Village Eyecare – Hyde Park

I love this office. Dr. Urabniak is knowledgeable and patient, and the office staff is superb. I had two choices of prescriptions for contacts and got trials pairs in both prescriptions to try out. For glasses I chose to replace the lenses but not the frames and the office was happy to accommodate. My whole family have been coming to this office for years, before new ownership, and we love it!

I purchased my glasses in May of 2015. Unfortunately I broke the frames 10 days ago. Immediately I contacted Village EyeCare since I purchased them there.
I was told that new frames would be ordered immediately. After a week went by I contacted Village EyeCare to see if the frames came in. I was told they were not in and they would check to see how long it would take. I did not hear from them for two days and called back. Again I was told they would check and call me back.
Then after still not receiving a call back I called again. Not trusting them I waited on the line while they called the manufacture. After waiting the representative from Village EyeCare came back on and said the frames were discontinued.
Terrible service and poor communication.

Great selection of frames along with professional and personable doctors. I definitely would recommend them for your eye care and glassware needs.

I went there to buy glasses and they had a good selection and helpful staff. I did feel a bit swayed into my decision as I didn’t have any friends or family there to help but had to rely on the staff there for how the glasses looked.
Even with my pretty good insurance the glasses came out a bit expensive. They do have a less expensive selection. I was also told glasses would be 30% off for u of c students before insurance when I was there a few days earlier but when I purchased them they said the student discount was only if I didn’t have insurance (which would have been nice to know up front). But for u of c students who don’t have insurance, this is good place to check out. Hopefully I’ll be happy with my glasses that should come in soon.

Enjoyed my first visit to the Hyde Park location. Staff was friendly, equipment modern and good selection of frames. Definitely would recommend.

Everyone in this office was so unbelievable kind, knowledgeable, and helpful, and Dr. Elizabeth Urbaniak is GREAT. She thoroughly explained all of my options, the pros and cons for each, and she gave me the space to decide for myself. I didn’t feel pushed in any one direction. I felt very comfortable asking her questions and sharing my concerns, and she addressed each of them.
Honestly, she is one of the best optometrists I’ve ever seen, and I will be coming back to her for as long as I live here.

I had my eye exam performed by Elizabeth Urbaniak. I went in for both a contacts fitting and regular eye exam. She was very helpful and thorough. I never someone explain so clearly my vision problems or give me suggestions on contacts and contact care. I was very pleased with the rest of the staff as well. It was very easy to get an appointment online, and the paperwork process went very smoothly. They were also really helpful in suggesting glasses and finding out the best way to make most of my insurance benefits. I have VSP.
I would give it five stars, but the reason I’m giving four is because of the prices of contacts and glasses. I picked out a set of Ray Bans and a year supply of contacts and the total (with insurance applied) was over $ 500. I didn’t realize it would be so much, so instead I asked for my prescription and will be looking around for more affordable options.

I stopped by Village yesterday for an exam and to select new glasses and contacts. The entire staff is excellent! Sherice was very patient and helpful and Dr. Sarai was very knowledgeable and considerate. This is the most technically advanced ‘facility’ I’ve experienced and the counseling and explanations gave me great confidence I was in good hands. Thanks all.

Fantastic service! I was looking to purchase a second pair of glasses and Renita Darrough helped me step outside of my comfort zone. Colors are my friend! Reds, blues, greens, purples… I settled on royal blue! Love my new glasses.

Best eye care shop I have ever been to. The salespeople were warm, knowledgeable, and very helpful. My sale associate spent over one and a half hours assisting unstylish me pick a set of glasses that would look good. She answered all my questions regarding the nature of eye glasses and I left the store feeling quite confident in my decision to visit them first (I had originally attended to shop around).
Unfortunately the store was a little bit pricey, so as a graduate student on a limited budget I purchased the frames separately on Amazon and will come back to receive the lenses and have things fitted and adjusted. Regardless I highly recommend Chicago locals come here and get assistance.

I highly recommend Village Eyecare for an eye exam and for choosing new frames. Dr. Sarai, the optometrist, gave me a thorough exam and spotted some possible problems and advised me to see my opthalmologist. He had his office send my report to my opthalmologist. Sherice, the optician, helped me select some great frames that look good on me. The office has a professional feeling and is clean and well laid out. The staff is professional and seem to be happy. If you are looking for an interior decorator ask about Monica who designed their space.

I had a great visit at Village Eyecare. The equipment is very modern and the staff are upbeat and helpful. I am really happy with my service. Street parking was easy and service was fast.

Everyone at Village Eyecare — Hyde Park was both welcoming and professional. Clearly they were more focused on my needs. I am completely satisfied with their work and how they treated me. Also, the cost of services was very reasonable.
