Love having this place right down the street. The chicken’s delicious and the mac and cheese is pretty solid too! Oh, and their staff is always super friendly and inviting. Their chicken sandwiches can be incredibly messy, like BBQ ribs sorta messy. They could probably chill a bit on how much sauce they use, or maybe get a sturdier bread. In the end, not sure it matters much, because it’s so darn tasty. I hate to say it, but the one thing keeping me away from giving them 5 stars is their awful website. If you want to know their menu before heading in, too bad. The menu on their site is fairly out of date, and doesn’t list their tasty sandwiches. There have been a couple of nights I considered ordering delivery from them, but couldn’t remember if the sandwiches were a special or not because their menu doesn’t list them. It’s cost them at least two sales from me. Yeah, I know I could call them and ask questions and such, but I think ordering delivery sorta implies I’m already pretty lazy, no?

I found this place on Unilocal.I was craving some good chicken and this place was rated 4.5 stars and within a 10 minute walk from my job, so I tried it out. I was super excited about it after reading the reviews. I even convinced one of my co-workers to try it out with me. She ordered a quarter chicken meal with garlic parmesan sauce and mango salsa and a mac & cheese. I ordered a half chicken with garlic parmesan sauce. With two cans of coke our total was $ 17.75, not super cheap like others suggest, but I’ll leave that up to you. I ordered take out, but the service seemed nice enough. I’m giving this place 2 stars for service alone because the woman taking my order was the most pleasant part of the transaction. She was very nice. As of this writing, the last review on Unilocal for this place was about 6 or 7 weeks ago. Maybe they’re still serving the same chicken they cooked back in January. Maybe Kluck-U changed cooks, recipes and their chicken suppliers since then. It could be that my fellow Unilocalers forgot to mention that all of them have no taste buds from freak accidents when they were children. Maybe they never had a decent piece of chicken in their lives. Maybe I didn’t read the fine print and see that this tastes more like textured meat product than actual chicken. These are all factors to consider. One thing that you should not consider though is going to Kluck-U for chicken. My meal had dark and light meat pieces and it’s all dry and flavorless. Some reviewers and the photos suggest you get coleslaw with your meal, but maybe cabbage is short because we didn’t get any. The mac & cheese was less than mediocre, again, due to a lack of flavor. The garlic parmesan«sauce» is a cup of oil with seasonings at the bottom. The toast that’s included is oily and toasted on one side and soft on the other. I am not against some grease and oil but at least include some seasoning or marinate your chicken to add some flavor. And why is it so dry, yet everything else is oily? Why are ratings continually less and less reliable? When I was done with my meal, I realized what the name Kluck-U says to the customer. It says, «Kluck-Ur wallet, Kluck-Ur taste buds, Kluck-Ur standards and Kluck-U cause you walked in here expecting something edible» Gross.

Great gem that provides quality, home-made food. I love that the chicken is roasted so it’s healthier than the average take out. The service is always top notch! I love this place and it always keeps me filled.

WIth all the garbage that is out there to eat, this place was REALLY great, and HEALTHY for a change. Had to drive to Indy last week and just left the Gym — I knew I had to eat something, but had no clue what I could find that was somewhat healthy and fast — saw their sign and took a gamble — I won! Excellent baked chicken, baked beans and good cole slaw — Good food at a fare price — friendly owner and I WILL be back. KLUCKOFF to all the other places that serve garbage that is passed off as food :)

I’m just sad it took me this long to try Kluck-U! Amy F, Halley W, and I picked up the family dinner and it was fantastic. Our order was ready ten minutes after we called and the chicken ALONE is awesome, but you do get to choose two sauces. We went with BBQ and garlic parmesan which were both a hit, definitely recommend. Our four sides were mac n’ cheese, coleslaw, stuffing and mushrooms. The coleslaw was pretty typical, but the other three sides were outstanding. Perhaps the greatest part of this meal is that we each paid $ 6.20. For lots of chicken. And lots of sides. Best deal ever? Potentially. Easy, no frills, quality meal that I will definitely be picking up again.

