Yum! Soups in the loop is delicious. I had the chicken and wild rice soup(favorite) as well as the chicken tortellini soup. Both were great, portions were filling(came with your choice of bread, highly recommend the ciabatta), and prices were definitely reasonable — unlike a few other food trucks around town. I got the pork slider as a «side» and found that I didn’t actually need that much more food, and that I was also kind of disappointed in the slider… Taste was a little weird. I didn’t finish that. Will be back for soups, though!

Real hot guy serving even hotter soup. Win. Love this truck regardless of whether it’s 9 degrees or 90. I love the chicken wild rice and the lobster bisque. The portions are generous and they’ll toss you a extra roll if you ask, and they never forget to give you a napkin and soup. Chase this truck down and make sure to grab a punch card so you can start getting free soup!

Its actually rated for 3.5… Decent truck for soup, though this one seems to be at 600 West Chicago Avenue, the parking lot across from it, almost daily. My choices are: chicken wild rice, lobster bisque, and another that escapes me for the moment. An odd bit of something — I’ve seen this truck in Rosemont, IL, and they seem to be a part of or associated with Café La Cave… hmm… I don’t get anything else, and I usually choose the focaccia bread as its decent to me. This is a good, decent, and reliable, in case if the other places near 600 West Chicago Ave doesn’t satiate me. Or if that darned Capone’s truck doesn’t stuff me with too much pasta with vodka sauce or deep dish, both which are not too bad, BTW, just there too often, like SITL. :-D

So this is branded as a soup truck, but for those who don’t want to eat just soup for lunch you can get salads and one of two«sliders» to accompany it too. And while chicken-vegetable-tortellini soup was perfectly nice, the sides might actually have been the better part of the meal. The Caesar salad had a tangy dressing with real anchovies that didn’t seem to have come from a bottle; and I’m a sucker for nearly any buffalo-chicken themed item, and«buffalo chicken salad slider» is not an exception. This ranks in the category of «I would go back.»

I love their concept. Homemade style soups. I had vegetable soup and could taste the quality. Nice size serving. It was served w/piece of focaccia too. Price point of $ 6 is just right.

This is for their kiosk in the French Market. It was fantastic! I ordered the Apple Pie grilled cheese and it was literally perfect. It had thin-sliced granny smith apples, brown sugar, cheddar cheese, and bacon. Both texture and taste-wise, it worked so well. It was definitely hearty, but wasn’t overwhelming like some«adult» grilled cheeses are. Their vegetable soup is good too. It’s packed with vegetables(mostly carrots, broccoli, celery… though you can add more stuff at the counter). The broth is well-seasoned, spicy/peppery if you’re into that. It’s broth based, so not overly filling but good if you’re looking for something light.

This was the first time I’ve seen a food truck on Fulton St. I had the lobster bisque it was very nice, not too thick and it had some nice size chunks of lobster. I also tried the BBQ pork slider, also yummy. One of my warehouse guys had the potato & bacon soup and raved about it all morning. I hope they come back this way often.

I’ve been a huge fan of Soups in the Loop for a long time. The Chicken and Wild Rice is hands down the best out. Whether its cold or hot outside they always have something amazing. The sliders are also a clutch«side» if you could call them that, portions are huge. Anytime they are near my building for lunch(and sometimes even when they aren’t) I’m heading their way. Great service and great food! Definitely the best food truck I’ve eaten at in the city.

We asked Soups in the Loop to come to our office in Oak Brook for an event we were having. On one of the coldest days we’ve had in November and believe me it was worth losing all feeling in my hands and feet waiting outside for my lunch. The portions are very generous and the quality is excellent. I had their wild rice chicken soup — delicious! And their buffalo chicken salad slider is amazing.

I love when I look outside and see Soups In the Loop parked across the street! They have fantastic soups, and the prices are so reasonable. I always get a side salad with my soup, which is consistently fresh and tasty. I love their homemade dressing, too.

The Lobster Bisque. I tell you this, you will be stunned. You can’t eat this soup standing up, your knees buckle. Edit: best bang-for-the-buck lunch in the Loop. For $ 10 you get soup, salad, slider, bread… and the soup alone will fill you up.

My coworker first told me about this food truck that arrives at our building once a week. My favorite soup would have to be the lobster bisque. It is really creamy and has chunks of lobster in it. Their lemon lentil is my second favorite. It is very aromatic and really served as a pick-me-up when I was feeling a bit under the weather. If you are hungrier, get the soup and their«sliders.» You have an instant feast!

