Visited on a Saturday night with two friends. We all got the Restaurant Week menu. All the food was good. Our waitress was very nice and gave good service. There was a little bit miscommunication between the servers and the kitchen because my food didn’t all come out right. I also placed my drink in front of me and the drink slid right off the table into my lap. When I told the waitress she said it happened at least once a day because the tables were not straight and then got me a new one. Not overly impressed with the place, but enjoyed the menu for Restaurant Week.

Review is for a grub hub delivery What I ordered was $ 13 cheeseburger(served alacarte) side of sweet potatoes fries $ 4 The $ 17 a bit pricey but ok: IF“the burger was at a minimum acceptable which it wasnt!!! . WHAT I received was an individual burger in a styrofoam container which has no chance of retaining food warm. Today’s deliveries if you choose to participate avails restaurants of many acceptable food containers for for to go. Any one that charges $ 13 for ala carte burger and $ 4 for fries has enough profit marging for upscale packaging… or don’t offer delivery!!!

Disaster. Even the girl who delivered was in such a hurry she dropped one the bags in front of me. Hamburgers so over cooked. Resemble flat hockey pucks. Sweet potato fries freezing cold. Not even close to quality food. If the owners read this please consider refunding our overpriced disappointing dinner the went in the garbage. Suggestion– styrofoam does not retain heat.

Thanksgiving dinner disaster!!! Here I go… Never thought I would write a bad review for any restaurant… Until I decided to order Thanksgiving dinner from Porkchop — worst customer service ever!!! So… I placed my order with Ashley Resa(catering manager)… Everything was going fine — dinner for 12 people(smoked turkey, spinach, cranberry sauce, stuffing and gravy). Was my first time hosting Thanksgiving dinner and I wanted everything to be perfect… The big day arrives and I arranged someone to pickup my order, after picking up the order, the person realizes that something is missing… but Porkchop staff says everything is fine… which wasn’t… The order came without the gravy, the turkey was dry and the taste was terrible… I called them… And they said they couldn’t do anything about it… I tried to reach Ashley, she never answered my emails or return my phone calls… after several days, Sarah called saying the owner was going to contact me(never happened)… Actually I got a phone call from a lady offering me a «50% discount dinner experience» at Porkchop!!! Really?! After all the trouble and terrible food, why would I go there?! Their catering service is the worst!!!

If you love meat and hearty bourbon drinks, Porkchop is the spot! Food is flavorful and tender. I recommend the sausage lollipops as an appetizer! Very tasty!

Ok we loved our waitress. The place is great. But the service is awful. 30 mins for our drinks. We sat at our table for 20 min before anyone came to us. The owner needs to hire bus boys bar backs and runners the poor waitresses are running around like crazy. The men’s bathroom is disgusting and the flood lights in the building are hanging by a thread… The best part is that the pork chop we ordered was so over cooked we could hardly cut it. The place is called PORKCHOP. Had to send it back for a burger that was also over-cooked…The pulled pork and burger was great tho

I was honestly discouraged to see some of mediocre reviews when I first researched this place. I booked a last-minute surprise birthday dinner here for my wife and because we had a large group, these were one of the only places that could accommodate on short notice. I think because there are tons of options in Randolph/West Loop, folks have high expectations of all places there. The place is definitely casual but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad restaurant. The food was very good and the service was even better. We had the fried ribs, mac n’ cheese and corn bread… all delicious. It’s the first time I’ve had fried ribs and I’d come back just to order that. Our friends had the bacon-wrapped shrimp, BBQ sliders, fried pickles, BBQ wings and ribs and I heard nothing but complements with the food they got. There are also tons of whiskey and drink options and honestly, the service was great. Other reviews beg to differ but our waitstaff was very accommodating to our large group. I think because some of them are actually doubling as bartenders and waiters, there could be some challenges but all in all, our service was great.

