I’ve walked past this place a million times and have been wanting to go in. Finally went in last week and had a blast. It’s hard to see what it truly looks like inside from the outside, but very cool space. Love the boards displaying beer options. The bartenders were helpful with recs and quick. I got the IPA special for $ 4, which was a steal IMO. Free popcorn, winner! We ordered the tater tot pizza and the Cuban Reuben. Both were so good and I wanted more! If you think tater tot pizza sounds weird, don’t. If you like tots and like pizza, then just do it. The sour cream on the side was a nice add. There is live music there all the time but we left before they came on. Great bar in Logan!

I like Quenchers a lot. Chill spot when there is no live music. Awesome craft beer selection as well as beer from around the world. $ 10 for five 4 ounce pours Saturday afternoons. Josh the bartender is a cool dude and very knowledgeable about beer.

Quenchers has an awesome selection of beers from around the world, including countries you’d least expect– like Guatemala. Host to myriad events from punk shows by bands you’ve never heard of to the Saturday«Flight Club» from noon to 6pm, Quenchers is primely poised to tickle your funny bone with eclectic décor, entertaining events, a wide variety of beers and spirits, as well as free popcorn. How can you go wrong?

You know, I’ve never actually eaten here! At least aside from the free popcorn. However. I will say, they have an absolutely fantastic choice of beers. But since I can’t drink beer anymore, I can also say they have a nice collection of ciders too. WIN! Plus if you come here on an evening where there’s live music and you’re feeling cheap, you can usually hear pretty well just hanging out in the bar area. Cool bartenders too. I dig.

I remember when this place opened on a cold, rainy night in 1979, and we Logan Square Neighborhood Association people(I was very young, and on staff) came to the opening party, incredulous that what we saw as a «Lincoln Park» type bar would open at the corner of Western and Fullerton. All these years later it still has style, but it seems we needn’t have worried – it isn’t an old man’s bar, but it’s not pretentious either. Mellow Yellow in Hyde Park had a similar reception when it opened a few years earlier. Hyde Parkers sniffed at the idea of a «fern bar» opening in our resolutely un-effete ‘hood. And that one too is still going, and is now at the less-pretentious end of the local continuum.

Divey, but impressive beer selection– interesting and unique bottles and drafts with excellent weekly deals. They have a great patio and tasty free popcorn which is awesome. Quencher always seems to have a live band playing– very loudly– so it’s only possible to carry on a conversation on the patio. Overall not a bad spot to sit on a patio and sip a new brew.

Not a huge fan of the space itself, but the beer selection is great.

Food was awesome. Over 300 beers!!! Cash only though. But there is bar space, live music every day, specials every day, and a patio space. Cool atmosphere.

I go here sometimes to watch shows, eat popcorn with hot sauce, and kiss people I love on the cheek. I also play shows here sometimes and it’s always a pleasure(seriously, not one bad turnout for a show yet). The photo booth is choice and get the loaded tater tots if you want to see Jesus. Much love to the staff also, they are a great group of people. I love this place because there’s no bullshit with this bar and it has become a second home. Edgin/Gonzalez for President and Vice President. *drops mic*

My rating is for the beer selection. There are about two dozen draft options and 100+ of international and domestic bottles. I just didn’t care for atmosphere and couldn’t find myself settling in there for more than one beer.

I came to Quenchers for a show my cousin was playing and I was pleasently surprised by a few things: a truly developed beer selection — I am a beer nazi(self-admitted) and if I can afford it, only drink imports(mostly european) and the import selection here is phenomenal. The Belgian and German options were vast and wonderful without costing an arm and a leg. Sound quality — other than the crappy house bass head, the sound was great for the three bands I saw here. Room is a typical rectangular smallish bar venue, but pretty good as far as those go(compare this to a half sized version of the beat kitchen in many ways). Overall, I had a tremendous experience here once I coped with the cash only situation(they have an ATM, $ 2.25 surcharge). I will add this to my list of places to go drink in Logan.

Quencher’s is the perfect place to enjoy a craft beer and a solid local show. They have a wide selection of beers for you to choose from and have them written on a chalkboard above the bar. The bar area is nice and covers more area the most places. They also have plenty of tables for you to sit at outside of the bar area. Added perks: They have a photo booth, free popcorn and there is always a cooler with water if you are feeling parched. The area with the stage is awesome. Plenty of standing space as well as a decent amount of stools and tables for the few of you who wanna lounge while watching some live music. It is decorated with old beer taps and has appropriate lighting that doesn’t distract you from the bands. I love coming here and look forward to doing so again in the near future.

My new favorite bar in Chicago. Their beer selection just blew my mind! Of the ones I’ve tried so far, the Cuvée Des Jacobins Rouge is beyond amazing. One of the best beers I’ve ever had! And live music practically every night! Plus there’s free popcorn. How could anyone not love this place?

Quick review: Beer selection = awesome. Stage for bands = good, small. Sound from bands = pretty solid. Deftness and ability of bartender(s)(?) = Wretched; awful; disaster. Go and enjoy a show, have a great beer. Just expect to wait for it.

