I wish there was a zero star rating. My cousin and I walked in to their empty restaurant and politely asked if they could make crepes to go. The woman behind the counter looked at us like we were trash and was completely nasty. Horrible service and we didn’t even have an opportunity to sit. If their business model is that when you just walk in and ask a harmless question, I cannot imagine how bad it is sitting down. Zero stars.

Great place, been here a number of times! The crepes are great all around with the beef bourguignon being my favorite! The cocktails are spot on but they have a nice wine selection as well which I usually opt for. I know there’s at least one weekday where they do half price bottles of wine which is always a good thing. Servers have always been friendly & attentive as well. My only complaint would really be the back patio. The patio itself is GREAT, quant & tucked away, however the plastic chairs & wobbly tables just kinda ruin the cute classy atmosphere of the place. Not a deal breaker, but noteworthy.

Excellent crepes and great wine list. Try going on a Tuesday for half off wine! Their crepes were super delicious and packed with French flavor.

Had the Nutella crêpe, it was amazing. Their pinot noir was pretty bomb as well. Service was pretty great(on a Thursday night), the floor manager was very attentive. Definitely recommend this place!

Old but cozy bistro atmosphere. Crepes were tasty. Service was slow. They may of been short staffed for shift. Chicken & cheese savory crêpe and sweet Nutella with banana were favorites.

Great coffee! Super tasty savory crepes. The sweet and more traditional crepes are good but it’s the coq au vin that takes it for me! Spinach is good too! Bistro/creperie ambiance really works… Cozy, French, and original!

We went in for a desert crêpe. I had the Nutella banana and German chocolate crêpe. It was good but not great. I have had better crepes in the city.

The inside of this place is so cool! There was a gas fire burning in the little fireplace and tons of French décor all over the walls. It was very intimate for a Valentine’s Day brunch. I was underwhelmed by the vegetarian options on the menu. I love savory crepes would have liked something more creative than standard vegetable mixes. The Florentine crêpe(eggs, creamed spinach with friend egg on top) I ordered was tasty, but I agree with some of the previous comments about the actual crêpe. It was not a fluffy crêpe at all and very thin. My fiancée, however, ordered the Poulette et Fromage(chicken with goat cheese) based on some other Unilocal reviews and said it was delicious. We were also envious of a nearby couple who ordered the French Onion Soup — it looked and SMELLED heavenly. Maybe we’ll try that if we venture here again.

Having rented an apt in the heart of Paris and having spent many days eating my weight in crêpes, I nearly qualified for the Crêpe Junior Olympics. I was quite happy to try to reprise my former(self appointed) crêpe eating status when I heard La Crêperie was owned by a Frenchman. Walking in on a chilly winter night, I made a quick beeline for the table situated in front of the fireplace. A cozy sight. This place is so quaint. Old world feeling. The atmosphere perfect. By French standards, these crêpes are HUGE. –they are very generous with the fillings. Not that I’m complaining. If I may be picky though, I have to say these crêpes should be thinner. They’re just not quite right. Almost like a tortilla. They do have the slight crisp to them but not quite the right soft pliable texture I’m used to. Now, I have it on good authority that cocoa butter diminishes stretch marks. Since my first born gifted me two of those, I keep eating Nutella whenever I’m able. It hasn’t worked yet, but I’m happy to keep trying –Who says it only works if used topically?! Attempting to diminish those two stretch marks, I ordered the Nutella Banane crêpe(or Classique as they call it) It was a delicious dessert. No, the crêpes aren’t quite authentic but they are generously stuffed with both bananas and Nutella. Anything that oozes Nutella should be consumed! –For medicinal purposes only of course. Our savory crêpes gave us mixed feelings. Hubs got the curry chicken and it had a really nice flavor. The rice that came with it, was a little too«Uncle Ben’s» for me though. I ordered the coq au vin. It wasn’t the best coq au vin, but it was what I needed on a chilly night. A chilly night with a mouth full of stitches. So coq au vin it was. A cute and cozy place that does take me back to my beloved city. Owned by an older Frenchman whose presence lends to the atmosphere. I am a sucker for accents. Even on older gentlemen.

Solid brunch spot in Lakeview. I usually get two entrée’s because I love brunch.(Eggs, chicken sausage and hash browns(dish 1), and a sweet crêpe(dish 2). Oh, and they have vanilla bean tea. Winning! Food — 4 Service — 5 Location/Parking — 4 Ambiance — 4

Magnifique! I’m so glad this classic Chicago creperie reopened. It’s cosy in the winter with its wood panelled walls and fire place and it the summer the back patio’s ambience is quaint. The crepes are consistently good. My favourite is the chicken, though the curry chicken is also wonderful. I’ve gone with friends and family and it’s a place that can please both adults and kids with aplomb.

