First time here tonight. I give the service 3 stars and the food 4 stars. Would I go back, prob not. There are better sushi places in Chino Hills.

This restaurant serves instant noodle posing as ramen. What a joke!!! It’s an insult to any customer who loves Japanese food.

I was going to give this a ONESTAR but I find that I should give pity when it’s due. We were there on a Monday night with a group of 10+. It was for a birthday party and we anticipated to have a wonderful sushi ayce dinner because we always go to TOMO7 and wanted to try something new around the area. What a mistake. Should have just stayed with tomo7 because Kiku Sushi is just mediocre. In fact, probably the worst AYCE joint I’ve ever been to. I used to live in West Covina, then to Rowland Heights and now I’m in Diamond Bar so I’ve had my fair share of AYCE sushi. Heck I even lived in IE for a while and worked in Newport Beach and now I’m at Beverly Hills. So when I say this is the WORST, i mean it is the worst. When I arrived, i put in my order sheet and I see some sushi already on the table so I assumed this would be great. 30 minutes later, sushi arrived to the table and it was filled with a mixture of rolls and sashimi. At this point I had no idea if that order included any of my order(there was like 2 pcs of something that I marked but wasn’t sure if it was mine) but I was like gosh guys I have to get some of that because I’m starving. Then, the rest of the party suggested that since the food is arriving so slow almost at a 30 minute increment, we should already put in another order so the food would come faster. At this time I still never received any of my order from when I first sat down because I am a roe lover and i ordered only the salmon eggs and smelt eggs. The host at the table was getting paranoid and asked the server to check up on our order. She came back saying the chef is making it. Then 15 minutes passed, still no sushi. We asked again, she said it was coming. Then at about 25 minutes, the host asked to speak to the manager and the manager said«Oh, I saw there is still food in your table, so I didn’t make any yet.» Are you kidding me!!! I still haven’t even got my salmon egg or smelt egg and you decided to stop making sushi because you saw us having rolls on the table(something that only one person ordered??) By this time, it has been an hour and I haven’t even got what I ordered, I just ate other people’s roll that was just sitting on the table. The manager then decided to go in and help so he can«express make» our sushi. The sushi came in faster, but by then, some people had already left and I already sat for an hour and a half by this time and I already lost my appetite to eat after all these disappointments. By the time when we paid, the manager tried to liven up the mood by making corny dad jokes that we did not find funny at all. I only laughed to entertain the remnants of his shameless circus act. We had our cake cut and he said«should i take this knife away, because you know, its dangerous. ohh-ho-ho heh-heh– heh» and proceeds to tap it on the table twice with a creepy smile. I kid you not. I wish I had it on camera. This was an example of what an inexperienced manager with lack of management techniques do when they do not know how to handle a situation properly. Also, a classic case of laughing at you, not with you. The one star added is also for the server who was very kind to us and she was definitely what was salvaging our dinner as she keeps apologizing when trying to make amends for the chef’s and manager’s incompetence. At the end of the night, I can only come to a conclusion that their service was so slow because they want to utilize the trick of how our brains act when we space out our intake of food because we’d get much fuller once the first«round» of food settles in and eventually we lose appetite when waiting for so long. What a shameful yet embarrassing business establishment.

I cannot expressed how long it took for the food to be on the table, I mean 30 minutes into sitting down, they have only brought out two plates of sushi, we consumed that within minutes! Mind you, we had 13 people with us. to share about 15 pieces of sushi on one plate. dude. at this point, we had about 60 orders in with three different order paper!(each order = two sushi) In the beginning, I am like telling the waitress, «Can you check on the order? We have been here for a while now, everyone is has an empty plate» BTW Waitress lady, super nice, if I EVER come back, it will have to be for her customer service. Anyways, within 1 hour in «dinning» I was pissed! I straight up told the waitress” This is unacceptable, you guys had brought in one plate(about 20 pieces) every 20 minutes. I mean this is NOT my first time eating at AYCE and other places bring it out fast” She apologize. I said«I mean we have been here about an hour and you guys are still serving our first round. are you serious? And I know it is not your fault but they need to hire more chefs…» I got so upset that I start talking to the Chef Manager(The tall guy, apparently he is a sushi chef too, well I mean wth. hes been walking around for the past hour… doing a whole bunch of nothing. its like why didnt you jump in to help the chef if you see theres a whole list of back up orders??“ Anyways so when I am talking to him, I realized that he hasnt even START making the 2nd round of order with a few still missing from the first round. I am not even gonna ask our 3rd round. HIs response was«you still have food on the table. so I thought to wait.» IMLIKEAREYOUKIDDINGME??? Theres food on the table so you wait??? WTH. Do you understand what AYCE means??? People, let me tell you, all of us got so hungry that we have been just eating each others order, like I ordered alot of Ikura and Smelt eggs, I end up eating about 4 pieces bc they dont deliver all the orders in full so we end up just sharing each others food. In short, we end up eating things that we did not really want. bc we end up sharing due to our hunger. Overall, we got full because we ate couple pieces then wait for another 20 minutes. and ate another couple pieces. and wait another 20 mins. yup. not the typical AYCE. more like ALLYOUCANWAIT. Food taste good, but I feel like they take long on purpose so your stomach can set and not want to eat so you can eat less. I mean afterall, we weren’t ordering Rolls(easy to full up tummy due to all the fatty sauces) we order raw fish sushi, which cost more so for $ 24.95 thats gonna cost them $$$ so of course they want to take their time. Well guess what, you just lost 13 of potential long term customers. Never coming back.