It is only appropriate that I tell you that I generally don’t like on-the-bone chicken(off-the-bone is only slightly better). But having fallen head over heels for Crisp’s chicken wings, I thought I might give my inner carnivore another shot at Kluck-U. I ordered a ¼ white meat w/garlic parmesan sauce(1⁄8 of which is still in my fridge), a side of mac n’ cheese and a side of sweet potatoes. The highlight of the meal is undoubtedly the garlic parmesan sauce. In the future, THIS is how I will make garlic bread. It is no doubt heart-stoppingly menacing, but every ounce as incredible as everyone has said. Chicken was… kind of exactly how I expect chicken should taste(no fault of KluckU that I just can’t get excited about birds). Mac & cheese had corkscrew pasta with enough cheese sauce to cover another dish of noodles. Yams were just like yams should be. Overall: good place, good value. Best garlic parm sauce I’ve ever had.

Have you been to Chicken Heaven… I have and it is located on Broadway in Lakeview. Seriously when every great chicken passes away I think this is where it ends up and from there into my satisfied belly. I ended up at Kluck-U after my GRE course when the last thing I wanted to do was go home and cook myself something for dinner and I could not be happier I found it. First off, when I walked in I was greeted by the awesome manager, I did not catch her name, but she was welcoming, funny, and chatting with her while waiting for my food was way better than staring awkwardly at my phone the whole time! Ok now on to the food, the amazing delicious, I could eat it again for breakfast this morning food. What did I order you ask that could be this good: ¼ white meat roasted chicken — perfectly cooked, moist and tender, all the things chicken should be, but too often are not Garlic Parmesan dipping sauce — can I buy a vat of this to put on EVERYTHING I eat? Mac ‘N’ Cheese — creamy cheesy and flavorful, they could probably just serve this as an actual dish and people would come flocking. Basically if you like chicken, you NEED to eat here. Your life will never be the same.

I see you driving ‘roun town with the girl I love and I’m like Kluck– U! I kept walking by this place and finally ventured in. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. It’s a better version of Chicken Hut down the road. The mango salsa was a perfect topper for the chicken. Also, loved the sweet potatoes without marshmallows. This will be my go to chicken place. If you don’t like this place then you can go Kluck yourself.

The food, the value, the service… What’s there not to like? A friend recommended Kluck-U, and I absolutely loved my experience. For $ 9, I got a whole chicken and obviously had plenty leftover. Hard to find value like that. Plus, I don’t feel too guilty eating it because the chicken is roasted. Really enjoy Crisp across the street, but it’s deep fried and definitely more expensive. Next time, I’ll have to try some of the sides and a turkey sandwich. But, I’ll certainly being going back.

One of those places I’ve probably walked by at least 100 times without really going in. Decided to give it a shot for lunch one day, played it safe and got the Buffalo sandwich. I knew it had to be good chicken(when I was waiting three ‘regulars’ walked in, guy knew them by name and had their order ready to go). Anyways, the most delicious chicken sandwich on two regular pieces of bread(there was so much that it literally overflowed, and I ended up dumping a lot out). Regardless, the most delicious chicken sandwich I’ve had in a while.

I see ya drivin’ round town with the food I want and I’m like, Kluck-U-oo-oo. And, that’s enough of that. But, not enough of that chicken. Who would have thought that East Lakeview would come up with *another* spot to get a serious chicken on. What’s going on in that neighborhood? I don’t know but I think I like it. The chicken here is all-natural and roasted… and it’s very good. Cooked well. Seasoned. All that. But, what will make you come back are the sauces, specifically the mango salsa. It seems so obvious but the combo of fruit and tomato and spice is fan-freaking-tastic. I could put it on just about every/anything and be happy. Garlic parmesan is another winner, but the clear champion is the mango salsa. ¼ chicken, tons of salsa, texas toast, cole slaw, and & mac & cheese* and you are good to go into napland. Don’t plan for much activity after eating this chicken. Just sit, digest and enjoy. *Unless you are in the mood for a sandwich and in that case, you have to get the Thanksgiving sandwich. I didn’t and was experiencing some serious food envy… despite my salsa. Imagine slabs of turkey, cranberries and gravy between texas toast. Actually, don’t imagine it; order it. And, give it to me. And watch me get fatter. Oh, year-round swimsuit weather, why must you be such a cruel mistress…

