Good food. Inexpensive. Generous portions. Delicious boba tea. The food isn’t amazing, but it’s a decent meal when you’re in a hurry or don’t have a lot of money to spend. You can’t expect gourmet if you’re only paying $ 5.

I’m publishing this review to the point for all those who read Unilocal to get the gist, but don’t feel like reading an entire novel on one simple business… As a heads up, I wanted to be a true Unilocal trooper and try this place before making any assumptions, yet trying it wouldn’t have been necessary. Let’s first rename it Lee’s dyNASTY! Lee’s is definitely a place you want to steer away from if you’re afraid to see where your food comes from and how it is made. The location is perfect, next to the el in a little shop that looks as if rats and cockroaches roam and reproduce rapidly. The stench of artery clogging grease takes over the entire Damen block. Although the food is ultra quick, it’s suuuper greasy and who knows what the meat truly is. I’d avoid it at all costs. Take my word for it. Please!

Hey all just a heads up stay as far away from this place as possible. Seriously check out Nans or somewhere else this place was terrible. My girlfriend and I ordered tonight and got 3 simple things. After the delivery man getting into an argument with my doorman i had to go downstairs and find out he just didn’t want to go park his car. Kind of defeats delivery but whatever. We ordered 3(in my opinion staple type items) things. Crab rangoon, Mongolian beef, and Sesame Chicken. We shared everything and had lots of left overs. Wel not more than 30 minutes later we both got sick at the SAME time!!! Please head the warning i don’t know if this place is just dirty or what but explain to me how 2 people can get sick at the same time. Best of luck but avoid Lee’s!

A friend and I fell for the menus in the mail advertising. We wanted Chinese food and wanted to try some place new. He had the menu for Lee’s Dynasty so we drove over. We found parking less than a block away and as we were walking we noticed a nice looking Thai place across the street. I mentioned that the Thai place looked good but we decided that we would check out Lee’s Dynasty first. The«restaurant» was … dirty looking. The tables and chairs were clean enough but, the place just had a dirty feel to it. There was some health code sign on the wall that found their bathroom not suitable for public use. That kinda creeped me out. And in a corner I saw a roach/ant poison trap thing. Most of the food wasn’t bad though. I had the Chicken with Broccoli, it was made with the clear sauce and was peppery, which I love. My friend ordered the Empress Chicken and he really enjoyed the batter. It reminded me of donuts in a good way. The shrimp fried rice was dirty though. On first bite I was like, «Oh… that’s weird… they make it smokey.» And then I realized that it was because there were tiny bits of burnt flecks all throughout the rice. I wouldn’t go back.

I wasn’t expecting much from this place when I ordered… I just had a Chinese craving to appease. The delivery was prompt and the food was hot… but nothing to call my mother about. My pre-schooler sucked down the order of vegetable egg rolls(2) so fast that I am not even sure what they looked like… but he is not a foodie(yet). The shrimp fried rice had very fresh, large shrimp in it, but the rice itself tasted… off.

I tried to order from China Lite earlier and found out its closed! The boyfriend and I frantically searched for a place on Grub Hub that delivered AND took credit cards. We really should have looked up reviews ahead of time, but this place wasn’t too far and met our criteria. The food arrived quickly. We had generous portions, especially my dish. Our meals seemed very promising… until we tasted them. My combination Lo Mein is dripping with grease and it appears they put the burnt noodle scrapings in my container, since half of my noodles are crunchy! The seafood and chicken is edible, but the beef resembles lard hunks which I’m not really into. My boyfriend and a combo meal with hot and sour soup, Hunan pork, and shrimp fried rice. The soup was good, the pork wasn’t spicy and the rice was decent. The eggrolls were super bland. We most likely will not order from here again. I’ve had much better Chinese food

Ill start out by saying that I’m not a huge chinese food guy so take this review with a grain of salt(no pun intended). I just went here one night after work to get some take out chicken fried rice and some egg rolls for my wife and I. The food was kinda bland and wasnt fantastic at all. The place itself looked kinda shabby and looked like there might be a health code violation or 5 hidden back in the kitchen somewhere. I probably wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. There’s gotta be something better out there.

