While I was waiting on my tattoo artist @ Ageless Tattoo to re-illustrate my tattoo, I decided to get a bite to eat since I was gonna end up being there awhile. Manolo’s is located a block south of the tattoo parlor so I didn’t have to go too far. Pretty cool peeps working here as they were telling me whats good to eat here. I decided to get their spicy tamales(pepper & cheese tamale and pork tamale). The pepper & cheese was a little spicy while delicious and the pork wasn’t really spicy at all, but was decent. I also got tacos(carne asada and al pastor). Both were good but as usual the carne asada outshines the al pastor. The tamales were around 90 cents while the tacos were $ 2.00 each so this place is pretty light on the pockets. Horchata was ordered as well… good stuff!

If you come here be prepared to wait a long time. I came in not too long go. I only ordered a Torta. Took them close to half an hour just to finish making my order. The waitresses have no skills, and have a bad attitude. The tamales are good, I’ll give them that, but the rest of the restaurant needs improvement starting with the staff

Manolo’s has a couple of south side locations and now they’ve migrated slightly north to Little Village. Tamales are pretty good. $ 10 a dozen or 90¢ each. The chicken ones in green sauce were my fav. Decent sized, not too small, not too thin, like El Milagro’s seem to be. They have sweet ones too. Strawberry, guava and pineapple. The champurrado was of good consistency and had a nice hint of cinnamon.
