Called today before heading over, and they closed their storefront six months ago. Unfortunately N. Fagin Books only exists in warehouse form now. They were extremely nice in looking up a book I was looking for, though. If you’re looking for something they specialize in, give them a call.

Great store run by the sweetest folks you could ever hope to meet. They specialize in used Anthropology books, ranging from every subject in this genre imaginable. They also have some great fiction and nonfiction finds, as well as unique antique objects, like glass slide negatives or maps, for sale. And the whippets who live here are PRECIOUS. They only take cash, and they are open rather strange hours, but other than that, this is a great used bookstore.

Awesome place. Awesome people. Awesome prices. Awesome Whippets(the owners dogs). If you’re into studying peoples and cultures this place is heaven. They also have a massive $ 1-$ 3 area with books I’m sure anyone would want to read.

Idyllic used bookstore. Lots and lots of books(even the bathroom had bookshelves that we’re completely filled) — a great selection of classics & all kinds of nonfiction. Really inexpensive prices, narrow aisles, imperfect order, kind/helpful/interesting workers(maybe owners?), a radio in the front tuned to NPR, a couple of dogs that like to follow you around… I ended up paying $ 5 for 4 books(although the actual total was 9.65… He wanted ones instead of bigger bills). Definitely worth visiting, but I’d call first. The hours are pretty odd.

If you are looking for books on Anthropology, the natural sciences or ethic art this is *THE* place to go in Chicago. A mix of used and new books all very reasonably priced.
