I went to Tree of Life due to a health condition that causes joint pain. After trying western medicine for several years and not seeing any improvements, I thought I’d give a homeopathic doctor a try. I was looking for a place that would do bioenergetics medicine and homeopathic remedies, and Tree of Life was it. At first I was very optimistic, especially when Dr. Knowski said she could help me feel at least a little better. I saw her for about 7 months. The treatment consisted of using bioenergetics assessments to keep track of levels of toxicity throughout my body. According to the level and location of the toxicity, she would sell me specific homeopathic and herbies remedies to get rid of toxins, improve body functions and ultimately help manage the pain. She also recommended a low-glycemic diet and sold me a book to help guide me. Each time I went to see her she was convinced that a different body part or body function was the culprit for the pain. As a result, she would sell me different supplements at each appointment. This was very confusing for me, and I started to think that it was all a fancy and expensive method of trial and error. All in all, after spending a good amount of money, time and effort, I didn’t notice any real improvement in my symptoms. On the other hand, the best part of seeing Dr. Knowski was 1) feeling listened to and cared for and 2) learning about epsom salt baths for pain. Dr. Knowski provides other treatments, but I only tried bioenergetics and homeopathy so I can’t speak for the other stuff. I will say that while Dr K can be a very understanding person about things relating to her patients’ health, she can be abrasive and unprofessional, especially on the phone, if you inconvenience her or if you are skeptical about eastern medicine. TIP: Make sure to cancel appointments well in advance! I was not reminded of the late cancellation fee and got a shocking bill after I cancelled my last two appointments late. :/Also had a very uncomfortable phone call about this which revealed her unprofessional side.
