WORSTCONFORCELEBRITY&SPONSORINGVENDORS! TURNDOWN/SKIP this convention under ALL circumstances! FANS– do NOTSUPPORTWALKERSTALKERCON! They truly keep the«con» in «convention». The convention«volunteer staff» is completely unprofessional– they’re fans who are **NOTSCREENED** by the people who«hire» them– these are«fans» that are ACTUALLYASSIGNED to «assist» celebrities in negotiating and collecting autograph/photo fees, they are **not properly trained, monitored, or corrected for improper behavior**. The volunteer staff abuse their proximity to the celebrities by carrying on conversations with people who are trying to pay attention to their fans who have paid way too much to get in and get pix/autographs. They take photos without asking or paying, and let their friends do the same. Unfortunately, the code of conduct among the celebs is to be pleasant, regardless of the public situations they face. Additionally, celebs were repeatedly and extensively not relieved for breaks or meals by the«owner staff», as per schedules created *by* the«WSC owner staff». VENDORSWHOSPONSOR the events with donation of freebies, and/or who pay for additional exposure(including display of company logo/info during giveaways and events) are often misrepresented with incorrect or omitted sponsor names when their donated items are being presented. Vendors who are personal friends of WSC core staff are stocked with UNLICENSED items and have repeatedly instigated and bullied local vendors in front of attendees to the point where police should have been called. If you want to point a finger at a convention that doesn’t know the first thing about actual professionalism or hospitality, this would be the one. The WSC«owners» talk about how they hate that Wizard World«steals» their calendared celebrities, but the truth is that people dump WSC once they’ve had all they can put up with from WSC. DONOTSUPPORTTHISCON! It’s like slave labor for all involved except the WSC owners.

We got to Navy pier at about 11AM and let me first say, my boyfriend and I are ready for foot massages!!! There’s so much walking!!! Anyways, we paid for general admission tickets, thinking it was no biggie to wait in long lines but still get autographs. Now it’s one thing to Pay to get a picture taken but it was about $ 50 to get an autograph by anybody there. REALLY? That was the reason why we went! We ended up looking at the booths and shoot zombies in A potential zombie apocalypse. Some fun things to see and do… but doesn’t take long to look at everything.

Ahhhh I’m exhausted. Please tell me why they would host a convention at Navy Pier?!? First, there is not enough parking; I had to park about a 10 minute walk away(not a bad walk, but not in 10 degree weather). But then again I only paid $ 16 compared to $ 25 plus at Navy Pier(if there was parking). Then I had to walk like 2 more miles to the convention indoors. Not a bad walk, but I was sweating by the time I got there. Guess I should have taken my coat off. The only thing that saved me from insanity was I got there early, reserved parking, and got my wrist band from will call early. There was a small line around 9:45−10am and it started at 10:30. To avoid lines I got breakfast at 10:30 and then headed over and just walked in. It wasn’t that crowded in the am, which was nice. I bought my photo op ticket to get a photo with Gus and Walt Jr. of Breaking Bad first since they do sell out. I went around to get some shots of the actors at their boothes. Then I sat at two panels where actors were asked questions by the audience. I got lucky for the Breaking Bad panel because they had all general admission move up into VIP section! ! So I got a good view and nice pics of the actors. However, they made a mistake of putting the zombie laser tag right next to the stage, it was very hard to hear the actors while hearing lasers and screaming! ! After that, I headed over and waited in line to see the famous RV for Walking Dead, although it can be easily be taken for the Breaking Bad RV too! Just as I was in the RV, Martinez and a fake Governor got on top of the RV and started throwing shirts and autographed items which had the crowd going crazy. The vendors were okay, I mean how much zombie stuff can you look at. I’m already spending a lot of money on the tickets and photo ops so I wasn’t really interested in buying stuff I really don’t need. I had a late lunch around 2pm, but it was still crowded. All I have to say was that Navy Pier was not prepared for a huge convention like this. This one place ran out of food, were understaffed, and even had to stop taking orders for 5 minutes because they couldn’t keep up! Bathrooms were surprisingly good, no long waits. There was a coat check for $ 3 which wasn’t bad. The Voice auditions were also going on so we got to see some people practicing which was cool. Overall, since the website gave advice on preparedness, it helped a lot. However, do I think Navy Pier was a wise choice for a convention, probably not due to the lack of parking and lack of prepared food vendors. The space was perfect because it’s not that big, but you do a lot of walking back and forth since nothing is close! The highlights of the convention really are the actors which is the majority of the convention whether it be a photo op or signature. The vendors were eh and the panels would have been better if the laser tag wasn’t so loud. The one thing I found amazing was how quick the actors moved from place to place. I took a pic with Gus and 5 minutes later he’s over in another spot signing. Not sure how they move the actors around because there was no secret pathways in between the convention but they did so very smoothly!
