Does anyone know what happened? My aunt has been going here for years and wanted to know why they closed and if anyone know how to recreate their famous recipes? Please let me know if you have any info!

I picked some things up for a small meeting — got a pound of cookies and a box of kolackys. The cookies were good. The kolackys were fabulous — the best kolackys I have had. And for what I got, they were fairly inexpensive too. I spent less than $ 20. I will go out of my way to get to this place in the future. I may even book another meeting at the nearby Oriole Park Library just to be able to bring kolackys to it. NOTE: Other reviews are correct, it’s cash only, and they seem to open early and close fairly early too.

Bakery and lotto tickets, interesting combo. I can buy some dough and maybe win some also. Actually I don’t know if you can buy dough, I did buy some rye bread you can choose with or without caraway seeds, nice option. For us seeds always! Over my visits here I’ve tried various things, and as others have commented it’s all good, there definitely is a better selection earlier in the day as with any bakery. Easy parking right in front, and just steps down from the Pet Supplies Plus, so be a mensch and don’t forget to pick up treats for your pet, or you’ll have to share your pastries.

Oven Fresh Bakery is located at the Harlem-Foster Shopping Center, and truly wonderful things are happening on the inside. A lovely, smallish type of place where upon entering you just feel the warmth and the aromas of baked goods. And, Oven Fresh has a great assortment of items to choose from at some of the most reasonable prices I have found yet. Lots of beautifully decorated cookies, sweet rolls, big fluffy paczi’s, lots of fresh baked breads to choose from too! And, cakes, some of the best looking, freshest tasting cakes around, whipped cream and the lightest of buttercreams, some buttercreams tend to be too sweet and have a lard like aftertaste. Not Oven Fresh’s Buttercream, so light and fresh, This place is definitely worth a visit and but make sure you bring cash for this is a cash only operation. And, honestly, you can spend a little here and get a lot, so it’s a win-win either way! Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely little bakery, I’m sure you’ll be as impressed as I was.:)

Have had the donuts and croissants. Fresh and delicious. Also very friendly. Only negative-cash only. Long john envy is a plus in this situation. :/

Have any of these folks ever been to a real bakery??? Really low quality– would love to write a great review because we live so close– just can’t. My daughter spit their cookies out– I’ve given them too many chances– never again/never had any good bakery here

Best place to get Kolache in Chicago. I used to live near here but now live out of State. I stop here every time I’m in Chicago.

The oven fresh bakery is a good bakery for a quick stop for breakfast. They have a great selection of cookies, donuts, pastries, etc. I am a huge fan of the cinnamon donuts. I think that they have a great taste and are just so light and airy. My only criticism would be to skip the long johns… really don’t like those and also, the sugar twist is okay but is a little dry. Skip the chocolate cake donuts. Probably my least favorite. In all, this bakery is really good. The customer service is good and the place is clean overall.

I’ve been going to this bakery since the early 1980’s and it has changed alot when it was sold and changed to a more Polish-type of bakery. I use to LOVE the Swedish flop here, which they still have but the crème is different than it use to be and the cake part is hard and dry as in Polish desserts. The best thing about this place is the cookies! They melt in your mouth! One must go there and try what they like since everyone’s tastes are different. One thing I can say for sure is that this bakery is better than most others and certainly better than going to a grocery store bakery. Check it out and make up your own mind!

I stopped in here on a whim and I am happy I did. There donuts are the best I ever had especially the raspberry filled. You can tell the ingredients used are so much better than you’re local Dunkin. We also enjoy the Danishes. I have been going here a year now. Dunkin does not see a penny from me any more.

I stopped here this year for Paczkis. Luckily, they still had plenty left when I ran over on my lunch break to feed the need. I ended up with 1 apricot, 1 blueberry, 1 pineapple, 1 rose, 1 raspberry, 1 strawberry jelly, 2 fresh strawberry with buttercream(they were out of the fresh strawberry w/whipped cream already), 2 cheese, 2 custard filled powdered sugar topped. A dozen was $ 16 and some change. The fresh strawberry ones were probably my favorite… though I think they’d have been even better with whipped cream. The cheese paczkis were amazing, I might get a doz of just those next year. The custard paczkis seemed more dry and had less filling but were still good. The blueberry, raspberry and strawberry jelly were all ok. The rose and pineapple ones weren’t my favorites, I wont’ get those again. The pineapple one had a strong artificial flavor I just couldn’t get behind. CASHONLY.
