Joe & Ernies Pizzeria

Been awhile since I’ve been here but decided to try it again… tried pizza by the slice for lunch and at 3.50 each I feel it’s reasonably priced because the slices are good sized. The pesto was a winner and toppings went to the edge this time. The standard meat with peppers and olives was pretty tasty. You can taste the quality italian sausage with fennel too.
They have a sign stating that their sauce is homemade and slightly spicy so you can request a mild version. Didn’t seem spicy but rather very robust so that was another hit for me. I just wish they offered more variety by the slice.

I love their pizza. I like that I can just get a slice & share it with my toddler, they’re pretty big slices. Thin crust. Delicious.

I have been in my pajamas all day. I didn’t feel like getting out of them, but my stomach was growling and my son was at work, so I figured I should probably try feeding myself. I’ve never had food from Joe & Ernies before tonight. I’ve seen it, but thought perhaps it was just another pizza place… but tonight I read the reviews, looked at the photos and figured why not.
I ordered two calzones — one meat lovers for the boys arrival home and the works minus a few ingredients that I just don’t like.
I also ordered ½ size of the Balsalmic salad.
So…
Food arrived HOT HOT HOT (YAY!) and on time.
The sauce (on the side) was actually really good. I’m not a tomato fan or a pizza sauce fan but I really liked their sauce.
Oh — the calzones are really big… well to me they are. I ate about ½ before I had to give up. That means I’ll have more later, although my dog was sending me telepathic messages to give him some, so far I’ve been able to avoid his mind control. Mostly because he’s been filling my room with toxic farts as a reminder of why we shouldn’t give him people food.
The salad was quite large considering it was the ½ order. All of the ingredients were super fresh.
The dressing was a bit on the bland side. I think I expected a punch of balsamic vinegar. You know, where your mouth does the weird lemony face because it’s so tangy? For some reason I expected that. This dressing is okay, but not something that you want to bathe your digits in so you can lick that goodness off.
I’m sure the boy will be happy with his super meaty calzone when he returns home from his 8 hours at Starbucks.
I see many more orders with Joe and Ernie!

Delicious pizza!!! I think is the best pizza in all Eastlake.

I’ve wanted to try Joe & Ernies for a while now, I have a mixed feeling about this place. I ordered online which was convenient however, a tip: make sure you select «pepperoni» instead of «peperoncini» apparently many have made the same mistake. The hostess was kind enough to call and confirm my select. Good thing I printed out a copy of my order — I definitely had to do a double take.
I also added tip to the online order and tipped again at the register.
We ordered a 12″ pizza with pepperoni, 8 hot wings (w/​ranch), ½ of antipasta salad and 2 liter of Sprite.
There is a «Family Order» online but it has a 8″ pizza. — we wanted more.
Pizza, not bad: I’ve had better, and $ 2 more it could be a 16″.
Antipasta Salad, good size (½) Romaine Lettuce, Cucumbers, Roma Tomatoes, Black Olives, Feta Cheese, Salami, Red Onions With Italian Dressing.
Hot wings with Ranch dressing, good flavor.
For me it was a little more pricier than other pizza places and quality was okay. As I mentioned before, I’ve tasted better. Timing was good. Friendly service.

Ahhhh-​mazzzzz-​ing! Totally delicious comfort food. We love them! The Husband DOES think their sauce is a little spicy, but they CLEARLY state that in their menu! Plus he has never NOT eaten it! Haters gonna hate though, and say they didn’t know. Personally, I LOVE their sauce! So much more flavor than the regular chain joints!
More often than not I have to called them and congratulated them on a job WELL done! It’s always hot, fresh, and under the quoted delivery time! We love their pizza and their cheesesticks are SOOOO much better than Papa Johns! Pizza sized! YUMM! And the side of sauce? HUGE!
Who could ask for more? Not us! Screw the big box companies and try it for yourself!

Our new go to pizza stop in the eastlake area. The pictures on here really don’t do it justice. It’s very flavorful and very cheesy. My fiancé and I shared a 12″. they have great customer service as well. I ordered over the phone and when I arrived everyone was really friendly. Although they messed up my order, and the cashier caught it before they gave me the pizza, they comp’d me with a free salad. Only had to wait another five minutes. Def coming back.

