaurants on Devon. Service could be better. We took food for our kids from a different restaurant and they didn’t like that but unfortunately they don’t have a kid friendly menu so we kind of didn’t have a choice. In order for us to eat there we have to get food for the kids from somewhere else.

This is probably the only restaurant in Devon that I might go to if opened in Pakistan. The food is served in a Karahi like it should be and is extremely flavorful. Definitely the best Karahi in Devon and probably in all of Chicago. The menu is small but that’s fine, they stick to thier specialty and you won’t have to settle for any mediocre food.

I have eaten here 4 times and all 4 times the food was consistent and really delicious. It seems like the default is very spicy but they will make it mild if you ask. I usually get karahi chicken and daal with Naan and it is amazing. I think hands down they are the best for these two dishes. I like that the menu list is relatively short so it’s easier to decide what you want. I will recommend this to friends and family.

I have just one word fir Karahi Corner food — Authentic! The service was awesome, the food completely fresh cooked from scratch. The place was extremely clean. Probably the cleanest bathrooms on Devon Street. If i had to pick one issue, and it was hard, but the busing and waiting staff should have restaurant apparel. It was really busy, and we could nit figure out who were the workers initially.

I wish there was an option for zero star. We have been there, over ten times and first couple of time it was pretty good. I assume it was when they first opened. Gradually the quality of food went down and today was the last draw. The appetizer(fries) came at the same time as the karahi chicken, that we order, even after telling the server to bring the fries as quickly as possible. We had this problem before that’s why we asked specifically to bring it first. The half karahi was half of less then what we received last time. It’s seemed less when we first saw it. As we we dug in to eat there was nothing but some pieces of chicken bones, chopped up. It was 13 dollars$$$$… We asked the old gentlemen who goes to tables and ask«how is the food, is everything okay?». When he came to our table and asked, we asked if they cut down on the meat. He said no it’s the same as before. We have been there enough times to know its way way less specially for the price charged. The heat was turned off and entrees came at same time Very expensive for the amount of food you receive Rather then saying sorry you make excuses about how it’s the same food you had last time(again been there over 10 time). Business like this start to fail and they diminish their quality and quantity overtime.

Tried this place based on a friend’s recommendation who said it served authentic Pakistani food. We ordered the full chicken karahi and were disappointed. The chicken that seemed like a lot was just bones with very little meat overall. The dish was waayy too oily. The garlic naan and the chicken tikka were average. The people at the restaurant are friendly but that does not make up for the lack of quality of food served. Won’t be going there again.

It is my first time to write a review in Unilocal.I believe this restaurant deserve more high reviews. The best mutton karahi ever in my life. Don’t miss it! You can see it bubbling in front of you.

This was a recommendation from a friend. Had the qeema karahi with paratha and garlic naan the first time, then chicken karahi and onion naan and some yogurt and milk drink. The protein comes out on a wok style pan, smothered in seasoning and veggies. The garlic naan is fantastic.

Hamza, the young guy behind the counter, and his father, the cook(the one described by others as having a beard and shirt unbuttoned half way down), are genuinely nice people. They really want to please. The restaurant is open, light, clean and airy. Why two stars? The food was inedible. As mentioned by several other reviewers, their half chicken Karahi is chopped up into 12 pieces; the full chicken into 24. I had the half order. It didn’t matter how many pieces they cut it up into, there was simply no meat. It was all bones. I told them I wanted very light oil. I even heard Hamza tell his father«semi-dry.» Nonetheless he poured probably 8 tablespoons of oil from a jug. That’s all I ordered(was to-go). I really wanted to like this place and write a great review, but it was a complete disappointment.

Okayyyyyy seeing as this board clearly needs a foodie opinion. This place is the indisputable, incontestable, down right champion of little India. As in… ABSOLUTEBESTINCHICAGO. Chicken Tikka is majestic AF. The Chicken Kahari legitimately TOUCHEDMYSOUL with its deliciousness. No matter who you are, whether you live near by, just got here from Pakistan, are driving through the neighborhood, or are a strange gangly guy like me who is looking for different non-american diner food experiences, going to Karahi Corner is an absolute MUST for the health of your being and development of yourself as a human. They get their meat fresh EVERYDAY from a butcher/market 5 or so buildings down and to my knowledge are the only cook-to-serve place in little India(aka they don’t do big batches that sit all day under a heat lamp or in a hotbox). They cook your meal while you watch, fresh out of the karahi(same thing as a wok pretty much) every time. Home made naan that is the perfect amount of chewy and flakey. And the guys working there are absolute heroes and the nicest dudes in the world to the weird & awkward me, of course not knowing how to pronounce anything or what to order. I plan to come every week now to get my fix and drag everyone I know and everyone they know to this F***ing beauty of a restaurant. BLESSYOUKARAHICORNER

B were excited to go to this restaurant as we were invited by a friend is new to Chicago to go and it was definitely over hyped. One word that describes this restaurant is ginger just ginger tons and tons and tons of ginger. We ordered 2 plain naans 1 garlic naan burnt and chicken karahi mutton karahi keema. The karahis including keema had lots of oil. All karahis including keema had lots of ginger no bellpeppee no onions no tomatoes. The only karahi that tasted ok was chicken despite its overcooked meat. Another issue I saw was when our rice was not good and microwaved. Best of luck to the restaurant we send our regards from the Jaikeishna family

Exceptional quality food. Authentic taste of karahi… this experience took me back to the motherland. These guys have been open for about 3 months and the packed house speaks volume for itself. The staff is extra friendly, I really like the fact that the cook came around to every table and asked if everything was up to par. With every table full, the staff accomodated everyone with a corteous and pleasant manner… not to be expected from every place in little india. I highly recommend this place.

I feel terrible about giving them three stars, but it is what it is. The place is clean and the staff is friendly, which is more that you can ask for on Devon. I honestly can’t believe how small the menu is. No samosas, kabobs, or even biryani. We ordered half of a chicken karahi and half of the keema karahi, garlic naan and regular. It tasted pretty good, but unfortunately I could not eat much since the chicken karahi was full of bones. I eventually gave up trying to pick the meat off and just ate the naan. I didn’t like the keema karahi, but my fiancé did. Again, it was full of spices and you had to pick around the keema unless you wanted to bite into a clove. Our waiter was attentive and the chef even came out to ask how the food was. He is the sweetest older Pakistani man and I didn’t have the heart to say anything but, «It’s delicious» and it was, I just wish they had a boneless chicken option. This isn’t the place to try a variety of Pakistani food, but I guess if you’re craving Karahi it’s worth a shot.
