Really good food — some nice options here. A nice break from typical Mexican restaurants in the area.

Never had a Torta on rock hard French bread and quesadillas with super think tortillas. The meat was so chewy and stringy. We spend $ 75 on our delivery and not one of us finished our food. We are so disappointed. Never again.

Came here because of Unilocal reviewsThe food was excellent and Rego made excellent Margaritas with the Tequila and Triple Sec we brought. EXCELLENT experience and will DEFINITELY be back.

I can not rave about this place enough! I came across it on Unilocal looking for a spot to get dinner in my area. The inside is super cute, very clean, and open kitchen. Everything tasted so fresh and well thought out. You can tell the owners care and have a passion for their restaurant. I got the carne asada tacos, rice and beans. Mouthwatering. The horchata is amazing too and comes in a huge goblet/glass. While yes it might be more expensive than other Mexican restaurants in the area, it is completely worth it. I want to try everything on the menu and wish I could eat here every day! Definitely give this place a try if you want to be blown away.

Very good. The tilapia tacos were great. Guacamole made just right. The horchata comes in a huge glass. Definitely recommend this place.

This is our go-to Mexican delivery place. We get the burritos usually(steak and barbacoa are both great). And the tacos al pastor are phenomenal. I tried them once after reading a fellow Unilocaler’s review and now I make sure to get a couple every time we order! Satisfying, hearty food at a great price! Minus a star only because once they delivered the tacos without the usual toppings of cilantro and onion.

I was here for dinner, and not only was the server attentive, the food was great too! We ordered three different tacos and the guacamole. Definitely the best guac I’ve had since I’ve moved from the wear coast. Tacos were great too. Succulent and spiced perfectly with their custom sauces. Highly recommended!

Ok… felt a little guilty passing up Clark St. for this visit. A relatively wide variety of tacos available here of which we ordered six: arrachera, cochinita pibil, barbacoa, al pastor, cecina, and pescado. Each taco was dressed to match it’s primary ingredient. Two salsas were brought out with the tacos(different from the one that came with the complimentary chips). Great flavors in each, and priced still to match your everyday taqueria.(we had made a decision between Mogote and another popular new suburban $ 3-$ 4/taco joint). They offer a variety of aqua frescas but we went with the cucumber lemonade. And just to get us started we had their two tamale appetizer. A funny thing with the tamale — not sure if it was intentional — I got a part that was crisped up. One might think that it was a mistake since tamales should be soft, but it was a crunchy tasty mistake. Browsing the photos here — do note that they have weekend brunch menu too. Will need to try that and their plate entrées. TVs at both ends of the restaurant provide captioned entertainment.

I enjoyed the flavors of the three tacos I tried, the al pastor, cochinita, and tilapia. Wife didn’t like the chicken taco too much but thought the steak was ok. Would try again but not necessarily go out of my way. $ 14 for 5 tacos was reasonable.

I’ve been going to El Mogote for years and I can still say that they’ve really good tacos. My family typically gets the steak tacos and it’s great every time we order. It’s a bit pricey compared to other taco places, but it’s well worth it. They also have good burritos. Every time I go there, I get great service and the food does not take long at all. I recommend everyone to go to this place. Really great food and it’s BYOB.

Easily best tacos in Albany Park, maybe this part of the North Side, that I know of.

AMAZING service. Our waiter was patient and gave excellent service. The tacos here are one of the best tacos we’ve had. The horchata wasn’t too sweet, it was just right. The quesadilla was great. Everything came out nice and fresh. Even the fries were crispy and fresh! Have nothing to complain about this place. Cute little restaurant & I will be coming here more often.

Very glad I finally found El Mogote, super good every time I’ve eaten there. Cochinita pibil was really good and the cool lemonade drinks are worth checking out as well. Solid even when ordered through Grub Hub. Super friendly Staff. Definitely recommended!

Yum! Great tacos and guacamole, reasonably priced, fast service and delicious! The restaurant has seating for about 50. A nice place to have lunch or dinner. Street parking.

Full disclosure: when hubby suggests Mexican carryout for dinner my stomach feels sad. This is because a.) I’m picky about which Mexican dishes I really *love* to eat and b.) Mexican food doesn’t always travel well. My defenses were lowered tonight though, so when he suggested El Mogote I actually entertained the idea and hopped on Unilocal to take a gander at some food porn pics. Fellow Unilocalers had me at «cochinita pibil»… My oh my, it was what dreams are made of. Perfect in every way, comparable to what I’ve eaten in Mexico. My only regret is that I didn’t order more. Hubby got a torta and taco, both of which he really enjoyed, and we shared a side of rice and corn. The rice was unfortunately bland, but greatly helped with some of their delicious green salsa. The corn was also very tasty, but pretty hot, even for my iron stomach. Glutton for punishment I am I’d probably order again, but add some crema or cheese to cool it down. All in all this was an excellent meal and I can’t wait to try again. Mexican takeout? Yes, please!

Incredible food and service! We came in for a late dinner on a Wednesday and tried each of the tacos on the menu. They were all SO delicious, with different spices and salsas, and we could taste some amazing marinades happening on several of the meats. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu! Atmosphere: a lovely modern, minimalist space; clean and simple décor makes the little shop feel spacious. The lady serving the entire place during our visit was gracious, attentive, and friendly. Don’t miss this delicious little neighborhood treasure! And don’t forget to bring your own tequila if you’d like them to mix you a margarita :)

The server mixed some truly outstanding margaritas. The service was great as well. Very highly recommended. Try: Cochinita pibil Anything barbacoa The house-made tortillas Enchiladas in mole(get a mix of the Poblano and the green)

Are you tired of waiting in line at other nearby brunch spots(thinking Tre Kronor or Bryn Mawr Breakfast Club)? I have the answer for you. Restaurante El Mogote has been an Albany Park staple for years, but they have recently remodeled and are now offer an absolutely amazing brunch. We took my Mother-in-Law in for brunch today(Mother’s Day) and had Passion Fruit & Strawberry Bellinis(BYOB), delicious coffee, Huevos Caprienos, and Domingo Por La Mañana(x2). It’s a small spot and is expertly run by Rigo and his mom and a small staff. If it’s busy you may have to wait longer for your food, but it’s definitely worth checking out for brunch or dinner.

So good. Tamales d.f., mole enchiladas, and all the tacos are delicious. Best Mexico City style food I’ve had in the area.

This place has been remodeled and the menu has been revamped, and the food here is suddenly delicious. The carne asada here is fantastic, and, I promise, you will not finding a better tasting chicken quesidilla anywhere. In fact, the quesidilla was so good I went back the next day, just to tell them just how phenomenal I thought it was. The tortilla used, is made in house, and has a bit of a sweeter flavor to it. Instead of slices or chunks of chicken, the quesidilla is filled with shredded and marinated chicken, and it’s taste just can’t be topped.
