My daughter went here for an eye exam. The doctor told her she may have cancer in her eye, that he saw a dark spot on it and she’d need to see an ophthalmologist who would probably do a biopsy. So he gave her a referral to one. Certainly made her very upset and nervous, me too. I sent her to an ophthalmologist at Northwestern rather than the doc she was referred to. The possible«cancer»? Nothing there at all and doc said it was probably a fleck of makeup. MAKEUP. As well, in the meantime, I looked into eye cancer and it’s very rare they would ever do a biopsy as it spreads cancer cells. A lot of unnecessary stress, expense, time wasted and misinformation. Totally disgusted.

Super great service! Came in for an eye exam and to pick out a new pair of glasses during my lunch break, I was out in an hour no joke. That’s awesome! And my glasses were ready in 1hr. All my eye needs were meet in 2 hrs. That’s freakin fabulous. A really helpful gent was able to help me pick out the perfect pair of new specs and I was on my way! They fit and look perfect. Super happy with the service and speed.

Never going to use LensCrafter again, they just outright lie on their website about accepted insurance providers. I setup an appointment online for an eye checkup. Their website lists my insurance provider(BCBS) on their accepted list but when I get to the store, they tell me they cannot bill my insurer because they only have an optometrist and not an ophthalmologist on staff. Why couldn’t they tell this before so I did not waste my time and could have gone to a different store? I have a top notch insurance which is widely accepted at most vision stores in the city and I have regularly used it every year without any issues. Never going to these LensCrafters stores again after such a terrible experience, you lost a customer for good and will tell all my co-workers/friends to stay away from LensCrafter.

Ambreen Rahman is da bomb. I came a bit early and they asked me to wait about five minutes, and then took me through processing(Anastasia was friendly but spoke a bit too quickly; would help to slow down.) Dr. Ambreen Rahman listened to my tale of prescription neglect and manipulation(I had taken matters into my own hands when a previous Lenscrafters doctor in LA had been wholly unresponsive.) Dr. Rahman listened patiently to what I wanted, what I had not liked about the previous prescription and doctor, and worked with me to give me some options and then settle on something that worked for me. She gave me her card and told me to call her to troubleshoot over the phone if I had questions, which was a great touch. And she was both very professional and very friendly at the same time, which was a big plus. Short summary: I’d travel a fair distance to see her and get that kind of service! My home Lenscrafters could learn a great deal from her. The rest of the staff was courteous and helpful as well!

I had a GREAT experience! I needed replacement glasses before I left for vacation, and Louis(the Manager) was helpful and got me what I needed. He was courteous, called me back quickly and made my life 100 times easier.

This is my 2nd visit to this establishment. My 1st time here was exceptional thanks to the optometrist, Dr. Ambreen Rahman. She was professional, knowledgeable & made me feel at ease during my exam. My 2nd visit was phenomenal thanks to an eye care advisor by the name of James Brown. He was friendly & honest regarding what frames best fit my face. Additionally, he helped me to decide on polarized lenses for my sunglasses & the amount of daily contact lenses to buy based on usage & my budget. Because of the awesome customer service provided by these two professionals, I will return here for my future eye care needs.

I found myself visiting Chicago with only half of my contacts. Whoops! The courteous staff here graciously gave me trial lenses free of charge to get me through my trip. THANKS!

Customer service here is awful. In person, they can care less and even worse over he phone. It’s such a shame. For this location, they should really update their staff.

I have read all the reviews and I must say, I have been coming here for 3 years and have always had a good experience. They are in my neighborhood, have great hours and I have always found the employees to be friendly and helpful. 2 days ago I went in and picked out a pair of glasses and needed progressive bifocal lenses. Left exactly 55 minutes later with my new glasses. They take my insurance and always seem willing to help me figure out a way to get the best price. I will continue to patronize this business.

Well Lenscrafters, you just lost a customer. My last contact got ripped and I had to throw it away before receiving my new ones in the mail. I walked down to this location, where I had a vision test and lens fitting, to hopefully get a trial lens so that I could see. The lady working there told me that this was only possible if I ordered some contacts through them right now. Since I do not want to pay $ 20 more than buying online and I already had an order with Vision Direct, I didn’t do this. Maybe this is their«policy» to only give the trials with an exam since the trial lenses were«included» with the exam… Don’t these trials come from the manufacturers? It would have cost them nothing to give me ONELENS. I did ask if I could make an appointment for glasses in a couple of weeks, which is when my new vision insurance kicks in. I didn’t make that appointment and I will be making it somewhere else. I had been to this location multiple times since it is convenient but I’ll never go back, not when there are 10 other places in the area that I can go to. One trial lens is all I asked for and was willing to make an appointment for glasses in a couple of weeks. I’m done with this place.