Lovely atmosphere and décor, created a distinctly old European feel. Shared a Banana Sara and a La Romantique. The flavors were good but not too diverse, generally not overly impressive. A good crêpe, but not spectacular. I thought 3 stars were adequate because I have not tried their non-dessert crêpes.

I have fallen in love with this restaurant since discovering it last year. I have since tried everything on the menu and continue to go back for more. The service here is extremely good and professional. I’ve not been to La Creperie on a weekend during brunch but have been here on week day nights and the service has been exceptional and the food even better and better. I would highly recommend this restaurant and take my hat off to the chef(s) for a wonderfully delicious menu and the manager and serving staff for all round excellence. :) Well done.

Fantastic place for both winter and summer! Great for an intimate date or group dinner. For summer, they have a back patio which is light with a romantic ambience that makes you forget that you’re in a big city and transplants you to a quaint French town somewhere in the middle of nowhere. For winter, you can curl up with a cappuccino next to the fireplace and listen to the live jazz band that plays every 2 weeks(call ahead to double check when the band plays because it often changes). The owner, Germain, is very sweet and accommodating. If you get the chance, talk to him and listen to his stories of growing up in France and how he ended up in Chicago. I met him when we came in with a group for a birthday, there wasn’t enough room in the front for us to listen to the band so he brought the band to us in the back room! À tout à l’heure le creperie!

Wow, stepping into this place is like going back to Paris where the time slows and the crepes and coffee flows Before we get into the food, I think the best part of Paris is the culture of how people slow down and truly enjoy their time. The atmosphere here will do that and yes, that means it will take a little longer for you to get your food. However, it’s a very quaint and intimate place to take a friend to escape the city and enjoy each other’s company. Now, the food is definitely the best part. The crepes here are definitely French with it’s warm, crispy texture and perfectly sweetened fillings. The price is so fair for something so good as well! Try a cup of their coffee too.

Have passed by this place quite a bit and have been meaning to try it out. A friend and I finally made it out for brunch over the weekend. We each ordered a savory crêpe each to share(the chicken in herb cream sauce with mushrooms and the beef bourguignon). While the kitchen came out with the wrong crêpe for me — rather than get the beef bourguignon, I received another crêpe — a breakfast crêpe with spinach and eggs — it was still pretty good… though I did think that the crêpe itself was a bit overdone. I personally thought that the chicken crêpe was much better, considering the sauce was quite good — albeit saltier than I would have liked. We finished off the meal with the banana and nutella crêpe. I was really hoping that it would be a little warmer, but it came out as a cold crêpe — not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be. I also ordered the salted caramel latte, but was not a fan… it was overly sweet and didn’t have the salted caramel taste to it.

This is an INCREDIBLE crêpe restaurant and definitely was one of the best food I ate on my Chicago trip. I ordered the Ratatouille, and the vegetables were roasted and sauteed with so much flavor and the perfect amount of seasoning. I’m also a huge sucker for eggplant and it really made the dish for me. My friend ordered the Coq au Vin and the juices really infused throughout the whole crêpe. The crepes they made were also beautifully spiced and herbed up and were served with an amazing dark brown golden color. For desert, we shared a Banana Sara which was to die for. The bananas were chopped up into bitesize pieces, flambeed, and soft and tender to the bite. They were covered in a beautiful caramel sauce and the heat from the alcohol created a perfect balance of bitter sharpness with the silky sweetness. It was topped off with a dollop of vanilla bean ice cream and the temperature contrast was an avalanche of flavor.

La Creperie is the epitome, the grand dame for crêpe’s and bistro fare in Chicago. It sort of reminds me of Café Flore in Paris, as a place with a huge history and a great presence in a great city. My parents dined here as tourists with their families decades ago in their youth, and returned when settling in Chicago, It’s always been a warm, cozy place to enjoy French fare and remains that same way. Had a leisurely dinner with another couple the other night that we hadn’t seen in quite awhile, and it was nice to catch up, reminisce over Ratatouille and Poulette et Fromage, cheese, wine, escargots and we shared one of La Creperie’s delicious nutella and banana crepes, just the way they make them on the streets of Paris. For the quality and ambiance alone, this venue is a bargain! I’m so glad they were able to remain open when original owners wished to move on.

Spent a beautiful morning brunching on their patio out back — such a nice private place to relax. We ordered way too much food, not realizing how big it would all be: curry crêpe, eggs any style, Nutella/banana crêpe. The last was my fave! Would be interested in going back to explore their night time scene — drinks and crepes. One note: noticed on their menu they have a relationship with the theater across the street. If you bring in a ticket stub you get a free chocolate crêpe! Call in for exact details. Enjoy!