OMG Yummy. Came in for Lunch today with my wife and son. Ordered a whole chicken, 4 sides(Corn, Creamy mashed potatoes and gravy(on the side), Mac and Cheese and Marinated mushrooms) Everything was hot and cooked to perfection. The Mac and Cheese was with rotini noodles and cooked perfectly, with a excellent cheese sauce, delicious. The chicken was piping hot and delicious. For $ 22 we had a whole chicken, 4 sides, 4 slices of texas toast garlic bread, and 4 soda’s. A great deal. I did buy another side of corn and Mashed potatoes and gravy, yeah it was that good. They have a multiude of sauces, we choose BBQ and Parmesan Garlic, the BBQ is good, sweet sauce, and the Parm Garlic is heaven. Perfect on the chicken, or mushroom or the potatoes as my wife had them. We all left full, and happy. Job well done. Also the cashier was a young lady from the east coast, she was very pleasant and helpful, and kind to my 6 yr old. Spot on customer service, excellent value, and hot delicious food. We will be back. They also deliver, check em out.

Some good roasted chicken and tasty sides makes for a happy meal. Their décor is minimal, but their chicken makes up for it. It’s well seasoned and very juicy, served with some cole slaw and garlic bread made with some hearty texas toast. Plus they have a variety of dipping sauces for the chicken. My favorites were the BBQ and mango salsa, but the garlic parmesan was also pretty good. The sides didn’t disappoint either — the sweet buttery corn was great, but my favorite was the awesome Mac n Cheese. I loved the garlicky bread crumbs on top and it’s something I’d get again and again. Good chicken, reasonable prices, and super friendly service. I’ll definitely be back.

I went here with my bud based on all the good reviews on Unilocal when I was in the area. I was a bit worried when I walked in and there was no one else in the joint at peak lunch time. No one else aside from the owner’s kids playing on their game consoles, that is. That always scares me because there’s usually a reason a place doesn’t have many patrons… or it’s just an undiscovered gem. I would say this place is an overlooked tasty spot! Also, it seems like most people pick up food & go as while we were sitting in there a few did come in then go. I can’t emphasize how nice the owner working there was. He was super friendly, super helpful in ordering, brought our food out to our table and made sure everything was great. He just seemed to have one of those very personable personalities that you instantly like! I went with the ¼ White Meat Chicken for $ 4.49 which comes with a sauce — I picked Garlic Parmesan. The chicken was very moist and the sauce topped it off very nicely. The meal came with toasted bread(see picture) which was really tasty and coleslaw which I didn’t taste because I’m not a fan. I also got a side of Mac & Cheese for $ 2.25 which was so good! It was sooooo cheesy and creamy with some breading in it. I will absolutely get the side of mac & cheese when I go back. Yep. I said when, because I will definitely be back! Pop is extra., not included in the meal. All in all, the food here is quite good, service is excellent, and I would definitely go back if only for the mac and cheese! ha! I would like if the had a none bone chicken option — not necessarily deep fried nuggets but a boneless, skinless nugget option would work well for me. I’m not a huge fan of eating chicken off the bone although it was very good here! There was a lot of food and I ended up taking a lot home. Feel good moment after lunch: A man asked for for my food when we were walking back to the car. Delicious leftovers went to someone who needed it more than me! :D

Kluck-U? Kluck me! I love this place. They are poised to be the go to chicken place. I may even move back up the the north side — just to be closer. The young hen behind the counter was egg-zactly what you look for in restaurant service. She was very sweet and knowledgeable and — generally — a good egg. The food was outstanding — surely something to crow about — a perfect portion size to feel fed but not funky. There are carb-friendly sauces(Yeah — the mighty have fallen. i am going carb free for a while!) I cackled at the prices. Just a few feathers for some awesome food. Don’t be a chicken — wing your way in and grab a breast(couldn’t resist). Musicians? They have awesome drumsticks! Even Suzanne Somers couldn’t master these thighs! Okay, I’ve said enough. I think I’ll fly the coop. See you Kluckers later.