Saw this place on Chicago’s Best and came to try it out. We drove from the burbs and go there around 12AM. It’s was kinda dead for a Friday night. We were seated immediately, but the place we sat was extremely cold near the door and the vents blowing directly down from above. When the waitress came she told us to be careful with the uneven table. When we made our request for a different table, she gave us a weird look and informed us that anywhere else would be the same. And told us there was no vents. She only needed to look up. Ten minutes late she came back to take our order and I asked her how many pieces were on the fried chicken dinner. She didn’t give a direct answer and seemed clueless. We ordered the chicken dinner and the briskets. For $ 17 dollars each we definitely expect it to be great. The chicken had great seasoning and that crispy skin with the chicken gravy was amazeball in my mouth. The potato was too mustardy for my taste, but the bean was on point. The brisket was tender and not too overwhelming in the smoky flavor. The coleslaw was kinda bland. The food didn’t disappoint, but the service was majorly lacking. She did not come back once to ask if we needed anything or how the food was. Half way through the meal she brought out the check. The need better waitress.

Food? Meh Service? Meh Prices? Meh Location? Outstanding. If you stumble in here while on restaurant row, just know it could be worse. It also could be better. Way way way better. There was nothing stand-out about the BBQ here. Came with a group of 10 and didn’t hear anyone say their food was anything other than average.

Confused about how this place is in business. We had food catered from Porkchop for lunch in our office. We ordered for 70 and only received 40 sandwiches. They were unable to bring more sandwiches that day… kind of an awkward experience to start eating lunch and realize that half of the office won’t get any food… They did promise free sandwiches for our office on a different day, so we were excited to give them another chance. We planned a happy hour for the office with the intent of using our raincheck. We tried calling for weeks and left messages, but no one was able to help us or return our calls. Besides the horrible service, the food was very average and not memorable.

Stopped into porkchop for lunch. The name porkchop may be a little misleading as from what I could tell there were no porkchops on the menu. There was however plenty of pork. The restaurant itself is cool little divey joint. There was a really cool piece of décor that was comprised of saws chained together and hanging from the ceiling. The service was pretty good considering there was one server who also acted as the host and one bartender. There were about 5 – 6 tables and he handled it no problems. The food was very good too. I had a pulled pork sandwich served on a pretzel bun and a side of cornbread with a honey butter to dip. The cornbread on its own was really good but I didn’t care for the butter. The pork was flavorful and their chipotle BBQ sauce was quite tasty. Overall it was a good experience I would certainly go back if I was nearby. So I would recommend.

To put this in perspective; I’ve been a Unilocal/OpenTable user for years, but no one restaurant has ever sucked enough to get me to actually write a review. That moment has finally arrived. Here’s a message for all BBQ restaurant owners: I know how to use the unlimited supply of sauce you provide on your tables. I don’t need you to drench my food before it ever lands on the table. The meat was a disgusting soup like splatter on my plate, partly because of the excess sauce and part due to the fat in the brisket. The sweet potato fries were the worst I’ve tasted Blunty stated, Porkchop was absolutely atrocious.

Awful. 1. Half of draught beers not available. 2. Draught beer system not working. All beers flats. 3. Two hours after ordering, no food. 4. Incapable, incompetent service. Wasn’t even available to ask them to screw off on dinner and give us the check for our flat beers. 5. Will be out of business soon.

If you’re wondering how a restaurant on Randolph Street manages to only have 3 stars, just come to Porkchop. Actually no, save your time and money. Granted we came in at the tail end of the Taste Randolph festival, so maybe a slip up here or there is expected… But a good restaurant would plan ahead and maybe anticipate some things that might trip them up. We were seated at the long communal table toward the door, and waited at least 10 minutes before our waitress even came over to say she would«be right back» before disappearing for another 10 minutes. When she did finally come back, she wasn’t even ready to take our orders and had to come back again. We finally were able to order drinks and food at the same time since we’d been looking at the menu for over 20 minutes at that point. The one star is for the beer – great selection of draft, bottles, and cans. We went with the Revolution saison, a great summer beer but also a great anytime beer. But they’ve also got a bunch of local and national craft beers. For food, I ordered pulled pork tacos with a side of collard greens(because I can’t see collards on ANY menu and not order them) and my boyfriend got the pulled pork sandwich and a side of red beans and rice. The pulled pork was tasty on both the tacos and the sandwich, and would probably earn this place another star if our entire order of food hadn’t been cold. Some dude came up to us as we were drinking our beers and said«hey, did you guys order food?» When we answered in the affirmative, he just walked away, so maybe that explains why the food was cold. The tacos come with salsa but the bbq sauce is a better option. Also, the collard greens were basically a few soggy, tasteless greens that tasted like they hadn’t been flavored with anything. I contemplated asking for some vinegar but realized it might take another 10 minutes so I decided against it. This may have just been an off night for Porkchop, and this was just my single experience, but it is definitely at the bottom of my Chicago barbecue list. Also, the bathroom line was literally out the door because people were coming in from the festival to use it. It got to the point where a guy was going through the line asking people if they were actually eating and drinking in the restaurant, and people would just say«oh yeah, over there» and just point in any random direction. Just a strange situation. We likely won’t be returning and definitely would not recommend.

