Bidwell Perk

Love this place I have family that lives around here and I love visiting this place to order Cherry Blossom White Mocha. Delicious plus it’s nice not to be overcrowded by Starbucks every corner.

I don’t know why it took me so long to try this place, but I finally did last week and I’ve been back twice since. Their drinks are delicious and the food and breakfast bites they have are perfect if you’re not looking for a huge breakfast meal. They even have almond milk which is hard to find [starbucks doesn’t!]

Love the vibe in there! great coffee and really relaxing. not your typical loud coffee shop!

My favorite coffee house, the B E S T Pumpkin Fog Black Tea Latte! Nice spices, nutmeg and cinnamon, with or with whipped cream. Personally, I get it without. I drink it all year around, not just holiday time.

I had their Green Tea Latte and it was fairly good. They need more comfortable seating.

This is my favorite coffee shop ever! However today the service is horrible. Not sure what’s wrong with the girl at the register but I’ve watched at least 10 customers walk away from her & either roll their eyes or just look look generally disgusted with her. Any other day I’d say come to the Perk! Not today. Still giving 4 stars because I love their coffee!

The kahlua & cream coffee is so good. I drink a lot of different coffees around town and this is one of my faves for sure.

I got the soy vanilla nut latte and my sister got the honey cream latte and we wanted them less sweet and they was fantastic! Two of the best coffees we have had. However they were a bit overpriced. Paid $ 5 something for a small. The cashier was very nice and didn’t get all irritated when I asked her a million questions about their coffees.
Overall I would go again because their coffee is to die for

When I ordered soup (not listed anywhere, I had to ask if they were serving it) I was asked if I wanted bread and butter with it. I said I would and later, when I looked at my bill, I was charged $ 1.75 for the bread and butter, two little pieces by the way. So, if you’re going to charge me for bread and butter, please let me know in advance, thanks!

Best coffee place in Chico. Nice ambiance, delicious coffee drinks, friendly employees and owners. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Don’t change a thing.

Bidwell Perk, I love you so. You give me caffeine and pastries, sandwiches and salads, an electrical outlet and a sturdy table. Bidwell has served me well as a social place and a location to get some work done. Any complaints I’ve had are remedied easily and with a smile.

I’ve died and gone to heaven. Coffee in the morning and now wine in the afternoon! I love that I can grab a glass of wine (and I need to try their beer!) with a friend and hang out without being in a bar. I remember when I was pregnant there was really no place to go where I could get a decent non soda drink while my friends wine-​d. Now there is!
We all drank the Sav Blanc when I visited with friends and it was bold and crisp. I loved the little carafe it comes in. Then we ordered some small plates and they were all delicious. Light and fresh and fun. We got the asparagus (cooked perfectly) which had Parmesan cheese and lemon rind over it that you could dunk in garlic aioli. Then we got the Best Hot Dip, it was great! Plus I loved the grilled bread with it, yum. Lastly the baked Brie with a mandating marmalade and pine nuts. It was gooey, sweet, salty and the side salad just made the dish lovely. I would totally order this for a lunch with a glass of wine.
Can’t wait to go back — you’ll know where to find me most afternoons from here on in!

How awesome that your favorite coffee house is now open for fabulous small plates and great wine and beer! I had the Brie with some wonderful chutney and pine nuts served with baguette and wild greens and a caprese salad with pesto. Both were delicious and inexpensive. The wine selection was very good and their special spritzer with Chardonnay, oranges and pineapple was not too sweet and very refreshing. This will be a favorite happy hour and brunch spot for me in Chico!

Great coffee. My favorite is the iced soy vanilla nut latte! Always yummy. The atmosphere is also nice if you’re looking to have a coffee date with someone or do some work. Some of the employees aren’t too happy but maybe I always catch them on an bad day. I always recommend this coffee shop to visitors!

Great place for a cup of joe. I really like their Honey Cream Latte. Yum. Probably a lot of calories however. The atmosphere is very comfortable and low key.

The staff here is really friendly, and the space to sit is really nice. There are the standard tables as well as bigger chairs in the back to sit in that are more comfortable. They play good, classic music. The one irk I’d say is that their coffee isn’t very strong compared to other places in the area. However, would definitely recommend, they have a lot of different blends.

Had a hot mocha espresso and it was lovely! Not too sweet or after taste. The area is nice especially if you want to sit and enjoy your drink!

Love this place — if only closer to my home. Look forward to coming here any chance I can. Great people!

A coffee house should have a few basics– good coffee, friendly staff, and music.
They have the coffee part down and the staff is friendly.
Please consider Jazz, Classical, Nuevo flamenco, Fingerstyle, New Age, World or Folk.

Bidwell Perk has easily become my favorite coffee shop in town. Although other coffee shops are much closer to my house, I find myself always in their neighborhood. I love their choice of coffees, love that there’s always an organic option, and I really love that there are metal spoons for stirring your coffee instead of wooden sticks (although sometimes the metal spoons are in the dishwasher).
The feeling inside the coffee shop is warm and intimate. Currently it’s decorated for the holidays with a classy look. The ladies and gents who work there are warm and friendly, even when they’re busy beyond belief.
The only complaint I have is that the parking situation is tough; there are rarely spots available and they tend to be very small compact spots. But I can usually find something if I’m patient, or park a little bit down the road and walk.
All in all, great place to go. They continue to win best local coffee shop year after year, and it’s obvious why.
