On my way home from having a «bad day» I decided to stop by Asada Express and try it out. Had it not been for their persistence in putting their flyers in the car windows on the streets of Chula Vista, I probably not would have stopped by! The name itself is catchy and everyone wants an express when it comes to food however, I find the name misleading and contradicting because it is not an expressway to filling hunger whatsoever! I walked in my first time and greeted by a woman who later helped me choose a meal that I eventually ordered and inhaled! This woman has to be the most sweetest, considerate, and patient woman I have ever encountered in my entire years of dining. This is the reason for 5 stars and they do deserve it! The restaurant being fairly new has maintained its cleanliness and pleasant dining room experience. There is plenty to do while you wait for your meal. The restaurant is up to-date with flat screens, karaōke, and even magazines to look at but I never found myself being impatient because the wait for my food was actually worth it. Food that takes a long time to prepare and cook usually turn out well. Their prices are unbelievably affordable and cheap for the great quality that you receive not to mention that they have $ 1 mini breakfast burritos. You can get creative and open minded with their food. All options and ideas are left open and the hostess is so glad to take your order and make sure that while you are there, you are comfortable and satisfied from every angle! Carne asada nachos, flavorful beans, a delicious breakfast burrito and the perfect horchata to make come running back for more! All of the other customers seemed happy to be there which made the experience more memorable!

Asada express is a pretty hidden little gem in CV. It’s owned by three super friendly ladies that specialize in guisados and make comida corrida that is as good as it is traditional. Their menu is somewhat limited, it is premade a la carte style after all, but if you ask for something specific will cook it for you. I feel that the food is a little pricey for what it is, but it’s still under $ 10 for a meal and a drink. Plus they have the free fountain drink offer here. Try their Carne asada. Juicy juicy PS if you type«asada» on an iPhone it will autocorrect it to asses

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Lets put this in reverse order. Ugly: This place is located in a strange spot as you can not see it from the road. It has a weird parking lot and other auto shops around it. So there is no walk by traffic which is what a place like this needs. The Bad: The display area doesn’t show what the food looks like. This is similar to Super Cocina in that they have guisados or stews but Super cocina’s display area you can see the entrees clearly and the pans are larger. The Good: The owner and the help here are very friendly and accommodating. The food is good but not as good as Super Cocina. I ordered the Chicarones Gordo Burrito which was Pork Rinds and pork meat in a tomatillo sauce. It would have better as a plate as the worker asked if i wanted rice and beans. I thought he meant on the side and not INSIDE the burrito. I think they make all of the burritos with rice and beans on the inside up in NOCAL. Not for me! The food was definitely good not great and the prices vey reasonable. The burrito was 4.99. The restaurant is very clean and looks good. I hope they do well but the location as I said is kind of weird. It is a small family owned business so I wish them well. They have plates which cost 6.99 for one entrée with rice and beans and 2 entrees with rice and beans for 7.25. Check it out, it is a good value for the money.
