L.A. Tan

I come in for the versa spray tan. On Mondays it’s only 10 $ !!! You can’t beat that deal. They have mystic as well but I like the versa way better. The workers here are super nice and attentive. My go to spot for my weekly glow!

I’ve been going here for many years, previously as a member, then as a pay-​as-​I-​go. Today I went here for the $ 4 special that they texted, tan on any bed all weekend for $ 4. I decided on the Level 5 for 12 minutes. As soon as I get undressed and in the bed, I realize that 2 of the 4 face lamps are out. About 4 minutes in, I realized 6 bulbs on the top portion of the bed were out, and 4 others were flashing as if they were about to go out. At this point, I was already ¹⁄₃ of the way through but figured it was only $ 4…no big deal. I actually had to turn the fan/​AC off because I was getting chilly in the bed. When I was done, I told the girl at the front (who was not behind the desk, but chatting with her friend on the couches) about the bulbs. Her response was «oh yeah, we’ll let the owner know.» Didn’t offer an apology. my money back or a free tan or anything… I know it was only $ 4, but this bed is usually $ 2/​minute, so $ 24 for a full session. I have absolutely NO color on the front of my body (8 hours later), and not much more on my backside. Ridiculous. I probably should have gotten up, gotten dressed and asked for a new bed, but since it was only $ 4, I figured it wasn’t worth the hassle. I was just shocked at how they just didn’t care when I told them the bed wasn’t working. This location has just lost a long time client of 11+ years. Ultimate Exposure has WAY better, more modern beds, and are much more friendly.

This location is one of the best LA tans. They’re super clean and have a ton of beds. I’ve only been here a couple of times but all the girls are really nice and the hours are longer than other LA tans I’ve been too. The only thing is the level 3 bed (the one I’ve used) doesn’t seem to have a fan so it gets hot kind of quick other than that I really like this place!

I always come to this location because it is right down the street, the girls working are ALWAYS friendly and remember me, and there’s never a long wait! I mainly come here for the $ 15 dark spray tan deal on Mondays (yes, they have deals almost every day of the week) and I used to have a normal tanning membership. I would definitely recommend this location if you’re in the Jefferson Park area! It’s cute, clean, and friendly. There are people who come in of all backgrounds (I saw a dude on a motorcycle with a leather jacket in here once!) and the staff is friendly to each person who walks in their door. I don’t know why this place is getting such low ratings and mind you all, most of these are from YEARS ago. The place is great now! Great beds. Great Versa Spa spray tan machine. Great employees. Great location. And, of course, great prices!

I only went to this location once for the Mystic Tan… their machine needs some SERIOUS upgrading! I read the directions on the wall & stepped into the machine waiting for the voice prompt (per the instructions I just read). The machine made a strange noise and then began spraying me down. Since I was waiting for the voice prompt I wasn’t ready & didnt have a chance to hold my breath! It totally reminded me of my military days in chemical warfare training! I even inhaled some of the mist! It stopped briefly & just as I caught my breath it started to spray me again! I quickly turned myself around to get color on my back, sliding all over the place! It was the longest few minutes of my life! I leapt out of that machine, happy to be alive!!!
I should have known something bad was about to happen because as soon as I asked for Mystic Tan the girls at the counter had sympathetic looks on their faces… like, «we probably should warn you but we want your money sooo…».
Good lord! Never again!!!

Went in here for Mysitc Tan ($ 30 a pop!!!) — the tan spray for the pale skinned people of the world. I’ve done it before at other salons and NEVER had an issue like I did here. Got out and the spray was beading on my skin (it should be a fine mist that you can’t even see) and most wiped off. Next day — totally streaky. I was so embarassed to go out in public, but since I did this for a wedding (yes — lots of horrible streaky pictures of me) I was forced to show myself. I wrote the corporate office after this whole incident to have them, at the very least, service the mystic tan machine because there is seriously wrong with it. Still haven’t heard back from them. I hope to update soon that they have great customer service and are very attentive. However, I don’t have high hopes that that will happen.
Not sure what their normal tanning beds are like — but I would say if you are going for Mystic Tan — go somewhere else.

I guess it’s called LA Tan because I’m supposed to walk out with a tan that looks as good as people who got it for real in LA? lol I don’t know about that because you come out orange at this place and you stink to high heaven. I’ve been to better tanning salons… this is just tthe lower end of them!
