I absolutely love my slide out shelves– I mean love. I had an unruly pantry and my husband said I would lose space by putting shelves in– what I lost(minimally) in space I gained in sanity, as everything is now organized and I can easily see what I need or don’t need. The install/sales guy came out promptly and the shelves were installed within a week. The price was right for what I got. I think the shelves could be better ‘looking’- the birch is blah. Color options would be nice, and having to snail mail a check in is so 1980’s– Paypal is your friend people! Some expanded options and easier ordering would have made a five star experience, but I love love my shelves.

Odd for me, I ordered here before checking Unilocal.In this case, glad I did. My kitchen needs some slide-out shelves. When window shopping on this, I got some great help from Anthony Hantz at Home Depot, Redmond WA. A couple of months later when I got serious, I was much closer to Bothell so tried Home Depot there, and after a moderate wait I got pretty much no help, so decided to try elsewhere. I ordered 4 slide out shelves from SOS. They all came exactly as promised, crazy fast. I even changed my order the day after I placed it and they were able to accommodate the change. The shelves were packed great, perhaps due to the previous reviews — but shipping wasn’t cheap($ 55) so I expected good packing I suppose. The ordering web site was pretty easy to use. My nit would be that I ordered all of my shelves 1″ too shallow(they work fine but I could use the inch) because I didn’t understand I could measure all the way over the front lip of my cabinets. Lesson learned but I think the site could have made it a bit more clear. My shelves cost between $ 33 and $ 43 each depending on size, plus $ 9 extra for premium mounting hardware per shelf. Plus the shipping. The install directions were a bit tiny, but made sense and I was able to follow them and do the install no problem. It’d be nice if they’d specify the drill bit size as that’d have saved me a few minutes. Overall I was pretty impressed and plan on using them again.

I ordered over $ 1000 in shelving and installation accessories on 8÷6÷11. When the shipment arrived two of the shelves were damaged. One of them had minor damage(a separated joint which I repaired) while the other was cracked and I didn’t feel I could repair it. I called Slide Out Shelves and they voluntarily shipped me a replacement shelf. The replacement arrived on 8÷19÷11 and also had damage. I contacted Slide Out Shelves concerning the damaged replacement shelf and sent them photographs of the damage. The representative stated the following via email: «Thank you for the pictures, the box doesn’t look THAT bad except it is very obvious that they dropped it directly on its edge hard enough for the wood to crack, and it looks cracked on the bottom which can be re-glued and placed as the rear which would not render the shelf unusable or cosmetically undesirable, we will send out another Monday». Slide Out Shelves also requested that I send the damaged replacement shelf back to them and they provided me a UPS shipping label to do so. The email I received from the Slide Out Shelves representative stated: «UPS decided not to do an inspection on the first shelf so that one can be disposed of. This recent shelf does not seem to have significant damage to ask UPS to warrant a claim, but we are sending you a replacement shelf and will be asking UPS to pick this recent shelf up from you and send it back to us. We will send out a replacement on Monday and ask that you repackage this recent shelf and make it available on your doorstep etc for the UPS driver to pick up also on Monday.» The second replacement arrived without issue and the first replacement went back to Slide Out Shelves. During this time I placed a second order for over $ 200 of additional shelves and accessories on 8÷21÷11. All items that were in the second order arrived without problems. On 2÷05÷12 I placed a third order for two shelves and accessories. I initially received an order invoice via email but then received another email on the same day stating that the order had been cancelled. I received an additional email stating the following: «Hello Mr Nichols Based upon our previous experience shipping product to this address and inspecting product that was not acceptable, we feel that it is not possible to fill this order Thank you Rick» I emailed Slide Out Shelves on 2÷6÷12 to ask that they reconsider this decision and received no response. I then called on 2÷07÷12 and spoke with Rick and was told that Slide Out Shelves didn’t feel that the damage to the shelf which was returned to them warranted replacement and therefore would not do business with me.
