DONOTORDERFROMHERE! Zero stars if possible they have the worst service I have ever seen I placed and order thru grub hub for delivery and my order never came not a single call was made and my door bell was never rang when I tried to call the store there was no answer. When I called the store the next day the phone person tells me «I wasn’t here and I’m too busy here’s the managers number».You would think the Manger would be more helpful he was worse instead of explaining to me any reason at all why my order never showed he just blamed me saying I didn’t answer the phone. When I asked for a refund his response was«you have to call grub hub I have nothing to do with that», I WILLNEVERORDERFROMHEREAGAINAND I DONOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACETOANYONEHORRIBLESERVICEANDWORSEMANAGEMENT. If you do want a good place with GOODSERVICE I recommend la bomba I’ve order there many times and the food and service is great.

It wasn’t the best atmosphere more like a little whole in the wall place but I’ll give my thumbs up. For my first boricua joint in Humboldt Park it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t the best. If you’re looking for a quick meal and can’t seem to find anything than this is you’re go to place.

I’m a really lazy person when it comes to writing reviews… but I just had to share my experience considering I’ve tried a few PR restaurants around here and haven’t found the right one to suit my pickiness(my grandpa from FL makes the perfect PR food so I’m a it biased)… So my cousin and I were walking around Humboldt Park today trying to find a restaurant who sold Mofongo(cousin was craving it) and were open(Mondays aren’t popular I guess). We found Coco’s but my Aunt suggested we try out Latin American Restaurant because she said it was cheaper. It was only a little further down so we walked in and were seated right away. It was pretty empty but did have a few customers in and out while we there(late afternoon). I ordered the lunch special and the waiter was very nice and let me substitute chicken breast for the chicken leg special without an upcharge. I also got tostones as a side instead of rice. The lunch specials comes with a soda as well All this for $ 7! Anyway, the tostones were just right and the chicken breast was marinated in a sofrito sauce that was finger licking good. I even used it as a dip for the tostones. Oh yeah and I also ordered a bacalaoito that was the size of both my hands put together that only cost $ 1.25(I had to split with my cousin). My cousin got her mofongo and said it was delicious as well .We also both commented on the interior of the restaurant in that it reminded us of old Puerto Rico .I was impressed by the cleanliness and size of the bathroom. The restaurant is also more spacious than what I’ve seen in other PR restaurants on Division St. Overall, I was impressed by Latin American Restaurant and will definitely be a regular customer. Delicious cheap PR food, look no more!

Hmmm I don’t know how I feel about this place. I came in on a Thursday night and it was empty! I was so excited to eat an Alcapurria(goole it) and they surprised me by having both kinds of Alcapurria’s and if your Puerto Rican, you know there are some with Platanos and some with Yuca and the Yuca is good! Well I think I the ones that got fried more than it should but I can tell they had some potential if they weren’t so badly fried! I also order a relleno de papa it just lacked a lot of flavor I’m hoping the chef was having a bad day! I also Ordered a Jibarito with Rice and I was expecting a lot more the Tostone didn’t have much flavor and the meat which is Bistec(steak) was lacking a kick to it. Not sure if I would return immediately or go out of my way to come back but if I am around I think I would give them another chance to step it up. I see the potential!

Great lunch specials for a good price. I had the pork with rice and beans accompanied with tostones. It was all very delicious.

If I could give this place Half a star I would. And that .5 of a star goes to the arroz con habichuela(sp?). I went with my sister yesterday to get some PR food, didn’t feel like asking my aunt to cook. She ordered fried Pockchops and I had the porkchops en salsa and we shared a pastele. First of the pasted was way too pasty and was salty. We each kept note of that but shouldn’t have counted on at least the food being good. :-(her fried porkchop was a step from being burned and dried up and had mountains and crumbs of the Sazon and salt all over them. She took a bite and didn’t even finish it. My porkchop I decided to share with her… mine was exact opposite. It was just boiled in water, it seem and drenched in the salsa. Suffice to say, I made mistake of already ordering a to go dinner for later. The beef skirt steaks seemed like they were just boiled in a pot of water with two sliced up whole head of onions!!! ANNNNND, we are still feeling the effects the day after! DISSSGUSSSTIIINNNGGGGG!!! just stick to the little trailers in the park! Even there my uncle ate there and got food poisoning from the morcilla.

I go to the location at Humbolt park in a small trailer and I order the juicy lechon pork platter special with arroze con grandueles and tostones all this for $ 7 dollars, what a deal! Big portions and very tasty, this is the best value for your dollar, eat half for lunch and the rest heat it up for dinner

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico so I know how Puerto Rican food should taste. I ordered the Puerto Rico Sampler; two ‘sorullitos’(tasted really really good, two ‘alcapurrias’(they weren’t bad but not really authentic… there’s no potato in the meat filling), two ‘papas rellenas’(pretty good) and two ‘pastelillos’(the dough tasted old and it left kind of an after taste in your mouth). We also ordered ‘Sandwich de Pernil’ and that’s was actually really good. I would order it again. And also ordered a side of ‘tostones’ and they were really good but the plantain was a little on the ripe side. I would go back to taste other things off their menu.
