Liquorama is fantastic! The selection of scotches, bourbons, tequila’s, and beers is stellar! Peter was extremely helpful with my selection choices over the phone. His suggestions were spot on for what I was looking for. After talking on the phone, it made me excited to check out the store ASAP. When I arrived at the store the next day Vicki greeted me with a big smile.:) Her knowledge was amazing on all her products, which is super impressive. She walked me thru the store describing the nuances of scotches, whiskeys, bourbon, tequila in the small amount of time that I had, and impressed me even more with her special knack of food and drink pairings. I wish I had more time when I went because it was a great experience. When I left, I had to share my experience with a friend who is quite picky of his liquor selection. He said he had to check out Liquorama the next day because of what selection and customer service I experienced. He became a happy customer as well! On the next visit I hope to meet Peter in person. You have a loyal customer for life! Thank you so much!

I’m a bourbon guy myself but this place is a gem for all sorts of indulgence. Their whiskey selection rocks and their beer selection is out of this world. Best part, they are willing to spend time taking you on a journey through all of it. This bourbon lover left with a Japanese whiskey and three beers and is loving all of them. Go meet these folks and check out their selection, they are truly top notch people.

On a road trip from ND to NY and my husband googles best liquor stores in Chicago and he chose liquorama for its picture of fine bourbon. It did not disappoint! Great variety, hard to find items, great prices, CLEAN, friendly and knowledgable staff. ABSOLUTELY worth getting off the highway for!

I grew up a couple blocks from Liquorama and it remains one of the best liquor stores in Chicago. In addition to the friendly and helpful service they carry a varied and curated selection of beers, tequilas and assorted liquers.

I admit, I’m not exactly a normal-looking human being — from most people’s standpoints. Occasionally, that works in my favor. I can walk into a restaurant for the third time, and I can tell that the waitstaff recognize me, for better or worse. On some occasions, like the day I walked into Liquorama, that did NOT apparently work in my favor. From the second I stepped in, I felt like… someone was watching me. And, like I do in most shopping establishments I enter for the first time, I spend a long time perusing the aisles — scrutinizing how many deals they have, what prices they’re offering for products that I can recall seeing in other shops and how they compare. And yet, I kept having that feeling… I finally made it up and down pretty much every aisle when finally a person I’d seen several times before actually approached me and asked me for my backpack, so he could hold it behind the counter. Now, this is a common rule in establishments, pretty much in stores or areas where they experience a lot of theft. The neighborhood I live in isn’t perfect, but I’m used to this practice. Especially when it’s mentioned upon ENTERING(with signage or a diligent employee monitoring and handling this stuff). I was dismayed that this wasn’t asked of me upon ENTERING. I was allowed to wander the store for nigh on twenty minutes before they bothered to ask me for my bag. It got me thinking, «Do I look that much like a criminal?» I was sure that the suspicions I had walking in of being watched were probably accurate. I was a new face in the store, but I certainly wasn’t an under-21 patron(they never even carded me when I made my purchase) and I don’t think my actions suggested I was either a criminal mastermind plotting, or a smash-and-grab idiot casing the joint. I guess that walking around for 20 minutes without actually picking up a product for purchase may have seemed suspicious, but when I just have my backpack with me, I scope out what and how many items I plan on purchasing before grabbing them for purchase. Anyway, I wasn’t TOO put off, gave them my backpack, and decided I’d had enough. I selected my items for purchase(a discounted bottle of Black Cherry vodka that was a good price and some Guinness«Extra Foreign») and headed to the checkout. They were very friendly people upon checkout — some light conversation and all smiles — but it was hard to shake the thought of them watching me for so long and determining«we better get his bag» after such a long time. Again, I have no issues with stores holding my backpack while I shop — as long as they’re up-front about it and I can tell it’s a general policy and that I’m not being targeted or singled out in any way. As for my evaluation of the wares, all in all I wasn’t too impressed. They did have a few deals that would make it worthwhile shopping here for liquor, but only to buy the items on sale. Most everything not on sale was at the average or slightly-higher prices than I’m used to seeing. But their selection is pretty good. They have a healthy array of indie/craft/microbrew beers to choose from, though I would have REALLY liked a Hitachino or two supplementing their Asian items. I love the idea of craft beers, but I do not in any way love the thought of paying $ 8 for one bottle of beer. Except for those rare instances where I can find Banana Bread Beer. This was not one of those instances. Either way, after making my selection(after not being carded, which I found a little odd), I was able to retrieve my bag and load my purchases inside. I even signed up for their e-mail newsletter, in case they have a deal on a liquor I need. But that’s the only way I think I’ll be lured back here — an incredible deal on a liquor I’m really looking for. Until then, I don’t think I’ll be seeing you around, Liquorama. It’s not you, it’s me. No wait… It’s you.

They have a parking lot. It was actually very nice and clean in there. They had what I was looking for. Bartenura Moscato — Recommended by Kevin Hart… lol! Mine still in the fridge, so it better be good. If it is, I’ll have easy access to it. They have like a small area that sells cigarettes and scratch off tickets. I saw they had a Cubs scratch off ticket so had to buy it. Yeah, I’m a Cubs fan… from the southside. Definitely a spot to check out for your liquor needs if you are in the area.

Well stocked. I am not a big drinker but I get invited to a lot of parties and just as my mom taught me I should never arrive to a party empty handed. I am pretty sure she did not mean bring alcohol LOL(JK love you mama, I am a good boy and rarely drink). Any way, this is my place to go. They are well stocked and have things that I have never seen let alone drunk. Service is super nice, always ready for a quick joke and that is pretty cool. Liquorama is the place to go

when i was a youngster, like 4 years old(in the late 70s), i used to go here every two weeks with my dad to get his dad a case of peppermint schnapps and a case of cartons of parliament cigarettes. I remember i used to call the schnapps«Blue Lagagia» cause i was just a kid, and probably because it had a blue label. fast forward to the 2000s and i get a job down the street and it becomes a regular stop for my beer on my way home when i was living on the north side, because they would always have good specials. like for a period of time they had goose island on sale for like $ 2.99 a sixer and i kept buying it week after week and they were like«nobody around here drinks this north side shit.» respect.

They’ll have bourbon tastings and buy pallets of random beers to sell for $ 3 a six-pack(last year it was shiner’s hefeweizen). Between this and Town & Country on 47th. Brighton and Gage Park are well stocked!
