The thin, crisp crust is great. The sauce is slightly bland. This is the best option we’ve found in the neighborhood for a late night pizza fix.

This place has great pizza, but almost every time I call they say they’re not delivering because they don’t have a driver. I’m not sure why they’re so consistently making the choice to miss out on a lot of business. I’ve even called on Friday nights before(prime pizza ordering night, no??) and they’ve said they’re not delivering. On the off shot that they do deliver, the pizza is awesome and the delivery guys are always super friendly. I’d love this place if they actually just offered the service they’re supposed to provide!

Amazing pizza, terrible and loud music. The whole pie is definitely better than by the slice. The service is pretty quick., if you can tolerate heavy metal with the family, I’d recommend dining in.

I really like the location that it’s in and I always conveniently make it during happy hour, which is nice. The pizza is pretty good and I love the choice of music that they decide to play. Will probably go again.

I rarely give 1 star reviews, but as I’m currently battling a very difficult day of food poisoning, I would highly suggest you do not try this place. I should have been suspicious when the toppings i customized for my slice of pizza were cold, and the the slice itself was only lukewarm even though the bottom was burnt. Bucktown/Wicker Park have tons of great restaurants that won’t make you ill, I would avoid this place at all costs. Also, the slices came out really slowly.

This place is just no good. The employee was super friendly, and the service was fast, so there’s my two stars. Went in to get slices to go. One cheese(three cheese? It was a Friday special) and one sausage. The slices are large(a good size for the $ 4) but they were burnt on the bottom, and the cheese and sauce was nothing special.

I have been in love with Santullo’s ever since their pizza passed my lips. So greasy. So delicious. They have NYC style pizza, nice and then and floppy. Somehow, a little crispy too. The best of all worlds, really. Their slices are cheap and huge. I’ve ordered carry out, which gave me the chance to customize my selection. The four cheese pizza is a favorite. They are open late, and have the usual surly hipster cashiers. That’s ok, for pizza this good, I can deal with some attitudes. Beware– the later you go heightens the chance of running into the after bar crowd. The place can be loud and kinda gross, but again, I’m willing to risk it for the pizza.

I used to really enjoy this place and their pizza slices. But today it seems they have rested on their laurels. The cheese was skimpy and overcooked. The crust was still enjoyable but there was precious little sauce or flavor for that matter. A disappointing decline in quality from just 18 mos ago.. Go to Luigi’s on Clark if you’re looking for an authentic New York pizza experience.

I normally don’t write negative reviews, but this place deserves one. I went to this place out of convenience. let’s just say I’m never coming back! The pizza is mediocre at best,(yes, they’re huge. but do you want to eat a huge piece of crap? No) the toppings that they throw on the pizza look pitiful. Also, the crust is super dry. However, the most annoying thing about this place is the RUDECUSTOMERSERVICE that exudes from the employees. The girl with the colored hair is master of the eye roll and seems too cool to take your order. The crappy attitude from the employees overshadows their mediocre pizza. With Piece not so far away, I’d say take your business elsewhere.

I’m from New York. Born in Brooklyn. I know New York pizza. This is not New York pizza. Let’s start with the most telling sign of this fact — pies aren’t ready to go. Here’s the deal, a New York pizza experience, means I should be able to walk in, see a bunch of pies, choose a slice I want, from that pie and in 2 minutes, after it’s been warned up in the oven, be on my way. Instead, the experience we got, was walking in, ordering a single slice, waiting 20 minutes as they made a whole pie. Crazy. At $ 4.00 a cheese slice it’s say over priced. Service was meh. It was like we were bothering them. With Piece pizza a few doors down and Dimo’s up the street, I think you can do better. The pizza itself was fine. Good flavor, but a bad ratio of crust thickness to cheese and topping. The crust is too thin, negating your ability to fold it and walk, without it spilling all over you.

**DISCLAIMER** This review represents one interaction with Santullo’s and nothing further. My wife and I ordered a pepperoni pizza this past Saturday. It was amazing, here is the five star pizza experience… Struggling to decide what to eat, we settled on ordering in a pizza. We looked up the closest thin crust to us and given a few options started deciding. We settled on Santullo’s and started our order. What sizes do you guys have for thin crust? We only have ONE size. Twenty inch. Yeah, that’ll work. We ordered a pepperoni and was told it would be thirty minutes for delivery. The pizza showed up twenty minutes later, delivered by a really nice guy, and life was good. Then we actually started eating the pizza, that is when life got great. Fantastic flavor, great sauce, fresh pepperoni, and beautiful crust. I will happily order another pie from these guys again!

