This is the second time we’ve been here but this time the service was a little slow and the steaks were a little over cooked. When you order a dessert that needs to be cooked they should tell you that it will take a little longer.

Bonn-Fire just re-opened after a fire gutted the kitchen. We decided to try it again, the bar has a new look and it was crowded when we got there. After 15 minutes, we were seated for dinner. Sorry to say the food has not improved. Will probably not go back.

I have been here 4 times now. The staff/service is friendly and quick. The food is pretty good. So far we have tried. Fried Shrimp-amazing! Highly suggest! Mozzarella sticks– good but the marinara is not that great. Bonfire burger-descent. Seasoned fries-awesome Lemon artichoke pasta-pretty good. Potato soup-yummy Philly cheesesteaks-very good Mac and cheese– good/homemade but tastes like Alfredo. Chocolate cheesecake-amazing

We were never very impressed before the closure, and after they opened back up we decided to try again. They were out of rolls, and the food was alright. Be aware that the chef likes to load some of the dishes up with lots of parsley on top, so if you don’t like it be sure to ask for it without. The wait staff is always friendly.

Good food. We eat here for dinner every time we drive through town on our way to see family in Prescott. I usually get the prime rib. It is my favorite and have never been disappointed. Tried the fried artichokes as an appetizer for the first time and we loved them as well. I decided to finally try something new as an entrée and ordered the Reuben. Yummy! Our waitress was great also. Very friendly and on top of it.

The food here was decent, but nothing special. Had to order my wings well done because the first time they came out still pink. My partners Club Sandwich was not her favorite but my Cobb Salad was fine. We are in the bar and the ambiance was great. Our bartender was Dallas and she made the evening fun and worth the visit. Our cocktails were perfect. We would probably go back, but not necessarily for the food. Drinks and appetizers will be our next attempt.

Was happy they re opened. Went with my son. Waited for 30 minutes at table. Ordered food. Got it an hour later. Philly sand was ok but my sons fish was terrible. Nothing went right. Called after we got home and spoke to the owner. Told him about the poor service and he said he was busy and did not have time to deal with that and he hung up on me. Yes the owner hung up on me. Never go to this dump again.

Very disappointed in the Bonn fire. Waited patiently for the reopening. We had eaten there several many times. We are chino locals. The front desk girl welcomed my family and I with a snotty, runny nose she was wiping with a restaurant cloth napkin. We waited and were finally seated. Our drinks all came separately although ordered at the same time. Waiter served the drinks grasping the rims of the glasses and cup with her hands. Food was one hour wait. We also waited for straws, napkins and silverware. Food was subpar at best. I ordered the prime rib chili soup. It was lukewarm and had two very small pieces of what I think was beef. The broth was so spicy my throat was on fire for several hours after. No crackers or bread offered with the soup. I am a former waitress, manager and Marie calenders restaurant opener. I have never sent food back until your restaurant. In general the wait staff was very unprofessional. Unfortunately we have so few choices in our town. But we will drive the extra miles to Prescott for a good experience.

Called prior to arriving to ensure we wouldn’t be rushed at dinner. We arrived with plenty of time to spare. We had a considerable wait for the hostess to appear to be seated as we did not want to sit in the bar area that was also unstaffed even though patrons were seated at the bar. We were not the only party waiting at the hostess podium. We were seated ahead of the other party that was waiting when we got there. She seated us rather than listen that the other party was there first. Heard plenty of excuses from her for the delay. I think the employees were working on their closing duties hoping to skip out early and ignoring their customers. Ordered the artichokes appetizer and it was served with ranch dressing not the horseradish sauce as the menu stated. Asked waitress why we received ranch, she immediately brought the correct sauce. As to the artichokes there were lots of crumbs and not much artichokes. Kitchen staff helping themselves to patron’s portion? It was the smallest portion we have ever received and we order it nearly every time we dine here. Chicken fried chicken meal I ordered($ 10.50) was very good, but the coleslaw was far from fresh; being tough, chewy and dry. Mashed potatoes weren’t very warm, but the milk gravy was good. The waitress forgot the fries that went with my friends order, they were cold and tasteless when she brought them. The tacos for a buck were worth the buck, but nothing more. Six ordered, four eaten. The tortillas were tough and chewy. I really think that the if this type of experience continues I will pass on coming back. I think night staff needs a refresher on service and not to just hang out in the kitchen ignoring their patrons. Hope their not being busy isn’t a sign of quality problems. I am glad it has re-opened, but with the current prices being higher and poorer service there is little value for the money.