I have visited this restaurant a few times now and I feel confident in saying that this is a quality AYCE sushi establishment. The individuals working here are kind and attentive and the setting is clean and well maintained. The food is delicious and I especially recommend the beef and chicken teriyaki. They are both very savory dishes. The AYCE comes with a drink included in the price. I look forward to my next visit.

DATEIDEA: perfect combination of dinner and a movie because this is so conveniently places next to the Harkins theater. My boyfriend, his son, and I decided to come here after watching an early movie because we were starving. So since it’s by the movie theater, definitely a lot of parking. There are plenty of tables, but because of where it is, I can see it being a bit of a wait especially on Friday and Saturday nights. The fish tasted fresh, but there was nothing amazing about their rolls. It earned 3 stars be as it was good. We ordered the ultimate shrimp tempura roll, Philadelphia roll, and a salmon hand roll. While waiting for our food, they served us edamame. What people seem to come here for is their all-you-can-eat sushi special. If that’s the case for you, then I’d definitely make a stop here!

Came here on a Friday at 9pm. A lot of people waiting to be seated, a long list of names on the list, but many seats available at the bar. Couldn’t figure it out. We asked the employee seating people and he stated that we couldn’t be seated until a party of 4 was seated. Groups of 2 and 3 wait until the party of 4 is seated. Enough open spots at the sushi bar for most of the people waiting, but because the group of 4 happen to put their name in first, we all had to wait. In other words, if a party of 10 puts their name in, no is seated until they are. Even if tables/bar spots open in groups of 2 or 3. Doesn’t make sense to me, or anyone else waiting in the lobby area. Bad business tactic. Turning away customers to prioritize a group of 4. I don’t get it. Any answer Kiku?

It’s not shabby, I would rate it ok they seemed to be known for the unlimited sushi but that’s just way to many carbs haha but it was a good experience will come back again they could have maybe checked in alittle more just because we ran out of water and our other drinks. It was not super busy but I hope in the future there is alittle better service. The food Came out and we were impressed because we have been looking for a good sushi place.

This is one of our favorite places to go! They’re sushi is excellent. The service is superior. They’re AYCE is priced pretty well. It’s not more or less than expected. The think we like the most is that they don’t limit you on the amount of rounds you can order. So, we don’t overeat because we have to get everything we want in two or three rounds. Overall, this place is amazing. We come all the time.

I really enjoy their AYCE as they have appetizers included with it and their portion size of the nigiri and sushi is just right; it won’t make you full right away. You could get more than three rounds and the food comes out fast. They look like they could use more servers though.

Great service and really good sushi if you know what to order. Like in every single restaurant with all you can eat service, most of those rolls are california or crab based. But like i said before if you get to know the menu, there’s other great rolls; besides the sushi, they offer an over the top sashimi plate and decent traditional sushi. I would definitely recommend it, laid back ambiance, music is at the right volume and they’re quick to serve you, even on a super busy day.

Good sushi restaurant. Staff is very friendly. Have been here a few times while working in the area. Sushi is good, not outstanding, but definitely good. This time I tried the all you can eat for 24.95. It included a large hot sake. I had two big rolls, and some ebi. I was full, but waiter said I needed to get my $ worth, so he talked me into another roll. Very nice.

Decided to try a new sushi spot after a movie. Despite the crowd, customer service was very good. Our server took care of us all night. The sushi overall was great and it helped it was AYCE! Had some rolls I’ve never had before and they were good.

I used to come here a lot and always enjoyed the fresh made rolls and quality, however, it seems like it’s slipping of late. My favorite tempura roll(69 roll) arrived cold and soggy last time I was here :( I’m hoping it was a fluke, as they’ve always been good before. The server was very helpful and let us order a new roll and the owner came to apologize and check that we were ok. I will be returning, as it’s always been a fave place for sushi.

Definetly a good place. My boyfriend and I had the AYCE sushi and everything we had was fresh and tasty. I absolutely loved the mango tango and the Mexican roll Note: if you can’t handle spicy do not get anything labeled as spicy because it WILL be spicy. I love spicy but my mouth was on fire when I had the LA Laker roll and their heart attack nonetheless, everything was delish!

I’ve been here numerous times, and feel their AYCE value is great, it comes with either a beer, hot sake or soda. Limit 1 pcs per person to the Oyster, and 2 pcs(1 order) per person for the Uni — those are the only items that has limits as far as I know. Why the 3 stars? During my past few visits I wanted to give them 4 stars despite slow services here and there in the past, however after yesterday’s experience, I’ve deducted a star. For a Thursday night with a movie theater next door, with new movies being released, it’s a given that it’ll get busy with people dining there before the movies; they had 2 servers, 1 busperson and 3 sushi chefs. My table sat at 7:35pm and from then til 9:20pm we only managed to place an order once(waving down someone was already tough, and they split our order into two plates, so one plate came first while we had to check with them before we got the 2nd part of our order), and this is only for a party of 2 people. Hence the frustration. The quality of the food is good, but I would advise if it’s busy, to avoid dining here since service is already kind of slow normally, I’ve seen AYCE places that have gotten packed with 2 sushi chefs and the place doesn’t slow down to a halt like this one. The next time I’m in this plaza watching a movie, I would rather visit another restaurant within the proximity than this one if it’s busy.