Quencher’s. Silly name, serious beer! This should be their slogan. Before gastropubs were all the craze in the city, small places like Quencher’s were the only place to get unique brews. Do you like Blatz? No! Well it’s only a buck here. Do you like Genesee Cream Ale? No! Well that too is only a buck. How about Bell’s Consecrator DoppleBock, Allagash Red Howes, Arcadia B-Craft Black Double IPA and/or New Holland Pilgrim’s Dole Wheatwine? Hey, do these sound good? They ought to because they are delicious and at Quencher’s. The bartenders are great here too. They’ll strike up a conversation as they’re popping up a fresh batch of popcorn in their popcorn cart while pouring you up an awesome ale! The bartenders keep the beer flowing while quenching your thirst. Hence why this place isn’t called Dry Mouth’s, yeah it’s called Quencher’s. I have yet to try the food here, but the specials always look great! Maybe next time I am in. Quencher’s. Silly name, serious beer!

I went to see my friend’s band play here last weekend and had a great time! They have a few tables in the band area and I was able to snag a seat at one of said tables. Apparently they have bands playing there all the time and usually cover to get in is $ 5. Not bad for a Saturday night out! I was really surprised that they had a food menu that they serve deep into the night. Their new Apple & Gouda Chicken Sausage with Mango Salsa & Naan sounds really good! I need to try that next time I’m in. My friend and I got a half order of tater tots for just $ 3. They were really good and the price was just right for the portion size. I want to try their much raved about tater tot pizza when I’m in next, too! I’m going to have to go in with an empty stomach based on all my ‘need to tries’. They have a pretty good beer list with pricing that ain’t half bad. Honestly a great draft list which is nothing to scoff at. The bartenders were all quick getting orders in which was great so I could get back in to see the bands!

It’s so funny that just six years ago, I was a light girl. Miller lite, stella, corona light, crap-light, you name it. Beer is like coffee: the more you drink it the more hard core you become. You need darker, stronger, more expensive and hipper beer as you develop your palette. I suppose my taste in men grew in that direction too… As the burgeoning little beer drinker I’ve become, Quenchers is so fun. So many things to taste and a fun menu to read. I love just looking at the bottle labels! They have some berry cool berry ciders I’ve never seen anywhere else. It’s super divey, but the vast beer selection gives it a more upper scale feel. I’ve also sung here a couple times, and their sound system is surprisingly nice.

Came here for a show my friend was performing in.(the band name is strangers) There was a $ 5 cover which isn’t too bad especially since there were 3 other bands playing that night as well so it was only $ 1.25 a band. I didn’t get any drinks since I was just there for the one show but they did have a cooler of self service water which was awesome since I always feel bad wasting the bar tenders time on a busy night asking for water.

Want to know which country your beer is coming from? Head to Quencher’s & gaze upon their chalk-board beer menu, complete with flags of the countries next to each beer! I’m always a sucker for a bar with a great beer selection. This little corner gem has not only a good beer selection, but a great one!(Check out the menu I referenced in one of the photos on this Unilocal page to give you an idea.) Place is somewhat divey, which I don’t normally like, but this place felt somewhat comfy to me. I like the side room with the stage. I have only been here once to see a couple bands, but I would definitely return. They also have an outdoor patio. When I went, it was a bit cold, and people were just using the patio to smoke, but I assume you can eat out there when it’s nice out. Thing I wasn’t crazy about was the traffic & capacity of people. Very difficult to maneuver around, especially holding a beer or two. I suggest taking a few gulps of your drink before you attempt to walk around on a busy night; spillage is almost guaranteed. Also lost my hat that night & looked all over, so either someone picked it up & stole it, or an employee threw it out(hope not.) Can’t remember if there was a cover charge, but it was probably $ 5 – 7 at most and there were bands playing that night. I hope to return & try more of their vast beer selection & maybe see a couple good bands!

First off — — watch to get into the spirit Screw flying… travel the world of beer here! I had no clue that a place can even STOCK over 300 beers! I mean they have beers from EVERYWHERE… Lithuania, Kenya… THEPHILIPPINES?! There’s also a Über list of Craft beers from ALL over the U.S. too! I’m seriously gonna Pokemon this places selection — ‘Gotta Drink ‘Em All!‘ They’ve got: Beer, Bier, Bira, Garejure, Pear Zao, Zýthos, Cerveza, Biiru, Byè, Birra, Serbesa, Pivo, Madhubaanam and much more! Spy it: Tots… I like ‘em. Full basket — $ 6.00 and when they say full basket, they mean it. I can eat me some tater tots and all that, but damn… I had to share these to even put a dent in. Live Music — it’s in the side room, small stage, room gets crowded, acoustics — meh it’s a bar. The vibe of the place is cool though. Bathrooms — Clean-ish, gotta go through the side room which is fine unless there’s a big crowd for the band. Oh — helpful tip for the men’s room: You don’t need to push the soap dispenser very hard… if you do you’re getting soap bukakke’d(ya, I said it). Only qualm I had with this place are the tiny little round hi-top tables with 3 chairs around ‘em, hell the table barely holds a basket of tots and a couple bottles of beer… it’s whatevs though. Beers drink fast here, you’ll make due… I did. Can’t wait to come back and try some more worldly brews.