$ 6 for a bowl(not cup) of soup, a roll(white, wheat, or focaccia), and peanut butter truffle is a good combination of satisfying, nutritious, and decadent. Uchicago campus loves them; there’s always a line. Delicious soup(always with vegan & gluten free options) served by 2 cute/nice guys, what’s not to love?

I wanted to hate the food here so bad because of the awful experience I had at the truck, but damn. WHY? Why was your food so GD good??? SERVICE — Not really their fault, but still worth a mention so they can improve. Credit card machine not working. The customer in front of me already had trouble with his credit card which prolonged my wait. Then it was my turn HOPING the credit card machine gods were with me. NOPE. FIXTHIS! People do not carry cash on them anymore. Then as I was waiting for my food for a good 5 – 10 minutes, i saw the guy(who was struggling with that customer’s credit card) hand her a bag of food. Um. Seriously? How did that happen? Where the F is MY food? It took him another 2 full minutes to realize he had handed the food to the wrong customer. Are you serious? What if he didn’t catch this? That would have been worse than stepping on dog poop for me. Most close to falling face first on top of fresh wet runny dog poop. but enough of that. FOOD — My initial plan was to try the Chicken Pot Pit soup since I’ve been craving pot pie for quite some time now. But when I arrived in front of the truck, I saw that they offered a Soup Flight option. BINGO! I had to. you must too. I went with: Chicken Pot Pit(obviously) Broccoli Cheddar Lobster Bisque Then I knew I couldn’t just eat soup as a lunch so i decided to add the Buffalo Chicken Salad Slider. But then I saw Oreo balls and remember reading about these. I had to. Thinking my order was going to be well over $ 20. Nope. My total came to $ 13. Still steep considering all I got was soup, a small slider sandwich and a chocolate dessert ball. But when I got back to my office and started unpacking my bag, it was like Xmas in April. The sizes of each soup in the flight were no joke. I am serious when I say, I didn’t even get to 2 of the 3 soups from the flight. I finished the bisque(which was ah-mah-zing!) and then had the slider topped off with the oreo ball. I was STUFFED! My order easily could have fed 2 – 3 people. Maybe it’s just me, but seriously, how much soup can one person really eat in one sitting. it’s soup. Overall the food was exceptional. The slider was a good twist to the traditional chicken salad. The oreo ball was out of this world. I think I overheard the girl in front of me showing off to her friends with her knowledge of the ingredients that went into these oreo balls. I definitely recommend this as one of the better food trucks in Chicago today. The food was so amazing, I forgot what I was mad at them for. If it wasn’t for the mishap with the credit card machine and the thing where you gave away my food, this place would have gotten that extra star from me.

Soup is the perfect meal. It is easy to eat, can be hearty depending on the type you eat and pairs very well with a piece of bread. I’m a bit thrilled that it is getting colder outside simply because I can eat more soup. I was thrilled to find this truck since I was getting tired of the soup menus from restaurants in the area — it is not that they aren’t good, but I wanted something different. For $ 6, you get a pretty big bowl of soup(that can be a full meal) and your choice of bread. They also have sides for $ 2. I haven’t tried them yet, but they look good. I sampled the mushroom bisque, which was good, but a bit garlicky for my taste. I recently had the chicken and wild rice, which I enjoyed very much. It could have been a bit creamer, but overall, it was good. I just happen to prefer creamy soups. The guys on the truck are friendly and willing to help you make a decision if you can’t decide between the soups. They carry about 6 different soups — they have their staples, but also have some seasonal ones. Also, if you are a frequent visitor to the truck, they have a loyalty card where you can get one soup free when you buy 10. I look forward to sampling the rest of their menu!

For lunch there isn’t a ton of options in my building. I need variety to keep me sane during the long week. Not to mention a healthy/light alternative to traditional sandwiches everyday. When it comes to «Soups in the Loop», they always have at least 4 or 5 delicious soups to choose from. Most places you go to fries or chips are your only side options. You can’t beat a side salad for just an additional $ 2. Make sure to ask for the raspberry vingarette. The only negative part is that the truck only comes by my work once a week! Personally I am pushing for a store front, so I can get soup everyday. Whose with me?! What it comes down to is, «Let’s get Soupy!»

