Another visit for a sausage sandwich this time. Very generous length of sausage on the bread. I loaded it down with giardinara and went to town. Very good. By the time I was done I was greasy and smelled like an italian sausage myself. Outstanding.

Just okay. Giardinera different not adding much to the sandwich and I didn’t think it was hot at all. Fries had taste as of the oil had been used for cooking other menu items.

Last minute party, We called on Tony’s, been there many times, got beef sandwiches as well beef by the lb. and the Homemade giardinera, so we pick up 10lb ohh my god, I don’t know what you do but it was beyond words, the gravy I thought at 1^st that it did not look like Most, well I tasted a spoonful, it is the best we have ever eaten, people were going ape shit over it, can not wait to have another party, see you guys then, PLEEEZZZZZ keep up the great work…

BEST Beef Italian I EVER HAD! Especially the Italian sausage! Its a chicago staple! Will come here when iam in town again!

I’ve been coming here since they opened. Everything on the menu is FANTASTIC!!! My favorite is the Corleone sandwich. I get mine dipped well & it really gives it that extra oomph. Can’t go wrong here. There chili is really good too. The large tamale boat is great in chilly weather. I usually phone ahead bcuz the place is small & always packed. Prices are reasonable with what you are paying for. Highly recommend. Satisfaction guaranteed from breakfast throughout the day.

Everything is amazing! You can’t go wrong with anything from their menu. Service is also great, which makes it even better!

I’ve been coming here for decades and either get a beef, hot dog or breaded steak. Today I had the double cheeseburger… OMG absolutely delicious for less than $ 5! I can’t believe I never had one before!!!

This has to be the best beef on the south side we have been going here for 30 years my husband was a mailman and ate there for lunch a couple days a week. There beef is tender the bread is fresh just n everything is awesome Tony the owner n his uncle John are the best

Great beef sandwiches. As well as breaded steak sandwiches. Great burgers and dogs. Fries and onion rings. My secret weapon is the Sicilian steak sandwich. A must try when in Chicago.

Just spent about $ 9.00 on a beef fries and drink… The pop was hot! Fries were cold and the beef was dry!!! I won’t be back nor do I recommend anyone going here!

I stopped in for dinner while staying at a nearby hotel. It’s small, fast paced and strictly takeout. I went with the King Size Italian Breaded Steak sandwich. The Italian bread, which was good but not remarkable, was packed with thin beef cutlets soaked in tomato sauce along with a few green pepper strips. Wow. It was outstanding and quite filling. All for just under $ 10. I’ll be back!

The homemade Italian beef is awesome and the homemade hot peppers are even better. There breakfast is something to behold as well. Great place !!

Every now and then you will find that hole in the wall that turns out to be a real gem, this is one of those places. It is literally a hole in the wall, you can only fit about ten guys in here standing up but the food is great, I have never gotten anything here I didn’t like and at reasionable prices. Service is good and staff are very courteous.

Speaking of a hole-​in-​the-​wall place, Tony’s Italian beef definitely is qualified for such description. The space of the entire dining is smaller than my living room! But the patrons didn’t seem to mind and enjoyed their meals regardless.
Other the typical «Chicago-​hotdog-​joint» varieties, they offer lots of menu items that you can see in an old-​fashioned American or Greek diner. In other words, there is something for almost everyone, unless you’re a strict vegan (then the Chicago-​style diet isn’t going to work out for you).
I had the Italian beef sandwich with mozarella, and hubby ordered the pepper & egg sandwich. I did like the beef very much. It was one of the renderest beef I’ve ever had. The entire sandwich had just the right amount of saturation; it was easy to consume.
My minor complaint I had was the amount of mozarella in the beef sandwich. It was on a skimpy side. I barely detected the presence of the cheese until I got to my last bites.
Hubby’s pepper & egg sandwich, on the other hand, didn’t have much wow-​factor, according to his words. Perhaps he needs to order a different item next time to have his mind changed.
Overall, it was a good experience to try out Tony’s on the southside of Chicago. It’s located in a gentrified neighborhood, yet during the day I don’t foresee any danger to explore by foot. If you prefer to drive your own vehicle, there’s limited parking behind the restaurant.

The beefs here are good as well juicy and cheesy.
The fries here are so good! They have a red-​ish seasoning on them. The workers are nice.

They make good sandwiches at Tony’s. Most previous reviews were all about the Beef and I like those here just fine. They have the Jr Beef for $ 3 and that is usually enough for me. Or I’ve been known to get 2 Jr Beef with giardinara and a Coke. Good sandwich for the price.
What people are missing clearly is the rest of the menu. Go in and get a Super Sub with 3 eggs, 2 pieces of Bacon, 2 sausage patties, 2 slices of ham, and American cheese and tell me you don’t like it. I like the eggs cooked over medium so the yolk breaks and runs all over the place. That is a whole meal for about $ 7.
Good place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They also have a text club that they use to notify you of specials, and they hand out a card so when you get 10 punches on it you get a free sandwich.

If you are going to Midway and need some food go here! Amazing huge sandwiches. Also open for breakfast! I had the Italian beef with cheese and hot peppers! Giant, amazing, and yummy. No need for fries. They do a red sauce dip which people swear by.
You can get one and share it. They don’t skimp down here!
This place rocks. Real Chicago place.
There is no dine in really. Just some chairs and a counter-​top. Lots of people were getting to-​go orders.

Decided to drive out here for a late dinner. Been wanting to try this place for awhile. They do have a parking lot which is nice.
Italian Beef with Red Sauce, Mozzarella and Giardinia on the side — My guy said it was good, but he wasn’t too fond of the giardinia. He said it was different or it tasted like it was going bad.
Breaded Steak — This was okay. Breaded steak was tender, but even though the bread was soft, part of it was cold. They also forgot my sweet peppers.
Cheese Fries — Think they overdid it with the cheese as it was a bit salty.
I will definitely come back and give it another try.