Sat in outside patio since the temperature was nice, about 70 degrees. Felt adventurous and ordered the Escargot(snails). Was apprehensive at first, but hey yolo, ate it anyway, haha. For the main course, we ordered the Ratatouille and Poulette et Fromage. Both of them were good, especially the Poulette with it’s delicious Goat cheese filling. Forgot the waiter’s name but he was cool giving awesome suggestions, the guy with a half cut. The martini was good as well. Good experience for my first french restaurant

Took awhile waiting to be seated or even acknowledged but once we were seated, pure lovely experience. We sat in their outside patio that was decorated nicely. Daughter had the chicken curry crêpe with a side of rice and mango chutney. Yum I had a crêpe with chicken, tomato, goat cheese and something else. So delicious! Our server was awesome! Easy going and so nice. He recognized my daughter who has apparently been there before on other occasions(say what?! And didn’t take me? Lol). For dessert we had a chocolate crêpe with toasted coconut and topped with whipped cream. Holy Moses that was tasty! Just a really nice spot to eat and enjoy company over conversation. Oh BTW Tuesdays are 50% off bottles of wine! Nice experience!

Wow — what an amazing late night spot for food, dessert and drinks! My boyfriend and I visited last night after we had already eaten dinner and really just wanted a fun patio to sit on and drink wine. La Creperie delivered! Their patio is really cute at night — they have string lights and umbrellas and lots of tables. It was pretty dead around 10:30pm but there were a few parties on the patio with us. We each got a glass of red wine and a crêpe. Super impressed with the deliciousness of everything! The only issue was that my boyfriend asked for no whipped cream on his crêpe as he is lactose intolerant and there was whipped cream on it anyway, but other than that, our server was really nice and attentive. What a great spot! I bet their brunch and other food is good too.

Great spot for desert! Tip: the scoop of ice cream is actually two scoops so consider sharing. We each got one sweet crêpe with ice cream and it was way too much. Will split one next time.

Overall: Great crepes and great atmosphere, will definitely be coming back here at some point! The good: Great crepes with a lot to choose from, either sweet or savory. The prices are pretty reasonable as well, and the crepes are quick large. The atmosphere is great, with a rustic feeling. Great music as well. Very intimate but not intimidating. The bad: The service, while friendly, wasn’t the best. We were almost charged for more food than we got, the waiter also didn’t understand the amount of our food or the request to have the dessert crêpe to come out after our savory crepes. Atmosphere: 9⁄10 Service: 7.5÷10 Food: 9⁄10

La Creperie is super super cute and yummy. The interior is bigger than what it seems from the outside as there’s a backroom that seats about 30 more people. I came with a couple of good friends for brunch on a cold winter morning. The 4 of us were able to get seated in about 5 – 10 minutes which was really nice. The hot cider was delicious and gorgeously presented, especially with the added touch of cinnamon sticks dropped inside. I only had a few sips of the french onion soup but was pretty impressed. It’s not overwhelmingly salty like many other locations which made it taste that much better. As usual, I couldn’t decide whether to get a sweet or savory crêpe as there were so many appealing options on the menu but luckily my friend was there to split with me. We got the Poulet aux champignons and the Banana sara. Both were fantastic although the banana sara had the slight winning edge for me. The brown sugar caramel sauce is aaaamazing. Both crepes were pretty stuffed with ingredients and I was definitely extremely full! Service was on the slower side, maybe purposely intended for a leisurely French brunch feel… though with the atmosphere and surroundings of the restaurant, I didn’t mind so much.

Disclaimer: not a crêpe expert. Never even been to France. So my review is in comparison to some wonderful crepes I enjoyed a few years ago at What Crêpe? in metro Detroit(I know — of all places!). Upon being seated at La Creperie, I was delighted to find out that they have ½ off wine bottles on Tuesdays! So of course we went with a cabernet sauvignon to start. Our waiter was very attentive, and kinda quirky. He even pointed us in the right direction for dessert when we lost our way. But first we ordered the mushroom brie soup, and some savory crepes for dinner. I had the ratatouille crêpe with chevre, and I would definitely recommend adding the cheese. The crêpe itself was not what I was expecting. I guess I’m just used to, and prefer, a thinner and fluffier texture. But it was still a good crêpe overall. And the atmosphere was nice too — not too crowded or loud. I loved loved loved the decorative tin ceiling tiles. I couldn’t help but love all the little details that made this little eatery a pleasant experience.
