Located inside a store. Have Been there 2 times, so far in this area best by far. Meat is tender and flavorful. Very authentic and quick to make. Tacos are full of meat for their price, a great deal.

I live walking distance from this place and just discovered it recently. I’ve been addicted ever since. The food is made to order and is always delicious. Particularly the tacos. I can do without the tortas though. I usually take out since the dining area is small. $ 10 minimum on cards if I’m not mistaken. I strongly recommend!

Great place. All of the food is made to order and delicious. The dining area is a bit small, so I mostly just get it to go. Definitely a hidden gem and it’s super close to my house which is awesome.

Definitely a hidden gem in McKinley Park. I’ve lived around the corner for many years and never knew they had a little restaurant inside. Tacos are so delicious! Green and red sauces are spicy, so be careful if you don’t like spicy. Burrito is huge! I couldn’t even finish it all. And the tortas are amazing as well! A must try if you live near! Prices are not bad either.

Delicious burrito. Tons of flavor from this small spot inside a market. Green sauce is nice and spicy and among the best I’ve had. My new go to place in the area.

I think this place has the best steak tacos. I usually order mine with just cilantro and onions, the traditional way. Their steak is grilled with just the right taste, not too salty and has just enough flavor and is smoky too. Tacos used to be only $ 1.25 several years ago but now it’s $ 2.25/ each, which is now double, but I think it’s reasonable since it’s so good!

Yesterday I paid $ 8.54($ 7.75 plus tax I think) for a veggie burrito at La Placita. This is highway robbery as a steak burrito would have only been $ 5.25 plus tax. If the ingredients cost less then the whole package should cost less. It the end product was outstanding or even very good I would have been fine with it, but the burrito was just ok.

I’ve had their steak tacos a few times so far, and I must say, they’re very good. It’s a small side restaurant in a local grocery store. But they’re friendly, and quick, and did I mention good? Definitely somewhere to grab a good quick lunch or dinner.

La PLacita is a small market on 35 and Honore st. This place is very handy in for smaller grocery items when you’re in a pinch. They offer the usual fare with chip, snacks, candy and soda pop. Although their produce may at some times leave a little to be desired, I have found them to be avery good and quick source for the random potato, green pepper, onion, etc. needed to finish that recipe. La Placita’s strength is it’s meat counter in the back. They offer all the cuts of beef, pork, and no chicken(sorry on fish). Stop in on the weekends for hot, and fresh carnitas bought by the pound. It’s also hard to find a cheaper morning\ coffee snack than their pan dulce(Mexican sweet bread) 59 cents a piece. La placita is a true“carniceria” being that it offers a small restaurant offering fresh tacos, sopes, and other Mexican treats. This small restaurant is the perfect bet to grab something on the run or just quick stop before getting on the 35th st. bus. Or on your home from the orange line. I find the«convenience fee» offset by their selection and quality. La placita like the many other small«tiendas» around Chicago offer a quick service and are in fact a true asset to their customers. Also the old lady who works calls me «El gaupo» all the time.