This new East Lakeview chicken joint takes a stand against Crisp’s fried chicken by shouting: «Kluck-U!» from across the street. They keep chicken ‘al natural’ by slowly baking their meat, keeping in all the delicious juices – well minus the exception of offering a complimentary dipping sauce. I batted my baby blue eyes at the lovely employee at the register who had the solution to my indecisiveness of choosing between the Mango Salsa and Garlic Parmesan sauces – she treated me to a second free. They also have some tasty side dishes like a sweet slaw, bacon bit baked beans and smooth mashed potatoes with turkey or beef gravy. Their ambience, I believe, is still in the works with limited décor other than some chicken/hen knick-knacks and bright orange walls. The space is small, similar to the owner’s Mista location also off Broadway a few storefronts south, but offers 5 tables with window stool seating. This ambience was all my friend and I needed to catch up and chow down after not seeing each other for a year. Friendly staff, basic seating, quick service, yummy grub. We just wish they had a Half Chicken Family Dinner because that would be perfect for two people. The Whole Chicken meal would be too much yet ends up only being $ 8.50 a person($ 16.95 total) for an entire chicken and 4 sides of our choice. All meats can come on a sandwich too. I can deem that prices are definitely reasonable. While I would say that I prefer Fogo2Go’s chicken for it’s flavors, this place definitely brings competition to the rest of the chicken joints citywide. I’ll be back to sample Meema’s meatloaf to see if it triumph’s the Meatloaf Bakery, plus a slice of their seasonal kobbler. Side note: I think Meema is the owner’s mother who they refer to as the«Mother Klucker.» She’s pictured above the cash register with our beloved mayor.

Excellent roasted chicken, very reasonably priced. Hubby kept saying«great value.» The chicken(¼ chicken white meat under $ 5) comes with bread and coleslaw and sauce. The chicken was well prepared, nicely seasoned. Did I mention it’s a great value?

Roasted Chicken? Check Homemade Meatloaf? Check Great flavors? Check Incredibly friendly staff? Check Cole Slaw that is NOT made w/mayo? Check Homemade sauces to slather on the chicken? Check Superb location? Check The quick & healthy chicken craze has hit Broadway again with Kluck-U. I had the ½ chicken all white meat plus the cole slaw and mushrooms sides. The spices used on the chicken were crazy great, and the white meat was moist. The sauces — omg — if they are all as tasty as the mango salsa and buffalo sauces were, you will not be disappointed. The kluck-u mushrooms are sauteed(not fried), but have a bit of breading on them. Great flavor as well. Drinks are cans/bottles of a large brand. I’m very excited to go back and try the turkey and meatloaf, the other sauces and the other sides! Check them out!

I was given a menu as I was walking past this new Lakeview restaurant. They just opened yesterday. The menu looked intriguing — just a few items on the menu. After a few errands, the menu was still on my mind… what the heck, I’ll try the place. I am so glad I did. The menu consist of whole or part of a chicken(on the bone), couple of sandwiches and eight(8) side dishes, couple of soups to choose from, and couple of desserts. With the chicken entrée, you will receive a slice of Texas Toast, and you have pick of a sauce. I had picked the Garlic Parmesan which I would highly recommend. I had ordered the ¼ white meat, mashed potatoes/gravy and the mac & cheese. The wait time for the food was not long at all. The portions are good size. You can tell the items were cooked at the restaurant and not out of can. The meal was very good and I did not leave the place hungry. Looking forward to try the mushrooms and the rest of the menu. If you are in the area, check out this great new restaurant. I’m sure you will be glad you did. Support the mom & pop restaurants.