Ok, I had an eye exam and purchased two pairs of glasses. I found several staff members very memorable from service level standpoint and a couple not so much, specifically the main manager, he seemed a bit«important» and kinda pompous. None the less, I found the optometrist helpful, even though I’m not convinced that my prescription had not changed, especially when they reviewed my original prescription prior to performing my exam. It seemed a bit cursory.

This place is the most unresponsive and unorganized eye care place I’ve been to. I’ve been trying to get my contact trials for a month now and unable to. My first trials irritated my eyes so I wanted another pair before I open my one year supply. They keep on giving me one roundabout excuse after another. This is probably because I’ve already made a big purchase over 2k so they don’t care to service me anymore. Now they are saying that my contact prescription is not an easy one to get a hold of. How is that possible when the first time I went in they had it. I would highly suggest not going to this LensCrafters because they have bad service and will not care about you as a customer after your purchase. I will not be returning for my annual exam!

When I noticed numbers on my lens I have to admit I was upset and inconsolable. Why spend close to a grand(half that with insurance) when your glasses feel like they came from a drugstore? Jean to the rescue, it turns out all lens have these numbers but some are just etched in by laser too deep, this rarely happens. She gladly helped me to pick some new frames and was really confident and reassuring. I love my new frames! Lenscrafters nail it every time. Problems happen with all venders, it is how they handle the issue that counts!

This LensCrafters has a better selection than most and it has the ever patient Toni. I’m a bit high maintenance when it comes to my vision. The ever present kind Toni helped me through it all and I have the fab frames to prove it. Thank you Toni!’

Completely ridiculously inept. Went in for a pair of prescription lens sunglasses back in April and it has now been TWOMONTHS and I’m the one that has to call them every week or two to figure out what’s taking so long. They never bother to call me. Then just today when I called AGAIN because TWOMONTHS is TOOLONG to wait for a simple pair of sunglasses, then they inform me it’s because they have my phone number wrong. When they tell me the number they have for me it’s clear that it’s their mistake because it is so wrong from my actual number. The frames were scratched, have to wait some more, then the 2nd pair are scratched again, so gotta wait some more, then they had the wrong number and didn’t call me even though they have my email address. Last time they just gave me the defective sunglasses to wear while I wait for the right ones and they needed to have them back to switch the lenses out and into the new ones. Wish someone had told me that so I would have made sure to bring the old ones back in! They made it seem like they were defective and just a random holdover till I got the good ones. Agh. I never want to have to go back again, but I do, one last time to switch the lenses out. I have anxiety just about seeing the place now bc every time I walk in or call there’s a problem. Two months and counting. I deeply regret having chosen this place. I wish so much I’d gone somewhere else… This is endless… No compensation for their incompetence. Still waiting…

As mentioned in several reviews, it is a high traffic location. You live in a city, people. Get used to it. That being said, the level of customer service was phenomenal. I went in around 5pm on a weekday with a pair of broken sunglasses. I was out maybe 20 minutes later after being denied by a few other glasses stores. They fixed them for free! Derrick(Derek?) was nearly running around the store and did it all without losing a smile. To me, that is the best customer service there is. Thank you!

Service here as inept as it comes. They took over an hour to see me for a scheduled appointment and then didn’t place my contact order. However, they did manage to charge for it. Equipment and store seem tired and unclean. No one has returned my call to explain charge and absence of my order. I highly recommend going to a real optometrist.

The reason this is not a one-star review is for the two people who helped bring this up tremendously. The female cashier who got me into a room after my FORTY-minute wait(after making a flipping appointment), and the eye doctor, herself. The cashier was very pleasant, even if the process took freakin’ forever. The doctor was also very kind. I appreciate that. I hadn’t read the reviews before I came in here, but I would have ignored them anyway on the basis that I waited until the last minute to get my contact exam before vacation and my regular place was booked. The wait, on the other hand was atrocious. Enough to warrant a really unhappy customer. I get that you’re busy. But don’t make appointments if you can’t honor them. I went on my lunch hour, and over an hour and half does not a lunch HOUR make. I had to skip lunch in order to race back to the office and not miss any more time. Thank God for Jimmy John’s and their freaky fast delivery.

I read the reviews before going to this location, but went there due to convenience of the location. I should have listened to all the other complaints! Dr. Mani Chhibba refused to write me a prescription for any other contact lens besides Night and Day. I have worn and had 0 issues with Acuvue my whole life. They should not be allowed to force a brand on customers. I did try the Night & Day out for a month(even though I tried them in the past and did not like them) to try and see if maybe they have improved or my eyes would adjust, but they didn’t. GOELSEWHERE, anywhere else!!! Please note that Dr. Chhibba is typically not at this location.

Okay so what’s a reasonable amount of time to sit in an empty waiting area after your appointment time passes? I’m okay with 10 or 15 minutes, but for two years in a row I’ve waited in excess of 30MINUTES! Why did I even make an appointment? What are they doing… making eyeballs back there?
