We ordered delivery from Grubhub, which I was excited about since I’ve been wanting to try it for a while. The chicken sandwich was really good! Different from the usual chicken sandwich at restaurants because of the sweet bun, cilantro, and flavored chicken. I was SO excited about the plantains, and they were okay but a little hard. I wish they would’ve been softer, but I’m not sure if it was just a bad batch or what. The potatoes with gravy and cheese were also really tasty! The gravy itself was yummy and not too thick. I was really excited about the banana ketchup also, but it wasn’t as tasty as I thought it would be. Oh well! Overall it was good flavor and something different from the standard dinner choices. The price wasn’t bad either.

Not bomb-dot-com amazing, but it was good. It’s hard to find Filipino restaurants and so far I like what I taste. My bf was craving a late night snack/meal. We got 1lbs of spicy wings. They weren’t spicy at all to me. There were 3 different sauces. Brown was the best, but mixed the red and brown together to add a kick. We’ll definitely be back. The cook seems to take their job seriously and is very craft. I look forward until the next time to try something like… Coconut adobo and plantains with jackfruit chutney.

All about loving the baked chicken, green in coconut milk, garlic fried rice, potatoes and gravy, plantains, and spicy corn. And when I have been in my rare mood where I haven’t wanted to put any thought into what kind of drink I wanted from the bar, the server/bartender did perfect coming up with a concoction for my thirst. As for restaurants in the neighbouring area, Pecking Order is first in the pecking order. Wah, wah, waaaahhhh.

I have tried food items from Pecking Order at a couple of events, and based on that I had mentally bookmarked this place for a visit. For whatever reason this spot on Clark a tad north of Montrose can be easy to miss, so the chalkboard staked by the front door is a good idea. My gal pal and I visited Pecking Order early on a recent blustery weekend evening, and the portable heater stationed near the front is another good idea. The long interior of the restaurant is cozy, with some fowl-themed artwork on the walls. There were some high tables with high chairs for larger groups, but no one wanted any part of these tables when we were there. We enjoyed the beers that led off our meal. I ordered a pound of fried chicken wings, which comes out to be about 8 winglet pieces. The chicken is not American-style fried a la Popeye’s, but Filipino-style so the wings seem almost delicately flavored. Good but not great. My friend ordered A Bowl of Good Stuff, a curious name for a rice bowl with coconut curry chicken and some veggies. The curry is definitely the strongest element here. By far the best item I ate was the coconut adobo rice arancini, a side order of three savory garlic rice balls stuffed with chicken. The green onion-garlic sauce had that color of the green sauce you see in all Peruvian restaurants, but this sauce was not that zingy. We also had a special side order that evening, mac and cheese with longaniza sausage. It was a pretty good plate of mac and cheese, but the longaniza did not seem to add much to the flavor of the dish. I would say that the level and speed of the service was fine during our visit. I would like to say that I liked the chicken better, but I thought it was just decent. Perhaps I needed to add some of the sauces tothe wings, but I do not recall seeing any until we finished our meal and I saw bottles on another table. Oh well.
