Of the 4 orders I saw them take, they screwed up 3 in addition to mine. It wasn’t swamped, it wasn’t complicated, and it wasn’t a rarity to have a few people in there at lunch time. I guess they don’t need repeat service with jury duty across the street.

Painfully slow service. Never again! You are better off eating at the court house cafeteria across the street. My simple order took about 20 minutes. Fast food? More like slow poke food. One and done!

The worst franchise that I’ve ever been to! The service was not good and the prices are unreasonable. $ 2 for one chicken wing. I work in the area and would rather drive out of my way than go there again. Worse Popeyes ever!

Other than home-girl giving me a mild attitude(I don’t blame her I’d be mad too if I worked there) they hook it up, always find an extra tender and they fill the fries.

I only resorted to eating at Popeye’s because I didnt have any cash, and there was no where else within the vicinity of Chicago’s Criminal Court. This Popeye’s is less than a block away from the criminal court. The lines are long during the lunch break but the service is pretty quick. I had the three strips combo meal. Honestly I didnt think it was great. It was only ok. The drink was raspberry lemonade. It was really watered down and bland. I personally enjoyed it bland, but thought I would throw that out there to those of you who like your drinks super sweet. There is no public restroom here but they have a sink next to the napkins where you can wash your hands. Totally random but a good way to prevent getting H1N1! This place accepts Visa and Mastercard and located outside the restaurant is an ATM in case you need cash.

This Popeye’s is the place to be when you’re summoned to jury duty. After a short and unsuccessful walk to find other options, my new jury duty buddy and I settled on some chicken. It was my first time to a Popeye’s and I was really excited to see that they offer different options for your side dish. Mashed potatoes & gravy? Mac and cheese? Yes, please! I can’t think of a better place to share a meal with a complete stranger. My chicken sandwich and mac & cheese were good. A-OK! I will definitely be back the next time I’m called to do my civic duty. I think I’ll have a biscuit next time. Yummy…

Popeye’s is a great franchise all on its own, so it automatically gets four stars in my book. This location is conveniently located next to the Cook County criminal courthouse which is next to the giant prison. I had the pleasure of visiting this location after being summoned for standby jury duty, and it really took the edge off of sitting around and reading for hours on end waiting to find out if you’ll be asked to be a jury member. I think it was just my luck that I hit this place as Popeye’s started a new promotion, but they have a delicious cheap sandwich called the Delta Mini and it’s a little sandwich with a chicken tender and some honey mustard sauce, I think. I didn’t get a chance to try their Chicken Biscuit, which I’m told is just a biscuit sliced in half with a chicken tender in the middle — but combining a delicious chicken tender with a delicious biscuit can’t be anything but super-delicious! Not that many specials, and the staff was a bit lacking in pep and cheeriness in general. Perhaps they had just recently finished a large wave of jury folks less than an hour prior to my arrival and they were tired from the busy period. All I know is that they were friendly enough to answer my questions, and the food was delicious, as always. Not enough to pump this place up to five stars, but good enough to keep it at the four star rating for being a Popeye’s and having delicious food in general.