The pizza: Great pizza, love the sauce, the crust is thin but not too thin, the toppings are high quality and there is a great variety. I tried a salad last time and I also enjoyed it.
The service was very friendly, the cashier even help me save some money by suggesting I order the kids special — 2 slices and a drink for $ 5.
The prices: like I said there was a great deal on the kids special, and looking at the menu I see some great family specials, will have to try in the future.

I’m not a big pizza fan but I needed carbs before my long run the next day and pizza has been my go to. I’ve tried most of the pizza places around my neighborhood but for whatever reason have neglected to try this place. What is wrong with me? This pizza joint is awesome in every respect-​from the friendly guy who took my order to the first bite of pizzas my family ate! We had the chorizo pizza and Richard’s veggie pizza. Both were delicious! I usually don’t eat the crust but I gobbled this one up! Will definitely come back here the day before all my long runs and races.

It gets five stars because I didn’t have to leave my stool at novo Brazil. Anyone that put three stars. YALLLLLL TRIPPPING! Tasty pizza. Will definitely order pizza from this spot again.

I hate to give two stars to this place. I had really high hopes. Called in an order for delivery and ordered a large pizza with mushrooms and olives. They came and delivered not too long after. The problem is with the pizza the crust was almost black. I had such a hard time chewing the pizza. It was really greasy but not that much cheese. 20 bucks for a pizza I was expecting something really good but I would’ve much rather ordered from dominos or gotten one from Costco. Maybe I just got them on a bad day but I don’t think I’ll ever try them again.

Pictures here on Unilocal don’t do this place any justice. Do yourself a favor and stop buy to see and taste their delicately crafted pies first hand. They have a range of different toppings from traditional specialties like BBQ Chicken to more eyebrow raising options like Taco Pizza.
You can definitely tell the ingredients are fresh. I distinctly tasted the sauce, cheese and dough all separately from each other instead of an amalgamation of chewy mush you find at other pizza joints. Joey & Ernie’s is doing a great job executing their craft and we will be back for more.

Dough? Good. Sauce? Good. Cheese to toppings ratio? Good. Overall experience? Delicious!

This was my first time eating their pizza and I ordered delivery only because they started carrying gluten free crust. The crust is thin, but not too thin, and herbal with a hint of garlic. Very chewy and tasty, as compared to cardboard gluten pizza imitators elsewhere. The price is cheaper and pizza is larger (12″) than other restaurants. Overall great pizza and timely delivery service. Excited to continue to savor this delicious recipe.

I’ve been meaning to check out these guys for a long time and finally got the chance. When it comes to pizza, it’s so easy to call some of the «big» pizza chains so I figured I’d give this local small business a shot.
I tried the Mexican pizza. At first I was a little reluctant but I figured I’d step out of my comfort box and try something a little different. I was not disappointed… the beans, the chorizo and the cheddar cheese were melded together perfectly. The jalapeños were a little too spicy for my wife’s taste so I got to eat the whole thing!
My kids got the 8 in pizzas with pepperoni and they had no complaints… a rare feat considering how picky my little stinkers are.
The customer service by far is stellar. The girl at the counter was very polite and hospitable.
I am looking forward to explore some exciting things on my next visit.

Born and raised in chula vista I have tried pretty much ever pizza joint except for Joe and Ernies. Yesterday I decided to give it a try and placed my order over the phone and had my wife pick it up. They have good customer service the women I spoke with over the phone was friendly and my wife had told me the cashier was warm and friendly as well. I have to say hands down this has to be the best joint pizza in chula vista in my opinion. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves pizza. Say goodbye to the pizza food chains.

–You can’t beat the price for the quality of food you are getting.
They offer pizza by the slice as well if your in the mood for quick snack.

Joe and Ernies does not disappoint, everything was great. We ordered the family meal #3 with:
— a large pizza with pepperoni and jalapeños
— a large specialty pizza (the italian)
— wings with franks sauce
— antipasto salad
We also ordered wings with bbq sauce.
We were quoted a 25 minute pickup time at dinner rush on a Friday night and our food was ready right when we got there.
There were 3 people working and all 3 of them were friendly, courteous, and it seemed like they were running things efficiently even though it was busy.
The Italian pizza was amazing, definitely the highlight of the meal, but the rest of the food was really good too.
We’ll definitely be back!