This place is known… for their pork. Located on Randolph, this place faces stiff competition from neighboring restaurants galore. The inside of the place is nice and homely, with interesting decorations like rusty saws and butcher knives hanging the wall. I ordered the pulled-pork sandwich and it was phenomenal. It was sandwiched in between two well-baked buns and you get your choice of various BBQ sauces. I think my favorite was the«Damn Good» BBQ sauce. It had a nice small and subtle kick to it and went well with my sammich. The fries that came with the sandwich was deep-fried to a decent golden-brown. The wait staff was nice and attentive, and was helpful as well.

Slow service, mediocre staff, few items on the menu stuck out as enticing. Highly recommend the fried ribs, excessive but tasty. Make the effort to walk a few more blocks up Randolph, food choices increase exponentially.

I have walked by here so many times and final made it in a couple weeks ago for brunch. The skillet I had was decent, but the potatoes seemed a bit tired in it. I tried the Benedict with bbq chicken. The chicken was so dry that I am not sure whether they don’t know how to cook it in the first place or it was just really old. Hate to say it, but there are too many great food options in the area that I won’t be back.

Porkchop has potential, but it just falls short in both service and food. When we walked in with another couple we all stood there for at least 5 minutes before someone came up to seat us. We were honestly just about to walk out when the hostess walked up. They really should make sure they have someone up front at all times so clients don’t walk out. My friend and I left an event ravaged, completely starving so when we popped into Porkchop we planned to engorge ourselves on many starter items. We tried the: Mac & Cheese $ 8 — Elbow mac & cheese in cheddar sauce. Decent but I can’t put it in my top tiers of gooey noodles, sadly. Though it was doused in cheese sauce, I didn’t find it very flavorful. Trio of Sausage Lollipops $ 9 — Deep fried sausage on sticks with a spicy remoulade for dipping. Great item and we liked them but we both agreed we weren’t sure we $ 9 liked them. BBQ Pork Sliders $ 10 — Another starter that was just okay. A slider is a slider but usually BBQ pork sliders are one of the foods I love most in life! These were aiight but I wouldn’t get them again on my next visit. I got beer too… because…it was dinner and dinner means beer! They had a pretty good craft beer list so that put a smile on my face. We were both just left feeling slightly unfulfilled when we were leaving Porkchop. Sure our bellies were satiated but something was just missing. Porkchop is good for a meal in a pinch but with so many other viable options nearby, I’d give this one a skip!

I kinda stumbled pass this restaurant while walking too waste some time; although after ordering I realized I had seen this place numerous times because of the different events I go too in the area. I was actually about an hour early for one that was just down the street and thought I will get me a soda sip on it until it is time for me check-in. Well, while I was checking out the menu I saw Elotes which is corn in spanish but it was roasted, sprinkled with cheese and don’t quote me on this a spicy type sauce or mayo. I’m going to tell you where my mind went when I saw they had this corn and even though it is $ 3 dollars more than what I would normally pay and that doesn’t include tax and tip… My frugal mind could see the lady on the corner pulling the corn out of the cooler… slathering it with mayo, that cajito cheese(which I’m probably spelling wrong), parkay and cayenne pepper… oh yes just as I was sitting there I could taste it, smell it and enjoy the complex but simple flavors on my tongue… but oh no I got a snazzed up version of a simple reciepe that didn’t need to be changed or turned hip. I looked at my Hipster version of Mexican corn and thought… I should have gotten the fries it was $ 2 dollars cheaper and maybe more appetizing. I was disappointed with the one dab of mayo on each cut up piece of corn… I couldn’t even get the cheese to stick to the corn… I kept thinking what a waste of time and money. Next time I’m keeping it in the hood so I can get it how it should be for a lot less money! They may serve some other great food choices, but I can’t speak on the other food items because I just had the Elotes. The waitress was nice and I maybe back just not for the corn but as always… Enjoy!!!