Was there to grab a salad and beers before to go our in Wicker Park, and it was a huge disappointment. The waiter didn’t took our order properly. I ordered a Spinach salad, they served a Caesar salad. At least they called it «Caesar salad»… The plate only contained Romaine lettuce and a few croutons. What happened to the Parmesan? The egg? Honestly, that wasn’t a Caesar salad, and it wasn’t worth $ 6.50!

I’ve stopped in Santullo’s for a quick bite and ordered delivery. For about $ 4, you get a pretty big slice of NY style pizza. You order a pizza(one size) and it’s about $ 30. My complaint is service — it is never really very good whether I’ve been in-person or getting delivery. Placing an order by phone can also be frustrating and I’ve been put on a long hold numerous times. I’ve also had delivery take longer than promised. That being said, the pizza itself I like. It is NY style with a thin crust. I like the pizza’s crust is slightly crispy but still chewy and soft. There is a nice balance between the sauce and the cheese. I know pizza isn’t health food but it is sometimes a bit too greasy(perhaps that is to be desired at 1am).

I prefer Chicago-style pizza over NY-style pizza and I hate metal music… nonetheless, I would come back here for a slice any time. They’re open for lunch! Great prices, free refills, excellent people watching… would be awesome as an after-bar stop off for sure. Just easy going, fast, and delicious. Some times there’s nothing better than eating off of a paper plate. I like the pineapple pizza which they do well.

Santullo’s is a New York pizza-styled eatery smack in the middle of Wicker Park. It’s a perfect place if you need a quick lunch or you need some substance to guide you through what could be a late night. The pizza is pretty good and was out real quick. I did have some issues when I first walked in and wanting to place my order, but I think it was more of catching the staff at a bad time and definitely not a normal thing. Once I was acknowledged the staff were quick to help.

Had the strangest time here today. Came by during work for a quick lunch, and the place was completely empty save for maybe one other customer and two City of Chicago inspectors. Right after my co-workers and I placed our orders, the inspectors shut down the restaurant. It seemed to be only for a few hours or the rest of the day, and I’m not sure if it was because of the building or the kitchen/food. We decided to eat our pizza anyway. I had ordered the Italian Stallion slice, which was supposed to have capicolla, genoa salami, mortadella with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, herb mayo and italian dressing. The pizza I got was all cheese with just a few splotches of pesto on top. I asked the person behind the counter if there was supposed to be meat on my slice. He answered, «It’s under the cheese.» I 100% promise there was no meat on my pizza. I wish I had a picture to prove it. Definitely won’t be coming back here. Will go to Piece down the street instead.

Yeah ok, it’s a giant slice of pizza. And it’s pretty good. It’s a pretty good giant slice of pizza. Did I thoroughly enjoy it? Yes! Would I come back? Probably not? It’s hard to articulate why something is both really enjoyable and really mediocre.

Santullo’s has always been a «wonk, wonk, wonk» slice to me. It’s food to stuff my pie-hole with, to help satiate a quick hunger or help me back to sobriety after drinks in the area.(Although, if someone said let’s grab a cab for a slice elsewhere, I’d most likely go elsewhere. I like Chicago style and don’t mind the calories.) A decent NY style slice though it’s not, is it? I mean NY slices are enormous and oily right? These are hand tossed pie slices with a cut like an NY slice. Flavors are alright, it’s better than any fast food pizza joint and they have BEER!

On the recommendation of some friends, we headed to Piece Brewery and Pizzeria, only to find it packed to the gills. Still hankering for pizza and beer, we continued west on North Ave, and were delighted to find what looked to be another option. Oh, how wrong we were. The child at the cash register screwed up as many orders than he got right. Really, I watched him make a total mess of the order of the guy in front of me in line, only to witness him make an entirely new series of mistakes when it came to my order. You’ve got to hand it to him for creativity and consistency, but unfortunately, not for much else. The beer selection was pitiful. They had four taps, but two were out — and none of the offerings was very exciting to begin with. And mind you, this was a Saturday night at about 8pm. If you run out of half of your beer selection and both of your ‘Pizzas of the Day’ by 8pm on a not-very-crowded Saturday night, you’re doing something wrong. And then, the pizza itself really wasn’t very good. The crust was doughy and boring — lacking life as well as taste. In another city, this pizza might do. But in Chicago, you’re right to have higher standards. No wonder this place was empty when Piece had a line out the door!

Bleh. This is the last time I take advice overheard from a drunk guy at a liquor store. Pizza was mediocre, crust was like cardboard, service sucked(a total of 4 mistakes in our order). At least there was a moderate amount of entertainment from the dough tossing guy. He’s really talented.