This is what I get for not reading the Unilocal reviews first. Fool. I’ve been cooking more lately, and relying less on take-out. It’s not a resolution, it’s just something I have to constantly remind myself to do. Because take-out is bad for my waist, heart, and wallet. But last night I had a hankering for some Chinese, and while I could have gone with one of my standbys, I decided to try something new. A bunch of Lee’s Dynasty menus had turned up in my hallway — not at all an uncommon event — so I decided to give them a try. It was a reminder to cook for myself. If a restaurant has an combination appetizer, I usually order that, especially on a first try. Lee’s has seven items in their combo. Not one of which I would ever order again. The eggrolls were small and shriveled and tasted sour, the teriyaki beef was dry, the fried shrimp were those odd oval things that bear little physical resemblance to shrimp. And so on. Don’t even get me started on the crab rangoon. I also ordered the Mongolian Three Ingredients, a Dynasty Special, which is Mongolian beef, chicken, and shrimp. The best thing can say is that the shrimp were completely shelled, which is not always the case.(My go-to place leaves the tail shell on, for some reason.) But the meat was kind of gummy, and the sauce was all but flavorless. It was Dine Nasty. The only good thing I can say about this place is that delivery is fast. If you can’t get better Chinese delivery than this, you need to move.

I think that everything was already said about this place in previous reviews, so I’m not adding anything new to the discussion with a fact that the food is absolutely disgusting and that the customer service is nonexistent. Also, this place looks like it should not be serving food. AVOID! Seriously, don’t be tempted like me because it was the only nearby Chinese place open on Christmas. Reflecting about that choice, I’d rather starve than attempt to consume their ‘food’ again.

I gave this place a shot because they feature pan-fried noodles on their menu and I was really pleasantly surprised with almost everything. Chinese delivery can be very hard to get right in this neighborhood and they’ve gotten the closest to pleasantly greasy, reasonably priced, American Chinese food. It arrived quickly and hot. Hot and sour soup was OK, loaded with vegetables, but, as almost always, could have been way hotter spice wise. The Ma Po Tofu was terrific– very garlicly with good solid blocks of tofu that held up in the sauce. Noodles were great and arrived with the toppings on top in the container(my preference) in a reusable container. Egg rolls were a bit disappointing, but, they were free so now I know to go with rangoon next time.

I don’t care what the food tastes like, they litter the neighborhood with their unwanted and unsolicited menus. That’s no way to get me to try your business.

Karma is not my friend. Now i’m stuck dealing with my feelings of guilt for cheating on my preferred chinese delivery place, and for kind of enjoying it. You know, in that seedy, if I don’t tell anyone it’s like it didn’t happen kinda way. I’ll admit I really only ordered because they have cantonese style thin fried noodles on the menu, but I wasn’t overly thrilled with what I received — was more like chicken lo mein. Eh, it still tasted ok, just wasn’t what I was craving. I also ordered the sweet and sour chicken lunch combo which was good — the pieces of chicken were huge, the rice was decent and the sauce was just sweet and thick enough. Cheap and basic. Sometimes that’s all you’re craving in a one night stand anyway.

Nothing exciting to see here folks. Move along the line please. The combo appetizer(my way of gauging the place) gets a B. The egg rolls were good but the sweet & sour chicken gets a boring C. My friend liked the general tao’s chicken. So… again, I have to keep looking for that great Chinese place that is out there somewhere, just not here.

This place may be fast but the food kind of sucks. Everything is way over thickened with corn starch or whatever they use. My chicken broccoli tasted liked it had been rescued from an oil tanker spill. Ditto for the hot and sour soup.

Only one real complaint, and that was the pan fried pot stickers were shriveled little bits. They do give you about 10 of them, but I’d rather have the plump ones. The Mongolian beef had a very good flavor and the beef was plentiful. The kung pao chicken was spicy and the flavor was right on, but there was only a small amount of chicken, and a ton of peanuts and other vegetables as filler. The egg rolls had a very good flavor, but arrived a *bit* soggy, nothing terrible, but they could’ve been more crispy. That could’ve been due to the delivery vs. dining in. Overall it’s a quality place, I’m not sure why it’s gotten such poor reviews here, it’s definitely above par for the area.

Lee’s is quick and conveniently located, but other than that, there is nothing remarkable about this place. With the exception of the vegetable dumplings, nothing that I’ve tried is good. Edible, yes. but I’d rather enjoy whatever I’m stuffing into my face. It’ll do in a pinch, but 9 times out of 10, I’ll keep walking and get something else from the numerous other establishments that are on my walk home from the Damen brown line station.

Anyone who has ever walked down Damen between Montrose and Lawrence knows there’s a string of Chinese and Thai places, and this one is probably the hardest to miss. It’s a tiny restaurant equipped with four tables and can probably seat a total of ten people, but this place is definitely all about takeout. The prices are average, as is the menu, but they’re probably the fastest cooks in Ravenswood. You don’t have to phone in an order to walk out with something within minutes. For an emergency Chinese run, this is the place to go.
