outstanding. Best meat selection and quality within a 30 mile radius. the price of meat itself is very on par with major chain grocers… but it is LOCALLYSOURCEDANDNEVERFROZEN. the staff is also extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Yes, prices on some common items are higher than the supermarket, but for meat they can’t be beat. they also have a good deli selection.

Having spent my summers in the heart of meat and dairy land Wisconsin — I LOVETHISPLACE. Fresh smoked meats — some come from Fisher’s Meats — thick platter bacon and counter service that’s simply great.(and some good wine selections) Pssst…here’s the hidden gem and I shouldn’t really share this: if you like cottage cheese(and I don’t normally — really aside from applications in lasagna — because most production cottage cheese is well, bland or gritty) — this is the place for the best friggin cottage cheese in the state. They quit carrying for a while just before they moved into the new digs, but have carried it since I asked for it. Hoosier Farms Brand — a smidge more expensive than standard offerings but well worth it. Do yourself a favor and try it. I’m sure to be in trouble w/the sweetums now that we run risk of shortages and availability now that I’ve mentioned this; but I had to tell someone. Easy in and easy out — you’re paying for convenience but not like a convenience store — just a good hometown shop and I’m happy to patronize the place.

The prices here are quite a bit more than what you might pay at other places but Cicero Market has the advantage of being the only grocery-type store in town. The set-up is very modern and they actually have quite a large selection of products. They do have fresh produce and dairy products as well as snacks, baking goods, spices/seasonings, and a meat counter. I thought that the meat prices were pretty reasonable but I am a vegetarian so what do I know? I picked up a Delmonico steak for my boyfriend that was just under a pound and cost $ 5.50. Not bad. The shop is super clean and well organized but again, a little pricey. Staff wasn’t overly friendly but I liked that they left me alone while I was shopping. I will continue to stop in from time to time when I need to grab a few forgotten items.

The Cicero Market is absolutely wonderful. The staff are friendly, they have tons of food, it’s great when you don’t have to go all the way to Kroger to get something. They have so much stuff, especially since they moved into their newer building across from Dairy Queen. It’s a great local grocery, love it! And they have Blue Bell ice cream: YUM. And they carry meats from Fisher Packing. The cottage bacon is to die for. I LOVETHISMARKET.