So we went here on a recommendation from the front desk staff at Days inn. We were greeted with a warm smile and friendly staff. Got to our table and had Mariah as our waitress. I believe I overheard that she was brand new. Well she was awesome, very attentive friendly and came by to make sure that we were happy. We had the sampler platter(best chicken strips anywhere) great fish platter and the chocolate brown ie desert was wondeful. Great prices friendly staff and great food a trifecta for sure. Well done we will surely come back on our next trip through.

Well Bön Fire. Your service still sucks!!! I’ve been sitting here for over an hour and just got the appetizer. Took 1 hour and 10 min to get our food. Lived here 6 years and I still won’t have a problem passing you to go to Prescott to take my family. The appetizer was shorted one item and your waitress didn’t even bother to tell me. I had to say something. Yeah thanks for the stupid discount. Should had stayed closed another month to send your servers to training classes on customer service.

Spoke with Bonn-Fire staff and confirmed that they hope to re-open in November. The review on Unilocal stating that they are closed should state that they are temporarily closed for repairs following a fire back in the spring.

It was called to my attention that this restaurant is closed while being renovated due to a fire –not permanently closed as I had first reported. To reopen sometime late 2015. It baffles me why the owner didn’t put up a damn«renovation» sign the day the restaurant closed. Let the local community and the many passers-by know what’s going on – don’t just give the appearance of being closed.

I find the reviews insulting the food ridiculous. Doctored up diner food? PLEASE! EVERYTHING is made from scratch, with the exception of the chicken fried steak and the French fries. They even grind all their own meat for things like Italian sausage and the burgers. They make their own salad dressings, the soup is from scratch, even things like pizza crust and rolls are made in-house. Despite all this, it’s not a stuffy, pompous atmosphere; rather, think of a more upscale cowboy theme. The servers are human and expect to be treated with respect, so try not to be a complete jerk and you will get amazing service. There are only twelve booths in the main dining area, so if you don’t want to sit in the sports center, expect to wait on busy nights. Again, everything is from scratch and it’s the only decent place in Chino Valley. Families CAN sit in the sports center and often do. Wednesday is a great day to come for a soup and salad lunch because the Bleu Tomato Bisque will blow your mind. The house soup, chicken and wild rice, is also amazing and you can get that anytime. All their quality cuts of meat are fantastic, and the prime rib comes with homemade creamy horseradish — which I absolutely love. If you come expecting to pay Denny’s prices, just stay away. You don’t pay those prices and you don’t get crappy food.

On our first return trip to Chino Valley, since we moved away almost 3 years ago, we stopped at the Bonn Fire for dinner. Since we were not very hungry, my wife had one of their salads and I had a cup of soup and a side of mac and cheese. The salad was very good. The soup was also very good and the mac and cheese was excellent. Service was very good.

Tonight was the last night I will ever go to this dive. A few examples… there was a couple with a chihuahua at the bar… the gangster from the kitchen couldn’t pull his pants up past his knees and the bartender was more concerned about making sure someone had her number than her customers and she was peddling chicken eggs from behind the bar that didn’t have the«shit» washed off… We ordered chicken wings and asked they be grilled. This request was staunchly refused by a 22 year old peeking out from the kitchen. Too bad Chino this is the only real choice in town … this cowboy will be making the 10 minute drive to avoid this place at all costs. Thanks for coming … see ya in the rear view mirror! My husband and I drive through Chino Valley once or twice a month and we always have to stop at Bonn-fire for dinner. They have a sports bar on one side and a sit-down restaurant on the other side. As with most places, you tend to get a little better service in the bar than in the restaurant. I always get the Caesar salad and chicken with wild rice soup. For soup and salad, it’s really terrific. Sometimes I’ll get the southwest turkey grill sandwich and French onion soup, and they’re equally delicious. Last time we went it just happened to be Peanut Butter Pie Month, so I had to get a slice! A little dry, but still yummy. I think it just needed a scoop of ice cream on top. The service is a bit on the slow side, but the waitresses are friendly and the food is always good, so if you’re not in a hurry, it’s well worth the wait. If I lived in Chino Valley, I would probably be here several nights a week.

This is probably the best dining option in the Chino Valley. Menu is very broad with italian, seafood, steaks, bbq and comfort food. I ordered the chicken fried steak and while it was smaller than what is served in Texas it was good. Our service was good. I recommend this place. If not here your best bet is to drive into Prescott.