Perfect meal for a rainy and chilly end of May. Categorically: Location: 4 out of 5 This applies to Dearborn and Monroe only. I think that SiL along with a few others follow a loose schedule of showing up at Chase tower on Thursdays. More selection for me, I guess. It’s a 4 minute walk from my building, so no complaints. Customer service: 4 out of 5 Both of the guys working the truck were real friendly and amicable, taking a little time to talk to me about the soups/stews they make. Bonus points for doing transactions on a tablet device via portable credit card swiper. Selection: 4 out of 5(for soups) Not sure if this is completely accurate, but I saw some chicken wild rice, a vegetarian soup, and the one I chose — the lobster bisque. They have a limited selection of side items like a caesar salad and buffalo chicken sliders as well. Price: 3 out of 5 Commensurate with other trucks in the area for what you get. All soups with a side of bread are 6 bucks. The buffalo chicken sliders are 2 bucks. In other words, you can eat fairly well for 8 bucks, and probably be satisfied at 6 bucks. Quality: 4 out of 5 Lobster bisque had discrete chunks of lobster(don’t confuse this term with«discreet»), which was nice. As other reviewers have alluded to, I personally would have preferred a creamier or thicker base for the actual bisque. I won’t say that the bisque was«runny» like broth, but perhaps some cream or another agent to provide more mouth feel would be in order here. I think it’s too much to expect them to add some calvados, but if you happen to have some at your office(not sure why you would…) it would be an excellent attention. Buffalo chicken salad slider was probably not worth a 2 full dollars, but it was nice to try. Nothing about it stood out like, «OH man, I’m really going to get this again!» but if they catered a party and this was one of the passed appetizers, I would have nothing to complain about. Overall: 4 out of 5 Given the fact that these guys often share the general vicinity with King Schnitzel, I can’t physically or monetarily support them every week. But it wouldn’t be out of the question to visit them once ever 3 or 4 weeks throughout the food truck season.

I was so excited to try this truck, especially since they had lobster bisque on the menu! Their version is a little disappointing, though. I liked the chunks of lobster in there but the soup wasn’t creamy. Maybe that’s just what I’m used to but I love creamy lobster bisque! I think next time I’ll go with the lemon chicken and rice. The size is pretty good for the price($ 6) and the guys are really nice! No one wants to be greeted by a grumpy food truck driver!

I’m writing this review as I’m slurping soup from my very own soup buffet, courtesy of Soups in the Loop. I love soup; it’s the perfect lunch or light dinner. I especially love soup when it’s chilly outside. To me, there’s nothing better than warming up with a steamy, hearty bowl of soul-satisfying soup. Yes, I’m aware it’s 52 degrees outside, but that qualifies as chilly to me. . I’d been hardcore stalking them on Facebook, waiting and praying for them to show up on Food Truck Row(aka outside Chase Plaza) and today was finally the day I got to try them. I even went there at 11:30, just to make sure they wouldn’t have run out of anything before I got there, and I never take my lunch that early. I approached the truck like it was the Second Coming and two friendly guys greeted me. One was named Chuggers(?) but I didn’t catch the other’s name. I mentioned I’d been waiting for them to be in my area and could barely contain my enthusiasm. Now…what to order… There’s a good number of choices; something for everyone, including vegans/vegetarians, and soups are priced at $ 6.00, and come with a choice of white or wheat roll, or focaccia bread. I think it’s a fair price for the portion size and the love that clearly went into making it. I ordered a potato leek, chicken with wild rice, and chicken tortilla. Yes, it may seem like a lot for just me; this was necessary in order to do proper research. I take my soup obsession seriously, folks. All of the soups were equally delicious, in their own way. The chicken tortilla had a little bit of a kick to it, and was full of shredded chicken. Delightful. The potato leek was rich and creamy and had chunks of potato, which gave it nice texture. The chicken with wild rice was the perfect consistency and didn’t skimp on the ingredients. They had many more soups available, including lobster bisque and vegan vegetable, and many more offerings are on the horizon. You can be sure I will try every single one. This is easily my favorite food truck. (And further evidence that I was dying to try this food truck: as I was mid-slurp, a friend called me to tell me that he was downtown and spied the truck and I should get there immediately. Yeah, I guess I must have really made it clear how badly I wanted this soup. I could only laugh as I told him that I was way ahead of him). My only suggestion: maybe offer two sizes for your delicious soup? I’d love to be able to get two kinds and actually finish them, or pair with a salad or half sandwich. Oh well, gotta run. Back to soup slurpin’…
